BONZAI WORX – VOLUME 3 – VINYL OUT NOW!

Gearing up for another round of quality cuts is Bonzai’s latest vinyl venture “Bonzai Worx – Volume 3″. This pressing comes complete with four top drawer tracks and a couple of outstanding remixes from the very impressive roster of artists and labels Bonzai has to offer. Give your record bag a reason to exist and grab your limited copy, you will not be disappointed.

First up we have Metodi Hristov’s remix of Mindgamers track “Can You Feel It”. Metodi turns the cool meter way up with a superb big club friendly effort. All the goodness of house with the prog element shining through, super suave steady rhythm filled with tight percussion and a subtle kick. The big focus here is the awesome bassline backed up with a mesmerizing vocal which works an absolute treat.

Matan Caspi’s remix of Chantola’s “Make It Happen” is a perfect selection for vinyl as he drops a hint of tech into the prog house vibe while keeping the coolness and suave of the main sound, very well crafted remix, a little more synth work and some crisp guitar keeps the summer theme alive.

Paduraru’s “Games For Girls” makes the cut with a strong and steady rhythm on the beats and a wonderful bassline adding extra weight. Top quality synth work here in a true progressive groove, on the break we get an off key piano that adds melancholy to the track. Big strings make a show and a well rounded track is the end product, top stuff destined for many boxes.

Loquai & Shimmer’s very well received “Fly Fortress” is a must for this vinyl, kicking off into an awesome world of progressive vibes with very subtle yet highly effective melodies. Real cool steady rhythm with the kicks and percs, the melodies are enhanced with some brilliant rising pads and FX with a chunky bassline tying things up nicely.

ELECTRIC BASTARDS – HIGH PASS (BONZAI PROGRESSIVE)

[soundcloud id='93338116']

Electric Bastards are production and DJing duo Jordan Drieghe and Curt Savage, based in Belgium these guys have lost their souls to music. They are devoted to house beats and like to experiment with different genres. For several years they have been active in the music scene with different projects and appearing on many labels including a remix on “Once Again” by Mindgamers. Today they make their full Bonzai debut with “High Pass” including a fabulous remix, enjoy!

The original mix kicks off in true tech style with sharp percussion and a low end thumping drum. The layers are slowly stacked up with a brilliant bassline holding things up well. Lots of FX give the track a lot of character with a real cool vocal sample rounding things off.

Zas and Zanse aka Mindgamers return the previous favour to Electric Bastards with a stunning remix of the highest quality. Building up a cool tech vibe from the off with a rhythmic drum and percussion mix, strong, solid grooves come through and the track takes off when the bassline kicks in. Big sytnh sweeps on the break give an air of prog n the sound but the true roots are in tech as the track kicks back in, these guys sure know how to work a remix!

MINDGAMERS – ONCE AGAIN (BONZAI PROGRESSIVE)

[soundcloud id='89270659']

Talinn’s finest Zas & Sanze aka Mindgamers are back with more tripped out prog house vibes with their new track “Once Again” and it comes with a little help from friends Florian Meindl and Electric Bastards on remix duty.

The original is a proper Mindgamers track with crisp, sharp hats and rhythmic percussions over a tight kick. Brilliant piano chords take centre stage here and a truly deep throbbing bass will get any speaker (and ass) shaking. Well placed vocal sample repeats once again and on the break the piano ramps up a notch with super cool strings coming through, one hell of a build up gets us pounding back into the groove, top quality stuff!

First up for remix duties is Florian Meindl with his Shitakusa Remix. Berlin based producer, DJ and sound designer Florian is a hard working artist with many releases and remixes under his belt including on his own label Flash Recordings. With a passion for music he is busy with writing movie soundtracks and has completed his BA at the London College Of Music. Here he applies his skill in style, carving out a straight up prog house groover, nice chunky kicks are in contrast with subtle strings and some very nifty FX and synth work. On the break the bass is boss and the pianos provide for an awesome build up back into this superb flowing track.

Electric Bastards aka Jordan Drieghe and Curt Savage are a Belgium based duo who have lost their souls to music. They are devoted to House beats and like to experiment with genres as Deep, Tech and Progressive House. Here they provide us with a stunning remix which focuses around a brilliant deep bassline throughout. Lots of FX play a part here with tight percussion and drum arrangement creating a steady groove. Cool use of the vocal with brilliant filtering on the piano sample, quality stuff here and sure to be a firm favourite for a lot of jocks.

MINDGAMERS – VELVET SKY (BONZAI PROGRESSIVE)

[soundcloud id='78072903']

Talinn born dynamic duo Zas & Sanze aka Mindgamers are back with their debut album “Velvet Sky”. Since 2009 these guys have been producing works at a very high standard, three years on that experience and close working relationship has paid off with a quite stunning artist album.

“The Beginning” kicks us off, nice piano led intro with a brilliant voice effect leading up to super charged bass and breakbeat kicks and percs, short sweet and in your face, perfect start.

First released in 2009 the guys’ debut track way back then “Attractions” gets a 2012 rework, keeping the original alive and kicking. Cool steady tech house with nice FX work on the break and throughout, already heavily supported and sure to be on a lot more playlists.

“Crazzy” turns up the heat with an energetic tech workout. Very dynamic sound with a synth and vocal combo being the main focus. Cool drums and percs provide a solid groove with bass keeping the body engaged.

“Once Again” keeps up the bounce with its cool steady groove driven by a thumping kick and sharp hats. A short vocal shot dominates and the piano winds its way in and out morphing with the FX layered upon it. On the break a disco-led string section adds to the huge build up and back into that solid groove, awesome vibe here.

“Copacabana” brings in a Brazilian samba flavour, all the trimmings you’d expect from a vibe like this with the Mindgamers magic touch. Cool rhythmic flowing style that will have any floor ready for action.

Taking on a deeper element with “Music Everyday” now, the duo’s distinctive kicks and percs shine through here with a real low end bassline adding punch, again we see wonderful synth work giving that deep vibe.

The title track “Velvet Sky” is a fine energetic prog tech ride. Rolling bassline with raw synths that transform at every turn, really cool melodies invade the break and a cut up vocal weaves in and out, big sound on this which will be at the fore on a lot of playlists.

“Baltic Breeze” provides a sublime intermission with surreal sweeping pads and a contrasting heavy kick and bass combi, a nice break in a stunning journey.

First released in 2011 with a vast array of remixes, “Focused” is a prog tech masterclass. Brilliant use of vocals are the dominating force here with a super charged synth taking over from the break with superb arrangement on the rhythm section. A cert to be featured by a lot of DJ’s for a second time around.

Next up is “Can You Feel It” which has also seen a well received release. A good old progressive house workout, cool steady rhythms provide a solid groove, chunky heavy bass will pound any floor and some real cool synth work rounds off a very effective track.

July 2012 saw a release for “Chasing The Sun” a track that will be played on the beaches and terraces as it delivers a very cool house groove, awesome piano work backed with tight drums and a feel good factor of 10!
“Hold You” is another track that saw a release at the early part of this year. Again we see the guys apply their unique signature style to progressive house, well crafted beats creating a flowing energetic rhythm with amazingly simple and effective synth work, the superb vocal will infect your mind.

A stunning first album for these very talented individuals.
