A welcome return to Bonzai Progressive for UK based producer Paul Kieran with the tow tracker Check One. His last outing, Monsieur EP was very well received and no doubt we are gonna see more groovy progressive vibes here today.
Check One intros with cool percussions as a sharp snare hits the downbeat along with a crisp hat. A huge chunky kick bursts through and gets the groove flowing beautifully as a lush bass comes in. Cool vocal samples doing the classic -check one, check two- and doing it in style with echo and reverb effects popped into the right places. A quirky little synth blip is the perfect addition to the sound with an electro styled wood click thrown in to the mix. The break reveals a classy piano sequence that just blows the track up superbly, top stuff yet again from Phil!
Next we have Lyme that sets off with a fading in percussion arrangement and settling into a breakbeat styled pattern with rising FX going off in the background before a short silence and then slamming into a super groovy workout. Nice tight construction on the drums let loose flowing rhythms while a laid back bass packs a huge punch. Short, sharp synth stabs permeate the sound as the filters do their thing. Nice, smooth flowing deep progressive house that will get a lot of attention.
