Argentina based DJ and producer duo Agustin Dutari and Mauro Mosciaro return to Piston with the superb Time On Air EP. We last caught a glimpse of their studio talents with their debut here back in April 2017 with the fantastic Behind The Beat which gained great support. These guys are two clear examples of how Argentinean dance culture is shifting and moving, especially towards the rhythms of house. In the studio they combine their skill sets to produce only the finest quality beats and grooves. Agustin utilises his DJ skills, which he has presented at top clubs including Pacha, Ibiza and in showcases for Ibiza Global Radio. He has also travelled the beautiful Balearic Islands playing at different beach clubs and bars such as Sands, Delano, White, Magic Boat Party and Veto Social Club. Mauro combines his career as a music producer with DJing. He runs his own studio and when he’s not laying down house laden beats he’s working with bands and solo artists as a sound engineer. Great to see them back, and this time we’re in for some tasty deep house grooves.
Time On Air is a simply wonderful slice of deep house that burrows deep into your soul with its raw emotion and sultry piano chords. A tight drum section leads the way as playful basses accompany those soft chords and dreamy strings. Endearing spoken vocals add lots of character to the track, luring us into the groove and forcing us to move with the flow. The perfect fodder for an afternoon session to get you warmed up.
Root and Deep intros with a nice chunky kick drum and droning bass combi. Cool percussions form up delivering a rhythmic groove which is enhanced by warm piano chords and a more prominent, probing bassline. Fleeting melodies swirl overhead as strings and pads, offering a slight jazzy groove to the proceedings. A wonderfully rich sound that captivates and a definite floor mover no doubt.
Still On Piano opens with a soft pad that rises and falls alongside a punchy kick drum and sharp clap. Cool keys fade in as a dancing bassline creates an infectious rhythm that makes you move. The pads intensify as melodic piano sequences come through. Deeply hypnotic and groovy, this one will be a welcome addition in any session.
Feeling Good intros with a cool breaks pattern to the backdrop of a chattering crowd. Warm chords lie softly in the background as a memorable vocal comes in alongside strong pianos and contrasting bright melodies. The drum arrangement morphs into a 4×4 and breaks hybrid offering a dynamic groove that works beautifully with the deep chords and wonderful vocal. Top notch stuff that will not disappoint.
