Leicester based DJ and producer Neel V returns to Green Martian after his debut on Mars Attacks Volume 4 with “Lost Stories Of India”. Keeping up with the deeper side of progressive we are treated to top notch stuff on this latest EP.
The title track “Krishna” is a strong solid prog vibe, well compressed thumping kick with tight sharp percs provide a steady rhythm. This track builds and builds many times with the pads adding intensity along the way, well crafted vocal stuttering takes us to the break where an ethnic vocal captivates the mind and some beautiful instruments create stunning melodies.
“Black Magic” provides subtle kicks and percussions this time around with the main focus going towards the melodic element. These melodies are expertly crafted with a variety of Eastern sounding instruments and again we see brilliant use of ethnically charged vocal, absolutely stunning work.
“Sleep Walking” rounds up this EP in style. Neel V’s talents really shine here with a very eclectic vision of how his sound should be, in particular the vocal samples used. Eastern influences are all over this track and done in a genius way with added melancholic melodies adding stark contrasts, very well constructed.
More attacks from Mars with Volume 4 of the popular series on established progressive label Green Martian.
