Zolex returns after the successful “Assault” on Bonzai Progressive. “Vette Jahren” comes packed to the gills with six fantastic remixes from a variety of artists, making this a must have pack.
The Original Mix sets off with a tough edged techno signature as the bass and kicks combine nicely. Subtle note changes on the bass add a cool bounce to the sound as the percussions build a steady rhythm. The track builds in intensity as a vocal sample comes through and on the break things take a darker twist before getting right back into the action, superb stuff!
Danish producer Soren Aalberg is back for more remix goodness after his last stint on Zolex’s “Assault” back in May of this year. Soren’s New Dawn remix certainly beefs up the sound with his effort, big burly kicks with a brilliant offset bass. Great FX work also comes through with some sublime synths going off in the background.
Antwerp based producer and DJ Jerry May is up next with his Boter Bhlum Remix. Jerry grew up with the sounds of Acid House which led him onto being a DJ and in the last few years he has had the chance to perform at many top events across Europe. In 2010 he took up producing with firm results making him one to watch. His remix strips the original to its core and spits out a rolling, pumping groove. The bassline provides most of the jump as it pumps mercilessly. Cool use of the vocals and all this is backed up with a super tight drum arrangement.
Jimmy Galle throws us another of his fantastic remixes in his great style that we all love here at Bonzai. The first thing to hit you here is the massive thump off the kicks which are contrasted with a plucky synth riff. A much more organic sounding rich burrows its way into the sound and is matched well with the well crafted vocal samples, top stuff again from Jimmy!
Rion Oidua delivers a solid remix which takes on a much more tougher vibe. Superb intro with the percussions setting up the groove, the kicks come in with gusto and the track is on course for a techno fuelled ride! Vocal snippets pop up throughout before the track fades out and comes back in with a stunning bassline that really gets things moving. Definitely one to check out here and sure to be featuring on many playlists.
metrONomes aka Jon ManimaL & Magros hooked up their Dark Mix and dark it is. The intro is a sub woofers wet dream as the low frequencies pound out a wall of sound. Snappy kicks are soon added giving stark contrasts as the percussions build up the rhythms smoothly. Darkly sinister and minimal techno from the guys that will surely make a splash!
The Revolving Junkie aka UK based producer Paul Kieran delivers a fine remix indeed. Phat kicks provide the intro to a track that locks you in from the get go. The baseline adds a cool bounce to the track as synth stabs give off a funky element. Again we see the vocal applied very well which gives this track a cool signature. Very club friendly vibe perfect for any set.
