Portuguese DJ and producer Luis Bravo returns to Monog with the superb Switch Dance EP. We last saw Luis back in December 2013 with Yin which went down a storm all over. Since then he has notched up a very impressive release count across many labels including Hi Profile Recordings, Au Records, Dopplegaenger, Minar Records and HiFi Stories. Switch Dance also comes with two fantastic remixes from Dominic Smith and Kruno Kereta.
Up first we have the Original Mix which gets right into a deep rooted groove from the get go. Chunky kicks are joined by a warm pulsating synth alongside cool and crisp hats. Stark, harsh sounds litter the groove and bring a slice of tech into the vibe while some very cool spoken vocals provide a thought invoking narrative. The tracks layers continue to build bringing a real deep groove that will keep floors on the move no doubt.
Irish DJ and producer Dominic Smith steps up for remix duty and delivers a sublime deep house experience. Dublin resident Dominic has been a fan of dance music for a long time, in 2010 he got into House music and spent time dissecting the many sub-genres that exist. The results of this are his unique blend of Deep House and Tech House which has been snapped up by labels including Midnight Express Records, Vision Collective Recordings and Depaart to name just a few. In 2011 he gained attention from Dublin’s House music scene and soon found himself behind the decks at top venues across the city. On the remix the intro boasts a smooth and groovy vibe as well rounded kicks are joined by a surreal pad that rises beautifully into the sound. Cool FX on the vocal dominates a short break before we get into the main sound with sharp hats and a dancey rhythm. Sweeping synth shots litter the sound beautifully as this relentless groover powers on. A definite must have track in your box.
Croatian producer Kruno Kereta returns to Monog on remix duty and is fresh off the back of debut, Disquiet EP. On the intro we get thrust into a monstrous groove as punchy kicks are lined up against a harsh sinister bass. Vocal one shots crop up alongside a building percussion section and cool metallic sounding FX. The bass sits back perfectly and allows the percussive elements to build into a cool flowing rhythm as synth stabs filter through. A merciless trek into the deeper side of House that will not disappoint.
Alan Castro is back at Monog with Bata EP. Alan’s last outing for us was on remix duty for Kruno Kereta’s Disquiet and before that it was a while since we seen him around these shores. Delighted to see another fine release from this guy and hope to see much more.
First up we have the title track Bata and right from the off we are lured into the deep grooves on offer with a superb kick and subtle percussion arrangement to the backdrop of a musical bass that locks you in for the ride. The grooves build slowly and tease us before we get to the break where some very smooth chords give you a little respite and then back into full swing. Cool vocal samples and FX splatter across the sound keeping your interest and adding many textures. A real nice and smooth cut that will not disappoint.
Dad0s sets off with a real deep groovy vibe as pulsing basses are joined by muted percussions that slowly weave a smooth rhythmic flow. Darker elements creep through in the shape of a mysterious echoed bell sound, which also adds a dramatic effect. Wonderfully positioned FX keep the ears trained as the groove unfolds taking us deeper. A strange yet very appealing sound that will draw the attention of many for sure.
Croatian producer Kruno Kereta debuts on Monog with the sublime Disquiet EP and comes complete with a superb remix from Alan Castro.
The Original Mix oozes deep minimal techno grooves as tough break beats dish out head nodding rhythms alongside some very cool percussions that become the mainstay of the track. A simple yet highly effective bass sits just behind the kicks beautifully as shuffling hats drive the rhythms. A series of synth sequences fade up from nowhere and keep with the minimal groove resulting in a proper deep techno experience.
Argentinean DJ and producer Alan Castro returns to Monog on remix duty, we last saw Alan with his Metodology EP back in 2013 which also got appearances on compilations through Eyepacth Recordings and Bonzai Progressive. Here he beefs up the original with big punchy kicks in a breaks pattern and a super tight drum and percussion arrangement which keeps with the minimal feel of the sound. Eerie sounding synth licks and pads combine brilliantly with a series of metallic FX which marries perfectly with the vibe. The beats transform into a full on 4×4 rhythm at the midway point and this beast of a track really takes off. A truly epic experience you will not want to miss.
Stratus rounds up this EP and gets right into the heart of deep minimal techno sounds with thumping break beats and a pure, raw bass. Rhythmic patterns flow effortlessly with the addition of spacey hats and percussions. A fantastic arp sequence brings with it a hypnotic flow that filters wonderfully to become the dominant force of the groove. Top notch stuff that will surely get attention within the techno fraternity.
For our release number 42, we welcome back our Romanian artist Iosupescu Lucian! His newest EP is known by the name of Omega and contains two absolute bombs! This is the second EP from Iosupescu Lucian at Monog and, after the success of his debut “Drug dealer” EP, the expectations where extremely high but guess what? He will not disappoint you! The two tracks composing Omega are very “Romanian style”. Addictive rhythm, a strong influence of dub techno and an enormous amount of details. The title of the first track gives the name of EP and have in her DNA a strong dark and enigmatic feeling coupled with an evolving groove. On the B side, we have “Curcubeu”, a deep and intense gem, with loads of details and a strong dub vibe. We absolutely felt in love with this EP and we are very curious about what’s coming next from Iosupescu Lucian!
The Spanish are back. That’s true, our well known Spanish duo, composed by Iban Montoro and Jazzman Wax, is back with another EP and we are extremely excited with it! “Amarre” is the name of the third EP from the duo with the Monog Records stamp and it’s composed by two original tracks: “Amarre” and “A Moot Point”.
“Amarre” have all the essential ingredients that makes our label so characteristic: It’s deep, dense, delicate and powerful at the same time. It’s the kind of music that you can easily listen for hours and it will never be too much!
On the B side, we have “A Moot Point” is a dance floor killer! A very powerful groove, combined with subtle chords and a lot of detailed ambient effects are the motto to make this track a “must have” in all the DJ Bags. Just have a listen and see for yourself!

Ladies and gentlemen, we proudly reach the release number 40!
After 3 and a half years of a persistent search for coherence, vision, ideology and quality, we reached the incredible number of 40 EPs. All those 40 EPs are unique and special. They have life, personality and all of them are an essential part of what Monog Records has become today. They are our DNA and we are deeply proud and attached to every single one of them.
To celebrate this mark, we invited Hedubble, after his success with Traffic EP, to do the honours and present us with his new EP called Animal Feeling.
Animal Feeling EP is made of 2 original tracks Animal Feeling and No One Else and an outstanding remix of Animal Feeling made by our artist EAT DUST.
The Original mix of Animal Feeling is a proper piece of art in all the extend of the word. It is deep, delicate, introspective and beautiful. Besides the relatively simple groove and construction, the vocal is so intense that it will stay in your mind for hours!
On the other side, No One Else is a dance floor killer. The bass line is the main element here, driving all the track to a deep, dark atmosphere with plenty of details and small nuances.
At last we have the remix by EAT DUST for Animal Feeling. This remix is a lighter and housy approach to the original mix and it is a great example of EAT DUST characteristics as a producer. We are very happy to have his contribution in this EP.

Eat Dust is the name behind the newest EP from Monog Records. “Portrait Illusions” is his debut ep with us and it’s guaranteed that this will be the beginning of a relationship for life!
Eat Dust aka Mario Silva, is an artist from Lisbon that since 2002 has been gaining his own space in the Portuguese dance scene leading him to a residence in one of the most mythical clubs in Lisbon, Alcântara Club. “Portraits Illusions EP” is made of three original tracks with a very dark, obscure feeling. “The Girl Next Door” is a very groovy, and powerful track, very capable of putting any dance floor on fire.
On the other side, “Portraits Illusions”, the track responsible for the name of this ep, is a much more intimist, dark and mental track. A lot of small details here and there, a dub techno fingerprint and an ambience that will send your mind into a dark parallel world. “Natural Flavour” it’s the closing track of this ep and sums up the essence of Eat Dust as a producer: Again a dark feeling, lots of details and a very groovy and addictive rhythm.
Enough of talking, just have a listen and see for yourself!

Iosupescu Lucian is the man behind our latest release called “Drug Dealer EP”. Iosupescu is a Romanian DJ and producer living in Italy, with strong focus in what he want and where he wanna go with his music.
Drug Dealer is his debut EP at Monog Records and it is a perfect exemple of Iosupescu tremendous skills as a producer. This EP is composed by 2 original tracks (“Drug Dealer” and “Power Down”) with a very deep, moody vibe (so characteristic of this label) and an outstanding remix of “Drug Dealer” by our well known Spanish duo Iban Montoro and Jazzman Wax. This remix is an authentic dancefloor bomb, with a very different (and much more agressive) approach compared to the original version.
This is highly addictive so consume it at your own risk.
MNG037 featured the return of one of our oldest family member, diSapia! Tom Disapia is the man behind one of our all time favourite releases, “They mostly Hunt at Night EP” (MNG008), so the expectations were really high for this one and we couldn’t be more happy with the final results!
Smog City EP is composed by two original tracks: “Smog City” and “Bring it Back”.
“Smog City” have the word DISAPIA written all over. It is a great representation of his incredible work and talent as a producer, a deep, dense atmosphere, a funky vocal and an incredibly detailed work on the groove.
“Bring it Back” is an anthem for all the House music lovers out there. It have a driving bass line, an happy mood and a lovely vocal that will be in your head of a while. At last but not least, we invited Alan Castro to make a remix for “Smog City” and we are delighted with the final results! Incredible work that once again shows the tremendous amount of talent this Argentinian producer have. It’s deep, dense and underground. We love it!
