Belgian DJ and producer Nico Parisi releases his latest work ‘Soulit’ which comes with three wonderful remixes. Nico’s tracks have been featuring heavily on many sets and charts in the last 6 months or so. Most notably his track ‘Caress’ (Philthy Chit Remix) was a popular choice on Paul Oakenfold’s Full On Flouro show. A testament to the quality on offer from one of Belgium’s legendary artists.
First up the Original Mix gets us going with a very smooth progressive vibe, the intro boasts a melancholic soft melody which gives rise to a superb throbbing bassline. Nice big kicks enter and deliver cool rhythms with the help of tight percussion arrangement. The track builds beautifully as the melodies unwind and dominate the break. Cool vocal samples come through on the break as the synths intensify before slamming back into full on progressive mode for the duration. Excellent stuff from Nico and no doubt we will be seeing a lot of this track in the future.
Sector 7 aka M.I.K.E. is up first on the remix with a proper gritty progressive edged workout. Mike, as you would imagine continues to be an extremely hardworking DJ and producer with gigs taking him all around the world. Back at his New York base he delves into his studio to churn out some of the finest tunes around and this remix is no exception. Pumping kicks alongside a powerful vocal get the track started while cool percussive elements build nicely and stamp out flowing rhythms. The bassline plunders in and the whole dynamic changes taking us deep into the progressive sound. Cool synth riffs wait patiently in the background before being unleashed on the break in all their glory. Stunning work from Mike and sure to draw a lot of attention.
Audio Noir sure does get around. Not content with his own quality productions, he lends his skills to other tracks with outstanding results such as this. Audio Noir’s Pressure Mix takes the progressive vibe on the original into the deeper realms. From the get go we are drawn in by a chunky kick and tribal led percussion arrangement with a massive resonating bass coming from way down below. The vocals are used well with a classic sample thrown to great effect. Intense synths sit back as the bass morphs into a metallic sounding riff that dominates the break before the synths show their full force. More top quality prog out of Australia that is most definitely not to be missed.

The remix blasts into existence with a monster kick grungy bass combo, percussions slowly build and lead to a fiery rhythm. The vocals have been give a gritty makeover adding to the dark edge on the track. Fantastic synths loiter in the background as hypnotic sound dominates throughout. The break offers a softer side to the track before crashing right back into that solid progressive groove. Simply stunning from Thorin and will no doubt feature in those tougher edged sets.

The bassline sits well with the sound while in the background smooth sweeping pads provide a solid backbone. The sounds are expertly crafted and fit beautifully within the grooves creating a trippy and hypnotic ride making this a must have for those progressive jocks.

Subtle percussions are perfect here as the main focus lies with the hypnotically driven nature of the track, superb stuff.
Beat Maniacs aka Petar Bogojevic and Nikola Radivojevic are next up on the remix and the guys are fresh off the back of their Bonzai debut with ‘Messine’. Here the guys veer towards a more house orientated vibe while retaining a progressive nature. Cool synth pads work well throughout while a simple melody plays amongst the grooves, great stuff.
Audio Noir delivers the first of two remixes with this one being a solid slice of prog on his Rekonstruction Mix. This guy knows how to work a remix and here he sets the bar high with a strong and steady rhythmic intro. Chunky kicks and crispy hats keep the flow and some outstanding synth work adds that progressive element we love. Sweeping pads ebb and flow before an amazing bassline takes total control of the sound. A definite one to watch here!

The intro on the Original Mix takes no prisoners as retro inspired synths do their work. Big chunky kicks pack a punch and as the layers build a solid rhythm has taken hold. Lots going on within the sound and you will find yourself locked in and finding new paths with every listen. Sweet melodic plucks are a cool contrast to the robust synths which transform with every phrase. The break shows a myriad of sounds as the track builds back up and crashes straight into this full on prog stomper, superb stuff!
The very popular duo from Tallinn are at it again, Mindgamers aka Zas and Sanze dish out their recipe for fine teched up progressive vibes. The guys provide their usual stunning kicks and drum arrangement which always has huge floor appeal. The baseline has a nice bounce to it and will be sure to get the toes tapping in no time. Accompanying the baseline is a wonderful sub melody that itself has a huge impact. On the break the track is stripped bare to reveal a sweet melodic synth that soon dissipates as the main track kicks back in, great stuff from the guys and a must for any box.
Relaunch aka German based Maik Relaunch is at the mixing desk next with a stunner of a remix. Maik was first a clubber and then became inspired by the legendary Dorian Gray which set him on his DJ journey. Production soon followed and he was quickly affiliated with the likes of John 00 Fleming among others. Releases on Bonzai Progressive, Green Martian, LCD Recordings, Camouflage, JOOF, Borderline Music and Mistique Music over the years have marked Maik as a highly respected artist who is in great demand for remixes. The mix sets off in true progressive style as the baseline becomes the main focus with its rolling effect and sitting well beside a huge kick that will rock any speaker. Synths appear as the layers begin to form up and take us on a frenzied ride into a progressive house fuelled world. A proper prog track with hypnotic qualities and a track that will gain a lot of support, no doubt.
French veteran producer Quadran aka Philippe Van Mullem delivers us his latest progressive stomper entitled “Rumour” which is backed up with three top quality remixes. We get straight into action soon after with a brilliant offset driving bass and superb synth hook. An epic deep progressive journey filled with superb basses and delicate melodies are what’s in store here and this will not disappoint.
UK based Anthony Yarranton is back on the remix roster after his track “Cotton Candy” received a warm reception. Here he takes a serious progressive direction with the sound, steady rhythms are built up with multi layered percussions and a strong kick while the bassline sits very subtly on the low end and rises when called for. Wonderfully atmospheric pads come through on the break as the track goes deeper into the vibe, a very strong track and one that will see a lot of air time for sure.
Dutch producer Thorin enters the remix line-up with a stunning tougher edged prog rework. Thorin is a busy guy at the moment with new material his top priority which we can’t wait to see, so watch this space. The remix has that true progressive vibe with the chunky kicks dominating, tight hats compliment the sound with a surging bassline bringing up the rear. An array of wonderful FX do a great job on the sound while on the break a melodic arp sweeps through. Superb stuff from Thorin and sure to draw a lot of attention.

Dutch native Thorin normally resides in strong tribal house rhythms but today we get to see his different side which stands out very well. This track comes with three stunning remixes.
The original is a raw urban groove with a hypnotic bassline and some seriously well worked drum patterns. Beautiful melodic arps are contrasted with a gritty street theme while a myriad of FX tie the track up brilliantly. Very strong vibe with a tribal element coming through on the wonderful percussions, top notch stuff!
Dutch remix duo Kevin Ten Cate and Ton Oortgiesen make up Undercurve and they step up to the remix in style. Big synths and subtle pianos overlay a laidback groove with a tough bassline giving an edge, real nice vibe.
Another native of the Netherlands, Ruben Hulzebosch aka SynnyS joins the remix crew with his Evolving Humans Remix. Ruben started off his music career as a hardocre DJ, this soon evolved into techno and acid with a few releases over the years. This remix kicks off with some cool tablas over a deep house type organ with the bass fading in and leading up to a wonderful drum arrangement. The track takes on that raw gritty nature which fits so well in this release.
Junkie Digital is up next with a superb remix. Much more melodic theme with some amazing piano riffs and synth work taking place. Super sweet arps tease and tease until the break where a huge drum and bass arrangement raids the senses with tough gritty snares and kicks, total surprise with this and one that will have a huge impact!
