Ukranian producer Yaroslav returns to Bonzai Progressive after his last instalment under his Pozitive moniker. The two track release “Panorama” comes backed up with two top class remixes. His last track “Colibri” was well received with support coming from all quarters.
The Original mix on “Panorama” serves up a tasty tech house offering with a cool and steady flowing rhythm and a nice deep bass on the lower end. Sharp, crisp hats keep the flow and some nifty acid type sounds give off a raw edge. The break gives us very well crafted pads which seem in total contrast with the sound but blend in perfectly, a nice round of prog to get the party started.
Popular remixer and producer Kevin Vega drops by for a remix and he delivers the goods yet again. Kicking off with a tougher more gritty feel he blends the sounds in his usual unique fashion. The percussions lead to a hypnotic state and the bass sits nicely on the arrangement. A bit of epicness comes through on the sound with the addition of huge soundscapes and very subtle melodies which create tension brilliantly. A top notch remix that would be a welcome addition to any deeper prog set.
Yaroslav’s next track “Tech Clips” brings out the techy side of prog, big chunky kicks are accompanied with some wonderfully arranged percussions and a bassline that reverberates throughout the sound. Tech fuelled synth stabs light up the groove while on the break a fantastic guitar type sound takes over, great stuff!
Purveyor of fine deep grooves Diego Alvez makes a welcome return to the Bonzai stable with his superb remix. Great intro with a shuffled groove that blends effortlessly into a steady four to the floor kick and hat combo. A short melodic arp sequence then dominates the sound and creates a cool progressive charged atmosphere. On the break Diego applies a very cool and strange metallic type synth that captivates and adds intensity, brilliant stuff from Diego!

Kevin is a very popular figure around the Bonzai offices and we are delighted to have received this new release, a stomping progressive two tracker that we know will be a big floor hit.
The title “Fear” starts us off very subtly before a thumping bass crashes through along with some minimal percussive elements and a kick drum that teases throughout. Some real nice pads and stabs provide an epic feel while the FX on offer are top notch. This one is a builder and as the journey unfolds we are left in the midst of a true, proper progressive groove.
The much more melodic in nature “Mururoa” takes us to a different side of prog, hypnotic rhythms, vocals and upbeat melodies all make for a cool trip across this spectrum. The overall groove is quite laidback but this definitely has a huge punch and will perform well in any set.

Music maestro Blufeld delivers another top quality production on our main label with this latest release which is backed up with some superb remixes.
“Viewpoint” is one of those musical moments that captivates the mind, warm, lush sounds swirl around in a melodic carousel. Very subtle intro that soon settles into a solid progressive groove, the many sounds build layer upon layer with a tight drum arrangement cementing the vibe. Real nice flow on this and a firm favourite for sure.
One of our most popular remixers Kevin Vega steps up to the desk with a more darker, harder edged sound while keeping the focus on the original. Well tuned kicks and percussions reside over some awesome synths where the melodies are almost sinister with a gritty feeling, top stuff!
Blufeld ramps up the energy on the first of two of his own remixes. Blufeld’s Distorted Reality Retake is a lot more upbeat with pulsating rhythms and some wonderful variations on the original melodies which will put this remix into a lot of playlists, big sound!
For his second remix we see Blufeld turn his hand to a more chilled out ambient sound which he does so very well. Beautiful sounds with feel good qualities that are perfect for those lazy days or relaxing evenings where your mind will wander, sublime.
Kevin Vega, real name Kevin Verelst, born and raised in Antwerp, Belgium, got familiar with electronic music at a very young age. Experiencing the end of the new beat period late 80’s, he sat on the first row when house music was born.
Although too young to go out to clubs, Kevin discovered music such as ‘House party’ and bands as Channel X, Praga Khan and Neon. Later on, he followed the music as a teenager through programs such as Party Zone on MTV, showing music of FSOL, the Prodigy, Messiah,…
So back in 1994, he knew that this would become his life. At the age of 14, he bought his first vinyl record with ‘lunch money’, given by his parents. So instead of food, he just bought records, in that time more Rave orientated sounds. After a search for his musical identity, the switch came when he first heard Sasha and Digweeds ‘Northern Exposure’ album. From that time on, he became more progressive orientated.
In the year 1999, Kevin started learning by himself how to make music, using Reason 1.0. Bit by bit, his studio came to life, and so did his know-how. Nowadays, he creates different kinds of tunes, going from ambient, over electro and progressive, to more groove and house orientated sounds.
The future looks bright, let’s follow it!
