Sounds R Us Recording are gearing up for another, no doubt successful trip, to this year’s Amsterdam Dance Event. Label boss Oz Romita has put together an outstanding package with previously released and exclusive material showcasing the diverse range of styles and many talents of the producers on his labels books.
Ozan Kanik features no less than three times throughout this pack with his first offering being the techno fuelled “Fiction”. This track comes in the shape of a superb remix by the mighty Tom Hades and is bound to cause a stir among many at this year’s parties and beyond.
Dutch DJ and producer Steve Mulder returns to SRUR with a sublime techno cut on his track “Matador”. Steve has a hugely impressive release count across many labels and has worked alongside the world’s top jocks and artists.
Ozan’s next offering is the aptly titled “ADE 2013″, a techno stomper with merciless rhythmic grooves that will certainly have the event patrons looking for more, one to watch here!
Analog Effect aka Dutch duo Jan Boom and Branko Van Hilten are up next with “Plovdiv”. The guys are fresh off the back of their last SRUR outing alongside Jay Junior with “Diffuser EP”. This time around the guys take techno into deeper grooves and come up with a proper banging track, superb stuff.
Ozan’s third contribution is in collaboration with CLN83 on their track “Neat & Clean” which saw great reviews upon release. For this comp the Drumcomplex & Roel Salemink Remix was chosen and it brings with it a darker more sinister techno sound that has a huge effect as it draws you in completely.
Miami based DJ and producer Rod B. is back with his full SRUR release after well received remixes earlier in the year. “24HR Amsterdam” is a classic driving techno groove and just what you’d expect from the highly talented Rod B..
W&DY aka Wendy Wustlich is up next to showcase her diverse skills in production. This time Wendy turns on the progressive house with attitude tap and what we get is the stunning “Heartbeat” which will for sure get those pulses racing!
Label head honcho Oz thumps out a fantastic deep house joint on his track “Changes”. Oz has a brilliant and unique way of injecting energy into his sounds and here is no different, yes it’s deep house and yes it’s full of energy which is what we like!
Finishing off this amazing pack is the talented duo of M.R.T.N AKA Sthlm Beat and Pomp with “Behind The Iron Curtain”. Massive techno sound on the with a harder edge groove, a track that will have the floors at ADE bouncing for sure.
Muzika is now already on its fourth instalment and again we bring you four top class tracks from four top class artists, so buckle up for a techno fuelled ride into the wonderful world of Sounds R Us Recordings.
First up is Alessan Main & Juciff with “Storm”. Chilean born DJ and producer Cristian Alexander Soto López aka Alessan Main began his music career at nineteen years old, playing in clubs and bars he soon got into production and has appeared on labels like The Room, WTF! Music, Jekos Music and more. Colombian based DJ and producer Juciff started out at just sixteen, he has played many clubs around his homeland and has appeared on labels including Nature Music and Junka Records. The track is a dark edged techno offering full of an array of FX and filtered synths, a very eerie atmosphere is created also with some brilliant vocal samples, excellent stuff.
The very popular boss of SRUR, Oz Romita, gives us another taste of his superb brand of techno grooves. His track “No Doubt” will be destined for club classic status, chunky kicks and a heavy bass are gelled together seamlessly with a cool rhythmic percussion arrangement. Cool vocals show up from time to time and on the break we get a huge build up that includes sirens, a must have in any techno set.
Debut appearance on SRUR for Turkish DJ and producer Ozgar Uzar with his track “Blue Wind”. Ozgar has been around the EDM scene since 1995 and has a huge amount of releases under his belt on labels like Desperadoz Records, Workstation, Bedroom Muzik and many more. The track is a masterclass in techno grooves with percussions playing a big part in the sound. Just after the intro a huge riser takes us through to the main groove that goes on relentlessly, big sound for big floors here and one to watch.
Another debut appearance on SRUR for Los Angeles based DJ and producer Andy Slate and his track “Mandalay”. Andy first came into contact with turntables in 1983 and has been thrashing out techno beats ever since. His longstanding production career has seen his music on labels such as Soulmate, Eightmileshigh and Nervous Records to name just a few. “Mandalay” gets right into a full on techno groove from the off with a tight drum and percussion arrangement backed up with a popping bass and crunchy brass stabs, excellent workout!

SRUR label boss Oz Romita is back with a superb three tracker, “Get Us Funky EP”. As usual Oz remains very busy with gigging, producing and running the label.
“Get Us Funky” starts us off, a real cool laidback funky little number. The intro gives off a nice fresh vibe with bright hats and a proper thud on the kick with percussions building a smooth rhythm, a tight arrangement. The bass lifts the track off, such a simple and very effective riff with a lush groove. The funkness comes into this track through the guitars, again a very simple riff that has a big impact, top notch stuff.
“Burning” is up next and the tempo rises along with it. Nice bouncy vibe on the intro with the synth in the offset, cool and sharp hats alongside the kicks provide a steady rhythm here as we build up to an awesome techno groove. Lots of percussion makes its way into the sound throughout, overall a very fun track that would sit well in any set.
“Foreign Drums” is a masterclass in arrangement, a myriad of sounds and in particular percussions, all come together beautifully inside a strong tech fuelled groove. As this track progresses it becomes hypnotising and later on some surreal synths add a new layer to the sound, superb stuff.
