Historus makes the switch from Green Martian over to Bonzai Progressive with the superb Spray Me. We last saw him over on GM with Glass Rose which gained great support back in June 2016. A DJ, producer and musician he started his career as a rhythm guitarist in a hard rock band. For several years, he was looking for new sounds and he was inspired by the deep sound of techno music. Sometime later, he switched to a deeper-sounding music, such as Tech House and Deep House. He has released quality tracks on various labels including Baroque, Hydrogen, Bavaria Recordings and System Recordings to name just a few. In 2008 he had started his own label – Historus, which gave an opportunity for little-known musicians to exercise their creativity. For a few years he was a resident in several clubs and internet radio podcasts. Currently, his company is engaged in dance projects, producing and organization. Nice to have him on our flagship imprint and we hope to see more soon.
Argentinean DJ and producer Sherr aka German Basualdo debuts on Piston Recordings with the fantastic Los Monjes EP. Since his childhood he developed a passion for the art of sound. His love for the creation of rhythms and melodies grew over time, then he discovered house and fell in love with this rhythm. An obsessive collector always open to new inspirations of house music, he immediately began to understand and create his own music. His DJ sets are always fun, original and full of grooves that have made thousands of Buenos Aires clubbers dance over the years. He has seen releases on Innocent Music, Act Natural Records, Deeper Records, Alboratory, Tip Tap Records and Baile Musik. Great to have him on board at Piston.
Buenos Aires based DJ and producer Ivo C debuts on Piston with the superb It’s Time EP. Ivo has been releasing quality content since 2013 and his work has appeared on the likes of Deepmentality Records, Club Rayo Disquets, Kermesse Music, Votan Records and more. He puts in a lot of time DJing at various events around his hometown and beyond and his sets are renowned for pumping the crowd with energy and dynamic mixing. Great to have him on board at Piston and no doubt we’ll be seeing more from him in the future.
Alvaro Martins aka Upright is back at Piston and once again we are treated to another superb tech flavoured offering on the three tracker I Like This EP. This one marks his fifth release as well as appearances on The Best Of Piston Recordings 2015 and 2016. Alvaro has a clear vision on how he wants his sound to be received, strong rhythms and deep chords, the perfect recipe to light up floors. Always a pleasure to have his work drop into the mail box and we hope to see more soon.
Our My House Is Your House series continues and in this 14th instalment we’ve gathered together 30 choice cuts from a range of labels including Piston Recordings, HoF, Eyepatch Recordings, GMR and C&D. Tracks and remixes come from the likes of Joal, Charles Ramirez, Mike Denitz, Arturo Garces, Marco Madia, JR From Dallas, Gusher, Bonetti, Cerillo, J.Nandez, Barkai & Babylon, Polyrhythm, Victor Maximiliano, Pulp Talks and many more. Deep, Tech and pure House grooves are on offer that will keep any party in full swing which is no surprise given the calibre of artists on show. SteMI aka Italian DJ and producer Stefano Minturnino returns to Piston alongside debutant Silvestro S with their superb two tracker entitled Monday Night. SteMI’s last appearance here was back in June 2016 with Timeless and since then he’s released several tracks on various labels with each one consisting of top quality vibes. Silvestro S has also been dishing out top notch vibes on different labels for over 6 years now and his work is very much revered in the scene. A dynamic pairing here that we know will yield some positive vibes among many, great to have them at Piston.
Monotronik are Portuguese DJ and producer duo Freddy Lourenzo and D’Joseph Alves and they return to Piston Recordings with the superb Subculture. Their last outing here was their debut Divergence, back in early Summer 2016, was very well received indeed having landed on many charts and playlists. The pair DJ regularly all over the place and are known for their tight, groovy sets. They’ve put out several top quality cuts recently on Underground Source Records and Sync Forward, moving between tech house and deep house. Great to see them back once again, well worth keeping an eye on.
Florence based DJ and producer Klaus Keller debuts on Piston recordings with the superb two tracker, The Beat Don’t Stop. Klaus started producing music at 14, just for passion, but he was always trying to improve and refine his style which, got him noticed some years later. He has released his work on various outlets including Something Different, Moustache Label and Different Attitudes. Klaus likes to deliver a hybrid sound from the worlds of digital and analogue, and this is what we are treated to on this one.
Hailing out of Stettin, Poland, DJ and producer duo Dawid Korniak and Michael Modoolar make up Floating Groove and here they debut on Monog with the superb Verana EP. The guys got together in 2015 and started to think about their musical direction and performance with their first release coming on Mexican imprint Elite Records at the start of 2016. A real dynamic duo who are shaping up to be pretty important in the world of electronic music, definitely ones to watch for the future.
Mario Silva aka Eat Dust returns to Piston with a tasty three tracker entitled Come Together EP. His last outing here – Ghetto Hustle – was very well received indeed having featured on Beatport upon release back in August 2016. Mario also enjoys releases on other labels and his style is a welcome addition in many sets. Always a pleasure to hear new sounds from this guy and no doubt we’ll be seeing more in the future.
Spanish DJ and producer Josu Freire marks his Piston Recordings debut with the fantastic two track Fresh EP. Since 2013 Josu has been dishing out quality cuts at every turn, his music has reached far and wide on several labels and his sound is very much respected by his peers. We’re delighted to have him on board here and hope to see more soon.
Italian DJ and producer Christian Bove debuts on Piston with a funked up tech house groover entitled Back To Back EP. Growing up in Milan, Christian became interested in music at age 14 and, with help and support from family and friends he started to play out at various parties. At 16 he got his first big gig at Bolgia’s back room where he came face to face with top jocks from around the world. In 2014/2015 he started to play in the main room starting off the proceedings for some major nights. A superb up and comer in the world of producing, this guy is definitely one to watch.
Sardinia born DJ and producer Mend returns to Piston with the fantastic three track tech house joint entitled Fusion EP. We last caught a glimpse of this guy back in April 2016 with his Visionair EP. Delighted to see him back once again and we look forward to more, but for now enjoy this super fine tech house cut.
Madrid based DJ and producer Mike Denitz debuts on Piston Recordings with a fine two track EP entitled Come Back. Since the start of 2015 this guy has been churning out quality cuts on various labels and gaining an impressive support base for his efforts. Delighted to have him on board at Piston and we hope to see more soon.
Russian artist Heyspace debuts on Bonzai Progressive with the fantastic Giaguaro which comes backed up with two superb remixes. Heyspace is a young and ambitious electronic musician who grew up in St. Petersburg, Russia – a city bursting with creativity from those who live in it. Spending his formative years in a cultural centre of such calibre helped him form his own style of music. Co-operating with leaders of modern electronic music culture, participating in dance festivals and charity concerts brought this young musician to the attention of the world. Combining new electronic technologies with classical methods of musical energy, Heyspace stays true to his mission of giving the audience particles of joy and happiness in every song. Already he has seen several releases on top labels and now we welcome him to Bonzai.
