Deep house stalwart Victor returns to Eyepatch with his two track joint “Some Mellow Deep”. His last release “Deep House Is A Feeling” was well received from all quarters with support from all over. When he’s not producing stunning tracks Victor regularly features on Bonzai’s Basik Beats radioshow and always has a fine selection of top grooves on offer.

The title track on this release is one very classy slice of deep house, kicking off with a soft organ and a very sharp contrasting synth line, the bassline comes through early and hypnotises throughout. Tight drum and percussion arrangement provide a steady rhythm and groovy chords keep this track moving brilliantly. The FX come in just at the right time and some seriously expert filtering adds depth to this. Yet again we see pure quality from Victor, awesome stuff.

Now for something different, “Run For Life” is a track that blends many forms of house into something special. Stepping away from the usual deep house formula we get a classic offset bassline, the breakbeats bring back memories of lower tempo oldskool hardcore and the synth work is pure house driven which gives this sound a lot of character. A huge track that will stand up well in any club and keep those asses shaking.

“How Could I” intros with a dark vocal sample and super low end sub bass with deep housey chords, a cool solid kick ensues and a steady rhythm is born. The track builds nicely with some smooth keys and a multitude of FX which are expertly placed which adds character. An overall energetic vibe from this that will be a welcome addition in any deep set.
