Alessandro Sarsano returns to Piston Recordings with the superb three track Amnesia EP. The last time we caught this Italian house music maestro was back in 2016 when he gave us the excellent UndaFunk EP. From a young age he developed a passion for music and the visual arts. At 14 he started to take notice of the Hip Hop scene in his home city as well as starting to get into DJing. He understood that scratching and cutting was an important form of entertainment and this led to him generating a collection of vinyl ranging from funk to disco and pop to new wave. from here to collect discs ranging from funk to disco, from pop to new wave. In the late 80s and early 90s Italy experienced the house phenomenon and this appealed to him very much and brought him into contact with many DJ’s. He soon discovered the Balearic beat after a Summer in Ibiza and found that house music was his passion. Over the years he has played alongside the likes of Jose de Divina, DJ Oliver, Willie Graff, Tuccillo, Alfredo, Pippi, Jon Sa Trinxa and many more. Another fantastic cut from this guy and we’re glad to have him back.
Amnesia digs deep into the realms of house music with a thumping solid beat leading the way. An array of rhythmic percussions get the hips swaying as a strong, probing bass stab rocks the low end. Cool chords deliver a smooth house groove while a super lead synth weaves a chaotic funky riff that brightens up the sound. Top notch stuff to work the floors for sure.
Forget is a very well crafted slice of deep house goodness. The intro boasts a strong, punchy kick drum followed by a range of shuffling percussions. You find yourself hooked instantly on the rhythm that will definitely get you on the dancefloor. A deep, gritty bassline punches through adding an extra rhythmic layer to an already moving groove. Trippy pianos create superb textured layers that bring in a darker element to the sound making this a definite contender for the late night slot.
Voices delivers a fine slice of deep, groovy house music which is powered by a solid drum section and an equally powerful bassline. The bass really becomes infectious as the low frequency tones invade your space with a relentless, probing agenda. Groovy pianos add warmth to the sound as a jazzy lead takes us through a myriad of colourful notes. A fantastic cut that will not disappoint.
