By 2001 he decided to become a DJ where he kept an open mind on genres which led to him getting gigs at top venues. 2011 saw a surge in his productions and his tracks have seen good support from all over.
The original Mix sets off with a true progressive vibe as very cool percussions lead us up to a brilliant chunky kick. This is soon joined by a surreal collection of pads and a fantastic arp which takes us into the main track. A smooth bassline sits perfectly in the sound as it trundles along with an infectious synth hook going off overhead. Classy tweaks on the synth take us up to the first break where a female spoken vocal comes through reporting a zombie apocalypse. Superb stuff and a definite must for those darker progressive rooms!
Napalm & D-phrag are back at BP for remix duties on this brilliant track. We last saw the guys with their ‘Tour De Force’ which saw great support across the spectrum. Here they get right down to business with a brilliant remix. The intro boasts a single percussion with a deep and droning synth that pulsates through the sound. This leads us beautifully into a cool drum arrangement and sets the scene for this fantastic journey. Anticipation builds as risers take us through the sections before a superb, driving bassline takes over creating a sublime atmosphere. The break is where it’s at, dark pads weave through and soon a brilliant melody takes hold which is in perfect contrast to the darker element. Look out for the chord changes here, they really set the track on fire, stunning!
Yuriy From Russia continues to impress with the sheer quality of his work. Here he is on remix duty and what a display he puts on. Big chunky kicks and subtle percussions are met with a deep bassline as a mesmerising synth line scurries through the sound brilliantly. The track breaks to the spoken vocal as soft melodic sequences begin to form to the backdrop of a surreal pad before coming back into full on progressive mode. Two guys who hadn’t worked together until 2013 are currently unleashing a fierce partnership with high quality tracks at every turn. Phi Phi and Airwave are back with another stomper entitled ‘The Horn’ and comes with three superb remixes. These guys really need no introduction as they are stalwarts in their field. Both guys are currently gigging hard in both clubs and bigger events while also getting into the studio either together or with others. Very exciting times ahead with this combination!
The Original Mix is a full on progressive stomper that will have any floor rocking. From the get go the track drives hard with a massive kick and solid percussion arrangement. The bassline bubbles up from below and is the powerhouse to the track while a droning synth lurks in the rear waiting to pounce. Brilliantly worked FX add character to this sound and a massive scary movie type riser takes us to the break where a stuttering bass note carries the groove alongside some cool vocals. This takes us slamming back into the main track with gusto and puts this is the must have category, not to be missed!
Tallinn’s own dynamic duo are back on remix duty with their Mindgamers Remix. These guys also need no introduction as they have a raft of top quality tracks and remixes under the Bonzai umbrella. At present they are working on new material as well as more remixes, so definitely worth keeping an eye on. The remix intros with fading pad that rises with intensity to a nice chunky kick and a crispy hat combination with some very cool synth voices also coming through. The fantastic offset bass reverberates through the sound and is joined by a tough synth on the offbeat. In contrast, a wonderful melodic arp weaves through the sound and takes us into the break where a beautiful melodic sequence place with superb pads and strings before slamming us right back into the main groove for the duration. Top stuff yet again from these guys!
Finnish DJ and producer Cid Inc. aka Henri Hurtig is back at Bonzai Progressive after his superb remix on Manu Riga’s ‘Cimmerian’. Henrik runs his own label, Replug and has a raft of releases across many labels. Subtle intro on the remix with a flat kick and smooth rhythmic percussions. A deep bass soon begins to froth as it bubbles up from below and brings with it a driving force with hypnotic tendencies. Nice and solid workout here as the sounds merge beautifully with the addition of quality FX. A tense atmosphere is created mainly form that driving bass as it evolves and transforms itself brilliantly. On the break the bass takes a back seat paving the way for some melodic sequences with a gritty edge. An epic ride for sure and a must in any box!
Yuriy From Russia offers us his remix and this guy is making a lot of waves at the moment. His tracks have featured on top download stores and DJ playlists alike for some time and with more remixes and original material to come it will be well worth keeping an eye on this superb talent from Russia. Big phat kicks provide the intro and are soon joined by sharp hats and some very cool percussive elements. A huge pulsating bass comes out of nowhere will be an absolute floor shaker. Strong and solid rhythms are formed with a tight percussion arrangement and a scary movie type riser takes us through each section. Subtle pads and soft melodies sit back and are brought forward by a beautiful guitar riff and ever increasing strings. A very cool ebb and flow effect on the groove that will definitely be a feature among many jocks!
Napalm aka Hungarian producer Nanai PalIt and D-Phrag aka Bulgarian DJ Ivan Filipov return to Bonzai Progressive with their latest offering ‘Tour De Force’ and comes backed up with two top notch remixes. The guys’ last outing was ‘Boiling Point’ which was very well received from all quarters.
The Original Mix intros strongly with nice chunky kicks and a soft hat combination. Deep droning basses rise from below giving an air of intensity to the sound which is further enhanced by fading synths and brilliant ethnically charged instruments. Dark grooves are formed from these sounds and culminate in serious progressive workout which is perfect fodder for those darker edged sets, brilliant!
The long serving Bonzai family member Manu Riga is up on remix duty with a wonderfully constructed cut. Manu remains a busy guy in the studio with lots of work on the go including his own material as well as a raft of future remixes which we are excited to see. Here he takes the track on its journey through the darker recesses of progressive house. Powerful basses attract a lot of attention here and are given stark contrasts with lush pads that linger far behind. A very cool ethnic vibe rings through the sound and is further enhanced by a superb vocal sample which is the perfect addition to the sound. Big strong grooves from Manu yet again and a must for any box.

‘Aloha’ sees the second release from the newly revamped moniker Sector 7 which is the brainchild of Belgian legend M.I.K.E.. With a hectic schedule we are delighted that this guy finds the time to produce under this guise as it was a popular attraction in the good old days, and still remains to this day. Aside from the Original we have a top class line up of remix artists on show in what will prove to be a very well received pack.
The Original Mix intros with a punchy kick that leads into subtle percussions before breaking into a cool chord sequence. The bassline comes into the track and really sets things alight as the layers build with intensity. The main riff makes a show midway transforming the track into a full on progressive tech stomper which will grace many a dance floor for sure.
The very popular Relaunch is next up to remix, dark progressive vibes are what this guys is all about at the moment. German based Maik Relaunch is fresh off the back of a superb remix on Thorin’s ‘End Game’ which saw rave reviews and high positions on top download portals. Here the temperatures are rising with a full on progressive monster in the making. Right from the off you get a real sense of deep rooted nature of the progressive vibe within this sound. Snappy kicks and wide hats lead beautifully to a driving bassline while melodic pads rise up through the sound. Melodies are used teasingly on the break before powering back into full on prog mode, quality stuff and one to watch no doubt.
Audio Noir is back after his last track ‘Floorlicker’ which performed very well indeed. Here we see his popular Rekonstruction style remix. It’s worth keeping an eye on this guy as there is much more original and remix work in the pipeline. Nice chunky kicks fill the intro and lead into a very cool synth and bass combi before the percussions begin to show and taking the track to a strong progressive groove. On the first break the track transforms with a huge retro styled riff that will be instantly recognisable and loved by all who remember it. The main break brings with it subtle melodic pads alongside an almost siren like synth that takes us right back to pure unadulterated progressive goodness.
Up next we have Yuriy From Russia and his superb remix. Yuriy has been busy on the remix front and just recently we seen his track ‘Do You Feel’ featuring Ange, perform very well indeed. Here he takes us deep into the darker side of progressive house. The intro boasts a brilliant kick that packs a huge punch, this is coupled with a rhythmic hi hat sequence and leads nicely to a cool flowing bassline. Percussive elements continue to build throughout the track before the bassline is joined by some serious synth work that ramps up the groove perfectly. The track takes a twist when some melodic synths make a show adding diverse textures to the overall sound. Stunning remix that will be sure to grab a lot of attention.
Back from his last release on BP with “Reborn” alongside Manu Riga, Nico Parisi delivers “Caress” which comes with no less than five fantastic remixes. Nico has been very busy lately with his own productions and a stack of remixes, he also has a hectic DJ schedule with many gigs across Belgium. Recently he featured in the launch of a new concept night “INSANE” which is a product of DJunkee and Bonzai progressive. He will also feature at this year’s Bonzai Retro event in November with the crème de la crème of Belgian DJ’s.
The Original mix is a strong, solid slice of progressive house vibes. Snappy kicks and a subtle melodic sequence provide the intro with rising pads soon coming through. Percussions slowly build and form into a cool flowing rhythm while an early and intense build up leads us into a full on prog monster. Offbeat bass drives the track forward with excellent synth work keeping the intense nature on point. Wonderful stuff from Nico and a must have in any box.
First up on remix is Inkfish who are four Swedes. Mattias Lindblom, Jesper Lindqvist and brothers Andreas and Johan Hermansson. These guys run their own label, Inkfish Recordings with Mattias or Andreas taking care of the production side of things. Johan and Andreas do all the DJ work while Jesper is a self-styled Bez from Happy Mondays character. Together these guys have a very impressive list of releases across many top labels and now we see their first appearance on Bonzai Progressive. The remix intros with some cool FX, synths and pads before a nice chunky kick takes over. The bass delivers a deep grooving flow while rising pads add beautiful textures with subtle melodic hints. Solid track with a big punch!
The very popular Manu Riga is up next with his Sofia By Night Remix. After their last and very successful outing on “Reborn” it’s no wonder these guys are working together again, they click well in the studio and no doubt we will see a lot more from them in the future. The remix goes into full on mode with a massive snappy kick with a sharp click on top which really sets the scene up well for a trip down progressive lane. Some great FX and synth work give off subtle melodies with a very teasing vox lying in wait in the background. Superb bassline works wonders throughout the track and makes this a track you will never want to end.
Philthy Chit deliver a stunningly epic progressive house experience with their remix. The intro slowly builds with simple percussions and a hypnotic synth note before blazing into a driving deep bass led groove. Intensity rises with wonderful pads and an amazing vocal sample. The magic happens on the break with deep resonating synths and melodic sequences before getting back into a full blown prog monster. A sure fire hit and a definite must have for those progressive sets.
Next up on the remix is Eric Hubo whom Nico has worked with in the past. Belgium based Eric has featured on tracks from Nico’s Danza Records including “Metro”, “S.A.X.X.” and “Move Your Body” as well as works on LCD Recordings on “Romeo and Juliet”. His remixes have also appeared on “A State Of Trance Classics Vol. 7″ back in 2012. The remix sets off with a smooth kick and offset bass which is the perfect foundation for a progressive house journey. Cool FX and well crafted percussion provide a steady rhythm before the track settles in for the duration as the bassline shines through. Sweet melodic pianos are the focus on the break as sweeping phased synth pads shore up the background. The track kicks back into the steady groove and a beautiful prog house record in born, superb stuff.
Yuriy From Russia is our next guest with his Dark Remix. Yuriy has been churning out top quality productions in recent times most notably with his latest offering “Do You Feel” featuring the vocal talents of Ange. Chunky kicks and sharp hats get us moving on the intro with a warpy, thick bass soon following. Sweeping synths begin to come through and they provide stark contrasts with the bass which makes for a cool dynamic. Blippy FX work adds texture to the sound and all the while the groove has built into full on progressive mode. The break brings forth those sweeping pads and builds back into the main groove with a wall of noise. Very intense and very epic piece of work which no doubt get attention from all quarters.
