Our Piston journey continues with another slice of wax filled with deep and groovy sounds your turntables are gonna love. Label head honcho Rogerio Martins gets the cutting treatment with his Otherwise Unknown EP which features a remix from the fantastic Kris Wadsworth. Otherwise Unknown dishes out its solid beats, probing basses and warm tones that will set the floors alight while We Like To Party brings its upbeat vibes filled with bright, crispy percussions and cool vocals.
After we get a taste of the remix from the world renowned DJ and producer Kris Wadsworth and his No Bible Remix that will definitely keep floors rocking with tech infused vibes and enthralling deep grooves.
To finish up the release we get a trip back in time on the retro themed 1994 that is bursting with dance inducing rhythms and a superb deep house groove you will not want to miss out on.
Italian producers Angelo Draetta & Gianni Alessandrelli join creative forces with their Piston debut Kale Polis EP. Since 2010 Angelo has been a prominent figure among the House music fraternity, he dips his toes into Deep House and Tech House also and has appeared on a vast array of labels including Manyoma Records, City Life, Talk Musique, Green Music and many more. Gianni came through onto the scene in 2014 with top releases on Opium Muzik, Revox Records and Tulipe Records. Great sound from these guys, well worth keeping an eye on.
Turtlemen can only be described as a quintessential Piston floorjammer with its rounded, lush basses and super tight drums that keep the rhythm in check. Subtle chord stabs leak out in the background and provide a proper house flavour to the sound as some cool vocals cast their sing-song style lyrics. Definitely a track you will be finding on many playlists, not to be missed.
The Vibes gives off a cool electro themed style as evident in the tight drum and percussion arrangements and chunky kicks. The groove is carried along nicely as those drums dominate the sound before a warm bass is introduced taking the groove that little bit deeper. Cool vocals and sharp synth hits add character to an otherwise drum infested sound. This one is a master class in pattern construction that will be a welcome addition in many sets.
Gianni Alessandrelli goes solo on Kale Polis which intros with a smooth, deep sound complete with throbbing basses and muted kicks. Shuffling hats, crispy claps and marching snares deliver a solid rhythmic groove as those deep basses plod through. Deliciously sultry female vocals captivate as we are taken deeper into House music. A real nice slice of deep goodness that is not to be missed.
Italian DJ and producer Hermann Dius aka Emmanuel De Caprio, debuts on Piston with this tasty two tracker, Baht. Hermann has taken a keen interest in music from an early age, at just 10 years old, he got into house music and became influenced by people like Luciano, Loco Dice, DJ Simi, Shlomi Aber, Darius Syrossian, Carlo Lio, Marco Effe, Robert Dietz, Reboot, Alex Picone and Joseph Maesano. This kind of music became part of his life. With hard work and dedication he gained a solid reputation as a DJ and at the age of 20 he got the chance to play alongside DJ’s like Smoking Jo, Pako S, DJ Fiore and Antonio Grassia. Soon after he began to produce his own sounds under the name Manuel Bros, with a little help from his friend Marra Luigi aka Mar-L. Their music got releases on labels such as Push Push Music, 1980 Recordings, Composure Records, Datagroove Records and Arteria Music Label. Now going solo we are delighted to have this guy on board at Piston.
Baht intros with a bright and fresh open hat alongside a well rounded punchy kick and swirling pad in the background creating a nice bounce to the sound. An urbanised spoken vocal brings a cool street vibe and leads the way in keeping a raw element alive. Tight, slicing snares cut through the sound perfectly as the bouncy bass infects your bones drawing you to the floor. A nice spritely slice of upbeat house grooves that will brighten up any set no doubt.
Boiler brings a nice tough, chunky kick and sharp percussion combi on the intro and sets the track up for a ride deep into tech house grooves. The sounds takes on various guises as raw analogue basses are matched against those slicing hats and cool one shot vocals. Warm chords litter the groove providing the deeper house elements that bind the track together. A beautifully constructed arrangement that will definitely appeal to the more discerning floors out there.
Matteo Cabassi & Luky debut on Piston with the deep and dancey two tracker, Throwback. Italian DJ and producer Matteo is a lover of vinyl and has released tracks on various labels such as Circle Music, Ritual, Fontek, Hustler Music, Infinity Label and Music Things. Support for his music has come from some of the top names on the scene including Richie Hawtin, Luciano, Alex Flatner, Sis, Danny Tenaglia, Marco Corola and more. Italian DJ and producer Luky aka Luca Grasselli has seen his work on many top labels over the years including Spaceland Records, Infinity Label, Antura Records and Recovery Tech. He has lots of collabs under his belt and his music is supported worldwide. Great to see these guys on board the Piston train.
Throwback intros with a superb big beat themed drum arrangement that provides a cool shuffling groove before a fantastic chunky kick comes in and takes the groove firmly into the realms of house music. The bassline pulsates right through the track and gets the groove moving as a myriad of percussions let the rhythms loose. On the break a haunting, swirling synth builds creating a colourful texture to the sound as cool spoken vocals hit out. A seriously energising masterclass in drum arrangement that will definitely have floors shakin.
Cigarettes & Joint sets off with a cool snappy snare and rising bass tone to the backdrop of hushed voices. A nice big punchy kick comes in and is joined by a throbbing, deep bass that dominates the sound. Various drum layers are added and a shuffling rhythmic groove is born that will have the hips gyrating in time. Cool spoken vocals litter the sound alongside short, one shot guitars and synth stabs that add character to the groove. A proper deep and driving slice of tech that will not disappoint.

Italian producer Marco Madia is back at Piston with another superb four track EP entitled Sugar Lift. We last saw this talented artist back in the summer of 2014 with his 12 Seagulls EP which went down a treat among many in the deep and tech world.

Spanish DJ and producer Juanma Llopis serves up another deep treat with Going Insane. Last time out he delivered the goods in style with his Baila! EP which gained fantastic support from many quarters. Going Insane intros with a smooth upbeat kinda vibe as nice phat beats are joined by some bright keys and cool risers. Expertly crafted basses clutter together beautifully to deliver an intricate pattern that seals up a proper solid groove. The vocals complete this track perfectly with their raspy, harmonic house flavours. Cool melodies flow throughout and create wonderful textures that allows you to fully immerse into the sound. Sublime stuff from Juanma that will turn a few heads for sure.
Walk With Me intros with sharp hats and a very cool drum arrangement that builds up a solid rhythmic structure. Nice and chunky kicks are joined by a warm probing offset bass that controls the groove beautifully. The drums continue layer up and result in a complex web of patterns that work so perfectly together to the backdrop of a myriad of vocal shots. Subtle chords and rich strings reveal the true deep house vibes of the track as a superb female vocal brings a sultry cabaret style to the sound. Another excellent cut that will see a lot of playtime no doubt.
Italian DJ and producer Laesh debuts on Piston with That Old Fiction, two sublime deep and grooving tracks that will not disappoint. His passion is House music with deep, old school influences. Since getting his first set of turntables he has played at many clubs on the circuit. In 2010 he ventured into producing and found himself getting releases on labels like Oasi Lab, Malo, Bluedye, Redlight and Joyful Family Records. His DJ sets are performed using vinyl and he prides himself for his eclectic vinyl collection. Great to have him on board at Piston.
