SRUR’s Muzika series is back with Volume 7. This series has been gaining lots of momentum as label boss Oz Romita continues to source only the finest cuts for inclusion. As we’ve come to expect we see four more top drawer artists deliver four stunning tracks.
First up we have Ozan Kanik & Harun Karabulut that join forces once again to bring ‘Yavas Yavas’ to life. Nice big phat kicks get the track moving with an expertly crafted percussion arrangement getting the rhythm flowing. Cool vocal samples are the perfect addition to the sound as our sense are raided by the organic vibe coming through. Quite a minimal groove with a massive punch, the detail shown in the various FX and sounds is stunning making this a must have track for sure.
Then comes ‘Badub’ from Davide Marchesiello. The track intros with a cool deep bass filled vibe, punchy kicks blend beautifully with the bass as percussions skip along adding rhythmic grooves. The FX work comes through brilliantly and adds smooth textures to the groove. Cool new patterns can be found throughout as the arrangement lets loose on the percussions. Very well crafted sound here and perfect ammo for the darker rooms.
Manoah delivers the sublime ‘Onduidelijk’. A very subtle intro with the kicks holding off on the punch and soft hats that create a cool vibe. Before long we are thrust into the main track as a deep bass comes through and forms the main focus of the track. On the break cool atmospheres are created as the track breaks down to just a simple yet effective percussion line and some cool FX that give an urban feel. A truly dark journey that will sit well in those dark sets, no doubt.
Kendrick is up next with his track ‘Get Up’. Nice and smooth percussion intro that builds to a full on kick that dominates the sound. Cool vocal samples pop up throughout and give character to the sound. A throbbing bass soon commands authority as the track settles into a steady flowing rhythm. The drum arrangement takes centre stage at the break with more intricate patterns forming up beside a classy piano stab before slamming right back into the main groove. Brilliant stuff.
7th installment in the Pure Tech series, this time with original tracks and remixes by Van Czar, Kini Rao, Charles Ramirez, Moll, Jamez, Jimmy Galle, Sa.Du, Cele, Ozan Kanik, Enrico Caruso, Ozgur Uzar, Jonathan Calvo, Andy Slate, Zolex, Alessan Main, Kevh Ripple, Eric Kanzler, Ed Whitty, The Electric 10, Diego Herrera, Onofrio Conte, Tribal Warriors, Oz Romita, Roderick Fox, HP Vince, John Manning, Redhead, Franky Jones and NaaN.
Dany Cohiba is back at SRUR with his superb track ‘Liquid Cha’ which comes backed up with two stunning remixes.
The Original Mix gets us moving with cool, flowing intro as the kicks and percussion etch out a solid rhythmic patter. A deep bass enters the fray and just sits back perfectly allowing the track to flow while a fantastic retro themed tube sound takes full focus. A typically infectious record from Dany and one that will no doubt get a lot of attention.
SRUR’s own Ozan Kanik is up first with his superb remix. Nice and steady intro with percussions doing all the work before a truly massive kick and phat bass combi take over the sound. Proper full flowing Techno grooves on this one and full of energy to boot. The break adds in some cool FX and a fantastic display of drum arrangement. The tube sound from the original makes a showing and has a stunning impact on the groove. Definitely one to watch here!
JPhilipps & Rod B. debut on SRUR with an absolute stomper of a remix. The guys dig deep and bring out a stunning display of Techno grooves. The remix intros with a smooth bass sound and a nice punchy kick on top. A deeper more tweaked bassline is introduced and a very cool array of percussions give the track a rhythmic vibe. A perfect addition to those deeper Tech sets that is not to be missed.

Ozan Kanik is one of those guys who never disappoints with consistently great productions. His recent double header on the SRUR “ADE” package was very well received and now he is back with another stomper “Fiction” which is backed up with three fantastic remixes.
The Original Mix comes at you with a pulsating rhythm from the off as the bass and kicks perform seamlessly. Cool percussive elements blend in nicely to give off a full on techno vibe. The drum arrangements are superb and keep the track on course while some great FX work finds its way through the sound, brilliant stuff!
Tome Hades offers up the first remix on this pack and this remix is one that featured on the recent ADE package. Belgium based Tom is a mighty figure around the techno scene with many remix requests and DJ gigs keeping him busy. Here he sticks to the roots of the original with another full flowing techno groove. A big focus is placed on a wonderful vocal sample that sits so well within the sound. A big hitter for sure and one to keep an eye on!
Chilean born DJ and producer Cristian Alexander Soto López aka Alessan Main is back at SRUR after a successful release “Storm” alongside Juciff. Alessan Main certainly beefs up the groove here with an intro to blow the speakers as a beautifully balanced kick and bass combi come at you like a runaway train. The percussions deliver a solid rhythmic state as the bass does its work while minimal vocal samples creep up from below. Fantastic arrangement and one to light up any floor.
Another returnee to SRUR is Vancouver based DJ and producer James Hopkins with his remix. James goes deeper and darker with this effort while maintaining that pulsating sound from the original due to the superb bass. A more restrained kick and nice crispy hat keeps the rhythm flowing while subtle vocal snippets and brilliantly applied FX keep the ear trained, superb stuff.
Chilean born DJ and producer Cristian Alexander Soto López aka Alessan Main is back on SRUR alongside Columbian producer Kevh Ripple. Kevh is making his debut on SRUR but these guys have worked together before on projects for labels such as Nature Beat Records, Polar Noise and Hulk Records to name a few. This track “Iclock” comes backed up with two superb remixes courtesy of Ozan Kanik and James Hopkins.
The Original mix is a wonderful slice of techno with a myriad of sounds that are not far off industrial levels. Tough and gritty kick and bass combi set up a full on techno ride with a host of raw sounds that give off that edgy vibe. Top notch stuff.
The popular Ozan Kanik is up next with his remix which is filled with all the flavours you’d expect from his brand of techno. Tough beats with sharp contrasting hats provide solid rhythms while the bassline pulsates through the sound. Throughout the track and one of its main features is a relentless arp that just keeps going and going creating a hypnotic vibe, great stuff!
Another familiar face around SRUR is James Hopkins with his stunning remix. The intro boasts a chunky kick which sits nicely alongside an open hat and gives off a classic vibe. Very subtle synth notes try to poke through while the bassline adds depth to the sound. Very nice FX work filters in and ties the track up beautifully. Not to be missed and a clear favourite for those late night floors.

He also continues to DJ worldwide in the most exotic locations from Egypt to Brazil. Dutch DJ and producer CLN83 has provided remixes for SRUR in the past and also has a raft of top quality releases on various labels.
First up is Ozan & Mariano’s track “Broke Bad”, the intro sends out a tough kick with a low sub adding weight, percussions slowly build into a full on techno monster. A synth line rises up from the depths to dominate while sinister sounding FX create an intense vibe. On the break sweet ripples come through add very stark contrast to the proceedings, these soon dissipate and we’re back to pumping techno grooves, excellent stuff.
Next is Ozan & CLN83’s track “Neat & Clean”, cool sharp hats fill the intro alongside a thumping kick. The bass takes over as it reverberates through the sound while a pitched tone rises and falls creating a surreal, spacey type theme. Vocal samples tease in and out and the break builds up to a huge climax, after the break the track takes a twist with a superb, hypnotic riff dominating for the duration, quality stuff and a must on any playlist!
