Matan Caspi returns to BP after a few top class remixes like Mindgamers “Chasing The Sun” and Chantola’s “Make It Happen” both of which faired very well on major download portals. Matan has had an amazing journey so far having worked with many top artists and DJ’s, his tracks have been on numerous compilations which is a testament to the talent he has to offer, his track “So High” appeared on Bonzai’s My House Is Your House Volume 6. Today we see his full BP debut with “Raid The Bar”.
The Original Mix gets the floor shaking for the get go, superb chunky kicks get right under your skin and a huge deep bass rocks the foundations. Cool house stabs tease their way through and lush strings wait in the background. The track comes together brilliantly on the break with the synths becoming much more prominent before getting right back into this powerful groove for the duration, top quality stuff which is destined to feature heavily on many playlists this summer.
The ever dependable Zas & Sanze aka Mindgamers deliver the goods yet again with their superb remix. The guys have a real knack for getting the most out of a sound and this is no exception. From the start you are thrown right into a party atmosphere as the track pours out a strong, funky vibe. The bassline oozes funk and the synths etch out one hell of a cool groove. The break sends up a surreal melodic sequence which works so well with the big rising chords before powering back into a full on ass shaking groove.
Turning the track more toward the progressive scope is Henrik Kantola aka Chantola. Henrik has a very impressive repertoire and has worked with top artists, currently he is working on a new studio album which we hope to see very soon. We caught up with Henrik not too long ago for a quick Q&A so keep a lookout for that soon. The track intros with a deep progressive vibe, the kicks stand right out and a wonderfully deep bassline holds the sound up brilliantly. Sweeping pads do their work creating an ethereal atmosphere while cool FX work add texture. A real supercharged groove is built here and a wonderful contrast to the original which makes this a must for those late night sessions.
Belgian producer Adriaan Baussens aka Manu Riga is up next with his Deep Trip Remix. Adriaan is another one of those artists with an extremely heavy workload yet still churns out quality every time. He recently released his latest track “Reborn” which is a collab with fellow producer Nico Parisi and is currently working on other projects including an album. The remix is a super smooth journey deep into progressive vibes. The kicks pound the speakers delivering a shudder through your core while the bassline sits perfectly matched with a lush residue. Classy pads ease by and subtle synths provide a rich contrast, great stuff again from Adriaan!
Popular Belgian producer and remixer Jimmy Galle is back with another of his fine creations. “Chocola” serves up a real progressive trance treat and comes backed up with three fantastic remixes.
The original mix fits the Green Martian sound so well, pumped up progressive house with a dash of euphoria. The track intros with a tight kick and percussion arrangement while a sweet melody builds up in the background, this is coupled with some beautiful vocal sequences. On the break melodies spring up with an ethereal pad and more of those sweet vocals, a subtle climax gets us back to the groove. Fresh and energetic vibes to get the floors moving.
Airwave steps up first on remix duties with his Hazelnut Remix and again he delivers pure quality. Solid kicks and distant melodies provide the intro and the track gains momentum in true Airwave style. A deep progressive vibe ensues with intensity being generated in the quality synth work, on the break we are treated to a sublime trance experience with big pads and expert melodies before getting back into a strong pumping groove. One to watch!
The very busy Manu Riga is up next with his Vanilla remix. Adriaan is currently finishing off his artist album with many collaborations included, he has a fast growing back catalogue of quality tunes to date with much more to come. The track begins with a cool steady rhythm, chunky kicks and crisp hats are backed up with a throbbing bass while the melody builds up nicely. The break delivers excellent pads and that brilliant vocal sample, a strong progressive track that would be a great addition on any set.
Beglian DJ and producer Andy Verschaeren aka Max Cue gives us his Strawberry remix. Andy has been obsessed with music since he was 12 and began producing at 16 using Fruity Loops and later Ableton. His tracks have been released on labels like USA Import, Progrezo and more, his tracks have also been supported by DJ’s such as Laurent Garnier and Paul Oakenfold. This remix intros with a superb kick and percussion, the bassline powers the track from below with a chunky deep vibe. The now familiar melody adds a cool contrast and the vocal works very well in this setting, as the track builds the melody becomes much more intense and you will find yourself locked in to this groove, top stuff!
After their last release on Bonzai Progressive we got together with Manu Riga & Nico Parisi for a short interview about their collaboration past, present and future plans
Hi guys, thanks for speaking with us, how are you both?
M: Well I have had some medical issues, but in general I am doing fine, thanks
N: Hello everything is fine, thank you. I’m still waiting for the summer and the upcoming festivals, the winter was far too long!
Manu & Nico, could you describe your individual sound and what inspires you?
M: As a producer coming from a Chill out background I must say that my inspiration is coming from the likes of Enigma, Solar fields and other great chill out producers. Since I started producing progressive I get my inspiration from producers like Moshic, Gai Barone and also oldskool progressive, Polefolder, Sasha etc. Inspiration is something that can be triggered by playing synths and messing around with sounds.
N: I am now almost 20 years as a DJ-producer and I started with trance, house and progressive in club Atmoz. If you listen to my last productions like “Romeo & Juliet” and my track with Manu Riga, they are very different from all the other things I have produced over the years. My passion for progressive and deep house has never been denied and at this moment I am following a different path with my recent signing to Bonzai Progressive where I can take my next step in EDM. I find my inspiration in the music that I play during my sets and at home.
Nico, you’ve been around the scene for quite some time, how have you seen EDM evolve?
N: The EDM scene has certainly changed, there are so many styles added and the digital uprising has been a good and a bad thing, record sales are down 70% because of illegal downloads. The good thing, is that social networks allow us to promote releases along with streaming platforms and new technology for DJ’s and Producers. It’s amazing how EDM has evolved these last years.
Manu, as a relative newcomer to Bonzai, how did you get involved with producing EDM?
M: In dance I am indeed new since 2005, but of course I’ve been producing electronic music for 21 years now. I started when I was about 12 years old with synthesizers and evolved with the technology to where we are now. Dance was always something I didn’t like or probably I didn’t understand it. In 2004 a guy challenged me to make a dance track and I took the challenge, the track got me signed to Okina Music in 2005. A DR Kucho remix of my track “Good Feeling” hit the national dance charts and that is how it all started. Sadly the label wasn’t into the style I really wanted to make and soon after they went bankrupt. I took a break for a few years and in the meantime started a modest career as a soundtrack composer for some smaller movies. When I met Laurent (Veronnez) online he convinced me to send a track to Bonzai Progressive and that is what I did, I sent them my old track “Tai Chi Girl” and the rest is history
Nico, you worked with Laurent Veronnez aka Airwave on “Romeo & Juliet”, how did that partnership begin?
N: I have known Laurent a long time and a few months ago we approached each other to talk about the distribution of my label Danza Records on Bonzai Digital. Afterwards I asked Laurent if he wanted to make a collab track and Romeo & Juliet was born.
You guys are both signed to Bonzai, can you tell us how this started and how it feels working with a legendary crew?
M & N: “It feels like coming home”
Nico, it was recently announced that you will be on the Bonzai stage at Tomorrowland 2013, how excited are you about this?
N: Well I am really excited to play at the biggest festival in the world! Not only because of Tomorrowland but also because it’s the Bonzai Stage. Bonzai are the pioneers of the EDM scene in Belgium and has put our country on the map! There are a lot of young people who do not know about Bonzai and I think they need to do some research on Google to see how it all evolved, or they could come and check out the stage and get a lesson in where it all started. Bonzai is still working hard in the scene and is still the biggest progressive label in Belgium, maybe even in Europe. So for this I am happy to be part of the family and to play next to M.I.K.E, Yves De Ruyter and Bonzai Allstars at Tomorrowland 2013.
You guys have began working in the studio together, can you tell us more about that and do you have plans for any more studio time together?
M: We did a collaboration on a track for my upcoming Manu Riga album which will be released later this year on the Bonzai Progressive imprint, for further collaboration we don’t have any specific plans yet.
N: After a remix that Manu had made for me we stayed in touch. He invited me to his studio, one thing led to another and we finished our first track together called “Reborn” which is one of my best productions so far, the collab between us is really working well. On top of that Bonzai have sorted remixes by the likes of Gai Barone, Audio Noir and Anthony Yarraton… it’s gonna be massive!
Manu, apart from your work with Nico what are your plans for the future, do you have any other projects in the works, maybe give us a hint of new material?
M: Apart from my upcoming album “The Darkness Within”, I will also work on a live DJ set with my long time friend Nathan DC, it’s a must these days to bring a studio project on stage to the people. The album itself will have some interesting collaborations which I can’t tell too much about yet. Of course I will also start working on a second album under my moniker “Twins in Mind”, I can tell you that we have found a great new partner for that project, former Blue Stone singer Sheyenne Rivers, but no doubt I will also go deeper into exploring Manu Riga.
Nico, apart from your work with Manu what are your plans for the future, do you have any other projects in the works, maybe give us a hint of new material?
N: I am currently finishing my new studio, but I have made some new tracks in the meantime and they are almost ready to be released. I am working hard to get my label Danza Records back on the road with help from Bonzai Digital. And there are some more collab projects to come with Laurent and Anthony Yarraton from the UK.
Well guys, thanks so much for chatting with us and best of luck with whatever you get up to, thanks.
M & N: Thanks
Manu Riga and Nico Parisi have been busy together in the studio with “Reborn” which is their first collab and comes backed up with some top end remixes. Manu Riga has an impressive list of releases, more recently with “The Darkness Within” and “Everything Comes To An End” both of which saw lots of support. and he is currently working on an artist album with some very nice surprises lined up. Nico is currently DJing at many of Belgium’s top events and has secured a spot on the Bonzai stage at this year’s (2013) Tomorrowland festival. He is also very busy in the studio with future collabs and other projects.
The original mix intros with a rich vocal and cool pads, a strong thumpy kick comes in with crispy clear hats backed up with some nice sweeping FX. The tune settles in to sweet prog vibe with a quality arp taking centre stage and a subtle bassline adding depth. On the break a dark vibe appears with a myriad of sounds blending perfectly alongside the vocal before racing back to pure progressive utopia. Top stuff from this duo and clearly a collab with a lot of spark!
Australian producer Audio Noir steps up to remix duties with a superb offering in his Renaissance Remix. Lots of arps form the backbone here with a filtered synth ebbing and flowing beautifully. A solid groove from the off with an almost bouncy rhythm emanating from the tight drum and perc arrangement . The track takes on a new identity at the first drop with a stunning bassline taking the main focus. Lush pads fill up the break with a surprising twist leading up to the kick back, awesome stuff!
The hugely respected Italian producer Gai Barone is up next with his Tubecore Remix. Gai has been around the scene since the hey days of Italo House and quickly became a popular name on the DJ circuit. 1995 he started to get into production music experimentation, his first release would come much later entitled “Solegirasoli” on Ultimate House Records then “Moving” on Mesmerized. Now very much in demand we can only expect bigger and better from this guy. His remix here stands up tall in the progressive world, he utilises the originals elements brilliantly. The track begins with a gritty edged kick with a cool synth hook filtering through, this builds and builds hypnotising the mind. The track takes off with a bassline that provides sheer depth of sound with some vocal samples fitting perfectly. Real progressive grooves that will be a feature for many sets.
UK based producer Anthony Yarranton is our next remixer. Anthony has gained a lot of attention in a short space of time, he has been described as deep and impactful by his peers and his brand of deep, melodic progressive house has seen releases on labels like Armada, Proton, Baroque and Lowbit. Here, his remix starts off with subtle hats and pads with the vocal sweeping by. Nice chunky kicks and superb bassline soon follow with lots of warm, lush pad work. The break takes us deeper with very subtle melodies teasing along with the richness of the vocal samples. Top quality from the UK here and a definite must for any DJ box!

Rise And Fall debut on Bonzai Progressive with the stunning “Imagination” which comes packed with an awesome remix from Manu Riga.
The original mix is a true prog house affair with all the right ingredients for dancefloors to come alight. Very strong bassline dominates the arrangement with a fantastic thud on the kicks. Huge sweeping pads make an appearance which keeps the ears trained. Real deep prog vibe oozes from this and the relentless groove will have this appear on a lot of playlists.
The highly impressive Manu Riga takes control at the desk for his Prog Remix. Adriaan is a very busy man as he is completing many remixes and lots of his own studio work which is to be announced very soon. Here, he utilises his many skills to deliver an outstanding remix. Strong, solid vibe from the start as the basses build up and combine beautifully with the kicks and percussions. Ethnic flavours come through, while on the break the synths deliver an awesome arp with a beautiful whispered vocal. The track kicks back with style after the break and we settle into this amazing ride, top stuff.

Rue Duo have a few releases under their belts on labels like Black Hole, Straight Up and Wildlife with support from the likes of Erick Morillo, Tom Novy and Lucien Foort to name a few with more projects in the works for the future.
The original mix is a straight shooting prog house tune with a stunning vocal. Nice steady rhythms and a deep chunky bassline converge to give off a sense of depth with the vocal adding contrast. Cleverly arranged percussions and minimal synths make this tune stand out and is a sure fire winner on any floor.
Dark progressive maestro Manu Riga steps up to remix duties and completely transforms the original into something very different. Super punchy kicks intro this track with a brilliant bassline providing a strong groove. On the break we get a very subtle melody before thumping back into the main groove and that bassline, great use of the vocal also. A master of the darker side of prog at work, this is a tune that will be on many playlists.
Tech stalwart Crocy returns to the mixing desk with his remix. The track begins with a cool low end kick that builds to a bassline full of lush heavy vibes, coupled with a round of beautifully arranged percussions and backed up with more of this wonderful vocal. Top notch tech yet again from Crocy and a must have for any box.
Another regular Rishi K. is up next with a fine example of prog house. The vocal forms the most part of the intro before we kick right into a strong, solid groove made up of thick kicks and a round of metallic type percussions. Cool stabby synths weave their way throughout the track and a deep bassline props everything up beautifully, pure quality!
