Brett Lawrence returns to Piston with his two tracker Different Heat EP. Brett made waves with his last Piston release ‘Remember That Jack?’ and this time around we are in for more of the same deep house quality vibes.
Different Heat gets you right into a smooth deep house vibe right from the off with a nice chunky kick and muted synth combo that builds beautifully into a full on pumping deep house cut. Nice crispy hats provide a cool contrast to the lower end sounds as a silky analogue bass come through. You feel the groove move you as the track progresses with the addition of some classy sounds and a well worked side chained synth pad. For the most part the track is dominated by a superb piano chord giving the track so much character, great stuff from Brett and not to be missed!
People In High Places intros with a fading sound before you get slapped right in the face with a phat kick that remains a big force on the track. Sharp hats are soon joined by a very cool drum arrangement as smooth chords litter the background. A sweeping synth pad filters through as the groove gathers momentum and takes us up to the break where a cool vocal sample joins the party, all the while a stunningly deep bass shores up the lower end in style as this perfectly tweaked deep house joint weaves its magic, brilliant!
Brighton based UK producer Kenny Keys debuts on Piston with wonderful Source and comes backed up with two quality remixes. Kenny has been delivering his faultless cuts for a few years now and his tracks have appeared on Massive Music, GND Records and Kompass Recordings. We’re delighted to have this guy on board and look forward to more in the future.
First up we have the Original Mix of Source which intros with a brilliant percussion driven groove alongside a punchy club kick. The rolling percs are tweaked to perfection and become a major player on the track. A fantastic deep sub bass bursts through with a cool plucky synth over the top which is replaced with a sublime sliding riff. Super tight arrangement that will be a big feature for many floors no doubt.
No introduction needed for Piston boss Rogerio Martins as he steps up with a superb remix. Beautifully tapered kicks pack a huge punch on the intro and throughout as the rolling percussions build us up to the main groove. The groove is intensified with a brilliant deep bass that has the power to move, this is coupled with a classy chord that filters in and out beautifully. Silky smooth female vocals give it the club feel making this an absolute gem of a track that will light up many floors this summer!
Italian DJ and producer Marcus Raute spends his time between Naples and Berlin where no doubt he draws from both cultures to refine his own sounds. Marcus is a player in the modern underground world where he dishes out his brand of all things House and Techno. Here he delivers a solid remix that intros with a chunky kick and cool, crispy hats and percussions. Deep chords rise up from the depths and blossom into a very cool, sliding riff before leaving the scene and letting those tight drums, pulsing basses and vocals do their work. The break reveals those chords once again and locks us in for the duration, superb stuff!
Based in Barcelona, Spain, GarcyNoise aka Ruben Garcia returns to Piston with this stunner entitled The Colour Of Your Heart. Ruben has featured on Piston before with cuts showing up on The Secrets Of The Trade 2 and Best Of Piston Recordings 2012 as well as the diverse She’s Got It EP back in 2012. Considered an international force in electronic music Ruben has worked with top producers from around the world and is a highly respected DJ and producer. He set up his own label Justified Cause Recordings which has spawned a whole host of top talent and led to the formation of a sub label, Justified Entertainment which itself has a very impressive roster. Vinyl is a big part of his ethos and he has been collecting since a young age, at 17 he started to play at parties around his hometown and beyond before breaking out onto the international scene.
First up we have the Original Mix of The Colour Of Your Heart with its electrified intro that features very cool FX accompanied by a raw bass sound. A nice phat kick soon appears and the groove starts to take shape beautifully. The track takes on a very street vibe with gritty sounds and sharp percussions. The arrangement is tight and combines well giving off that raw house vibe which becomes so infectious. The break introduces a smooth funky synth that gives so much character and makes this a definite must have for those deep sets.
Spanish DJ and producer Andres Boned aka Bonetti delivers a stunning remix of The Colour Of Your Heart as he takes the sound through a pure house workout with sublime twists and turns. We recently saw Bonetti’s ‘My House Of Neglect’ on Piston which done the rounds in style. This remix is top notch as it nurtures the original sounds into a driving house groove filled with sublime organ riffs that will have you hooked in no time and a super tight drum arrangement that will have the asses shaking all night long. All this is shored up by a very cool and deep bass that sits perfectly within the sound. Cool vocal samples are evident throughout and keep with the street vibe of the original. Top notch stuff from Bonetti, not to be missed.
The next track we have is the Original Mix of Not NY. The intro is a smooth percussion led sequence with a classic wood hit that drives the tempo beautifully. A fantastic stab teases its way into the sound and soon dominates the track before a nice chunky kick gets the track really moving. Classic electro sounds are there to be discovered as the track evolves with the master stroke being that groovy bassline that seeps right into your soul as it commands authority throughout the sound along with its groovy synth riff partner. Nice vocal samples are the perfect addition here and round off a stunning display of house music production, superb stuff!
Italian DJ and producer Ivan Masa offers up his remix of Not NY. Ivan’s last outing on Piston was the stunning ‘Don’t Stop The Groove Man’ which solidifies this guys talents as a top end producer. Here the remix takes the groove that little bit deeper with its tough bass that pulsates right through the sound. Cool drum arrangements provide a solid rhythmic bass as classic vocal samples come through. A stabby synth begins to form and transforms into a tasty riff that keeps this track firmly at the deeper end. The break sees more of that synth stab as beautifully placed strings and pads begin to filter in. A brilliant slice of house that will do well on the floors no doubt.
Austrian duo Mann & Klamm debut on Piston with this floor stomping three tracker entitled ‘It’s All On You EP’. The guys met in 2010 and since then they have been on the international DJ circuit playing top venues alongside other top jocks. Sexy house cuts are what the guys are about and their track on Houseology ‘Don’t Hold Me Back’ is a perfect example.
The Original Mix of ‘It’s All On You’ sets off in a smooth and groovy beat with some cool electro styled percussions going off. Big chunky kicks and crispy hats keep the rhythm flowing as a pounding bass enters the fray. All along we have a sultry vocal which gives the track so much character and soon the vocals are joined with a warbly deep house chord that sets the track off beautifully. Superb stuff from the guys!
Next up is the DOS Remix of ‘It’s All On You’. The intro gets right up in your face with a bouncy kick and hat combi that will get those toes tapping. The vocal comes through nicely alongside a cool chord and strings. The plucky bass ramps up the groove and leaves us with a well balanced deep house joint that will do well on the floors, no doubt.
‘We Know It Is’ intros with a very cool percussive element alongside a low end kick, crispy hats soon join in and a cool rhythm is formed. The bass creeps up on you and soon you are wrapped up in its strong and powerful groove. Beautifully layered chords work in tandem with that bass with stunning results. Cool vocals are dotted throughout giving the track cool twist, big floor friendly track here, not to be missed.
‘People’ has that classic kick and hat intro we all know and love. A brilliant repetitive vocal fades through as the layers build around this solid groove. The bass has a powerful resonating tone that creates an infectious groove and have you shakin that ass in no time. Fantastic stabs give the track a pure house vibe and takes us up to the break where the vocal becomes prominent before the stabs take over again and bring us right back to this solid, deep house stomper!
Italian producer Marcus Raute makes his Piston debut with this stunning three tracker ‘Basement Love EP’. Marcus resides in Berlin and he is a modern producer of electronic music, full of innovation he strives to refine his sound whether it be House or Techno.
First up we have the soulful ‘Basement Love’ which gets the blood pumping from the off as a big chunky kick and pulsating bass set the scene. Staccato chords chip away throughout giving off a powerful groove and taking us right into the heart of deep house. A fantastic vocal works wonders here and gives that soulful touch. Superb stuff from Marcus, one to watch!
‘Be Free’ is up next and gets right into your face with a massive kick that will move any floor. A cool vocal sample wafts through and a smooth pumping bass keeps the rhythm flowing. Sweeping pads and funky keys are met with a brilliant female vocal giving the track a real fresh uplift. A monster of a tune that will have floors bouncing no doubt!
Rounding up this wonderful EP we have ‘Gi-Give Me’. The intro boasts a cool chunky kick and rhythmic percussion arrangement with a very cool stuttered vocal sample. The bass soon takes over as it powers through the sound. Beautifully crafted strings and an infectious chord riff on top of fantastic vocal samples put this track firmly in the deep house spectrum where it belongs. Top notch stuff with big floor appeal!
Italian producer Marco Madia debuts on Piston with his ‘Dance Files EP’. Marco has been in and around the underground scene for a number of years. In 2006 he moved to Berlin where he got a degree audio engineering and soon started work as a sound designer. He also produces under the pseudonym Flip Morton and his experience has led to working on film soundtracks and exhibitions.
First up is the deep and dark ‘Tachydromia’ which intros with a big kick and low end bass sound with a metallic sounding synth leading from the front. The synths build and build becoming infectious as they warp throughout the sound and give the darker element of the track a big focus. Superb stuff here and a definite must for those late night events!
‘Empis Livida’ is up next and subtly works its way up to a cool and steady flowing groove. The bass is a deep throbbing monster and is complimented brilliantly with a nicely topped off kick and shuffling percussion section. Wonderfully layered synths give that true deep house feel and adds to this sublime trip. Stunning deep joint here from Marco and will create a lot of attention.
Italian DJ and producer Ivan Masa debuts on Piston with this wonderful two tracker ‘Don’t Stop The Groove Man’. Ivan recently released his old school inspired ‘From London’ on Eyepatch gaining much praise for a stunning piece of work.
First up we get ‘Don’t Stop The Groove Man’ which intros with a nice and smooth percussion arrangement before the chunky kicks and cool deep stabs come through. A brilliantly lush groovy bass pops up and totally dominates the sound to the backdrop of a pure House pad that sweeps through the sound. Very cool classic vocal samples get a show and soon the funk factor rises as the sounds evolve. Very dynamic sounding track and one that will be a must for any box.
‘Caramel And Chocolate’ sets off with a funky rhythm made up of cool hats and a groovy synth note. The bass come through beautifully and ramps up the groove big time as vocal samples begin to shine all over the track. The break showcases the power of the funky groove as the synth takes over with a high note oscillating in the background. Fantastic structure on this track as the bass transforms perfectly with the sound and the vocal popping up at the right places.
Top notch stuff yet again from Ivan, not to be missed.
Italian DJ and producer marks his Piston debut with a stunning EP entitled ‘Diggin Time’. Davide has a hugely impressive release list among many top labels and he has worked with some of the best producers around. Davide is also an active DJ playing festivals and radio shows around Europe.
First up we have the Original Mix of ‘Diggin Records’ which intros with a chunky kick and cool percussions that slowly build to a smooth groove as swaying pads sound off in the background. The bass begins its journey and soon evolves into a monster with a vibration that runs deep and will shudder any bass bin it touches. A real cool feature on the track is the vocal that comes to prominence on the break and which sits in contrast with the darker vibe as it brings a freshness to the sound. Top class stuff and a must for any box.
Xander & Niederreiter are Austrian duo Xander Kassian and Niederreiter Markus and they also debut on Piston with their remix on ‘Diggin Records’ and what an effort these guys put in. Big and brash kicks coupled with a nice and crisp hat make for a solid start to the track. The in your face bass starts early as it bubbles up from below before the track suddenly breaks and the tweaked original vocal bursts to life before slamming back into the main track. The bass has transformed beautifully as it almost growls its way through the sound. A real floor shaker here that is not to be missed.
Rounding off this EP we have the superb track ‘Time’. Getting off to a pumping start with a wonderful phat kick and crispy hat combi with the bass joining the party early on. The bass has a darkly sinister vibe that works so beautifully with the synth chords and the equally dark vocal samples. The break is dominated the brilliantly crafted chords that etch out a real cool groove along with the vocal. The track kicks back in with ass shakin power making this a track that you will definitely want in your playlist!

Spanish DJ and producer Andres Boned aka Bonetti debuts on Piston with his superb two tracker entitled ‘My House Of Neglect’.
Andre has been attracted to electronic music and clublife from an early age. In 2010 he decided to get into making his own music. He likes to add his own unique twists on Tech House and Deep House so that his sounds can be enjoyed on the beach or in the club at the same time. Since he released his first track in 2011 on iFrominal he has not looked back, a raft of releases and support from around the world has stood him in good stead and will no doubt keep him on track for an exciting future.
First up is the title track ‘My House Of Neglect’ which gets going with a proper house pumping kick and a sharp hat that combine to give a classic feel. The drum arrangement reaches expert levels as cut outs and shuffling grooves keep the rhythms flowing. A cool vocal sample comes through from time to time giving a true deep house texture to the sound. A sublime gated house chord does the most damage here as it shapes the track beautifully while the bass sits back and carries a solid groove throughout.. The vocal comes though more prominent on the break and tells of a dark tale which fits this sound perfectly. Top notch stuff out of Spain here and a must have in those boxes!
‘The Class War’ intros with a superb classic styled thumping kick and crispy hat combi. Proper House keys begin to fade through as a fantastic spoken vocal begins a very cool narrative that reverberates throughout the track. A very subtle yet highly effective bass just sits at the right level and allows the other sounds solid platform to shine. On the break the chords get a makeover as a groovy riff peek in.
Nice and chunky sounds here and definitely not to be missed.
Iban Montoro & Jazzman Wax aka Ivan Delgado and Christian Gomez are a DJ and production duo from Spain, the guys are debuting on Piston with this fantastic two tracker ‘In Da House’.
The guys are responsible for a huge amount of releases across many top labels including Susurruous Music, King Street, Soulman, Monog Records and Tip Tap Records to name just a small few. They have a dynamic partnership and their styles mix together very well, they both use as much of the classic analog sound as they can in their works, especially TR-909 and 808 as they try to bring a bit of classic Chicago House into the modern era.
The title track ‘In Da House’ sets us off on a truly sublime deep and groovy journey, the intro boasts a cool percussion line that is soon joined by a nice and full chunky kick that just takes over the sound. A deep rooted bass begins to form as the drum arrangement goes into full effect creating a solid rhythmic base. Warm keys come into play alongside a low and slow vocal sample which really stands out. The break reveals more of those surreal chords while continuing the percussion led theme of the track. Top stuff and a cert to draw a lot of attention.
‘Too Much’ goes into groovy overdrive and does it in style. Nice and steady intro with the kicks and percussions, a few very cool vocal samples come in the form of a sultry female voice and smooth male voice making for a fantastic contrast. The house keys on show are outstanding as they weave out a groovy pattern that takes over the track superbly as the bass sits in the perfect position.
A straight up in your face House stomper that will no doubt light up many floors!
Italian DJ and producer Luigi De Santis aka GgDeX debuts on Piston with his two tracker ‘Put The Needle’. Luigi started out in 2001 when he began mixing his LP collection which soon got him a good reputation as he was asked to perform at various parties. His sets take on various guises while always focusing on rhythms and nuances, he likes to get into the deeper and tech side of House. In 2007 he got his first release on Fahrenheit Music with help from his close friend Mario Piu. Many more releases followed across multiple labels with much more to come for sure.
First up is ‘Put The Needle’ which intros with cool and crisp hats with a short vocal sample coming through. Big and chunky kicks set the track off brilliantly before a big and brash bass takes over. The sound takes on a true deep tech vibe as the bass works its magic alongside some very smooth chords and plucky riffs. On the break the chords get an overhaul as they weave out a groovy hook before the track slams right back into the main track. Top stuff out of Italy and not to be missed.
‘Blue Garage’ is up next with a nice and crispy intro as percussions build up a flowing rhythm with the help of a phat kick. A superb deep pulsating bass takes over the sound and lies in perfect harmony with the drum section. Groovy vocal samples add cool textures to the sound as a funky synth teases on the outskirts. Full on deep tech vibes here and a definite must for those bouncier floors!
