After a short break from Eyepatch and his last release “Canadian Forest EP”, Israeli born Ittai Barkai returns with a funked up maelstrom of pure soul with the “Soul Time EP”
“You Know Soul” takes us on a wild ride of jazz, funk and soul pleasure, muted trumpets and rhythmic bongos with a very familiar organ riff tie this tune up nicely, a cool female vocal asks the question, you know soul, and if you don’t know soul then you will after this!
Proper house driven vibe on “Soundtime”, kicking off with well timed percussions using bongos and creating a bouncing groove. This track then fills up with some nifty piano work and a cracking bassline, great vocal on the break adds an extra bit of flavour.
“Walk The Deck” carries on the house vibe with an intro full some classy deep synths and strings and building to a cool steady groove, melancholic stringed melodies find their way into the track as it chugs along and creates a depth to the overall tune.
Finally on this EP we have “Frontline”, a truly sublime piece of music with lots of strange FX and a gritty bassline, deeper strings come in and a dark funky groove is established.
A very welcome return for Ittai on Eyepatch and one that will gain a lot of attention.

EPISODE 166: Tiago Ribeiro – Grooviest Cat (AU Records)
AU Orange is proud to present its third release. Deepest than ever, Tiago Ribeiro’s “Grooviest Cat” is an EP full of surprises, containing the original version and 3 wonderful remixes from Joao Teixeira (Portugal), Filipa Rebelo (Portugal) and Jazzam (Ecuador).
Tiago Ribeiro made its original version very pleasant to classic deep-house lovers with its “chicago beat style” fused with delayed saxophone sounds, typical delayed house music female shouts and the unusual using of “mafia style” vocals and flute sounds. This very simple composition has been tested and approved in the dance floor, making the crowd move to its groove.
Joao Teixeira, portuguese DJ and house music producer is the newest acquisition on our artist team. His remix shown how perfectly he fits AU Orange’s philosophy, delivering his meaningful mix, enabling the listener to take a trip while listening to his track. Beautifully sculpted, this version is marked by its random sounding percussion and every little detail in its production, from the usage of the right sounding pads and stabs, ambience violins and brilliant vocal treatment. We asked, Joao delivered!
Filipa Rebelo presented a solid sounding mix with a beautiful composition between different synth sounds, building a beautiful sounding deep-house track. Very well produced, this mix has a different basis, changing the classic “chicago house beat” with very powerful and effective new-school percussion. Once more Filipa’s done it and made her magic, grabbing the “old schoolish’ original mix and recreating in a completely different way, while keeping all its feelings and beauty.
Jazzam brought to the EP his techie vision of “Grooviest Cat”, spicing it to ground shaking levels! If every version in this EP has its own hour to be played, Jazzam’s version is definitely the 6AM version. Outrageously dance-floor effective, this mix counts with beautifully synthesized arp’s and great overall arranging and its our big trump to hit the most demanding crowds.

For the very first time Göksel is proudly presenting his 2 magnificent tech house & techno tracks on Sounds R Us Recordings.

This young & dynamic producer duo from Tallinn is worth keeping an eye & ear on.

This release comes with a brilliant Stefano Noferini remix with early support from Slam, Luciano, Anderson Noise, Benoit C, Funkatron, Scan Mode,…
EPISODE 170: Ittai Barkai – Canadian Forest EP (Eyepatch Recordings)
Fast rewind a few years back and you’ll find Ittai gently leaning towards a turntable, headphones on, listening to music. May it be African chorals, early techno or the Beatles, it all lay side by side on the long & endless shelves of musical ideas.
Years have passed and the magic is cautiously blended into know how – Amplifiers and compressors, Drum arrangements and notes, Cutoffs and wavetables all put together side by side to reproduce and recur similar musical ideas.
After producing music for the World Wildlife Foundation and other soundtrack projects, Ittai is lately focused on producing simple yet aesthetic electronic tracks well aimed at both home listeners and club DJ’s.
strong>EPISODE 171: Airwave – Cathedrals Of Hope (L*C*D Recordings)
God, this is one hell of a cracker!
Cathedrals Of Hope is an outstanding piece of music. Credible, Strong, with an Attitude.
Reset marks Airwave’s return to heavier sounds for a trancer that’s larger than life.
And Last But Not Least: a Brand New Version of his last Smasher Atlas Winds, this time featuring great vocals by Francesca Genco. Should justify its presence into every actual dj’s recordbox for the next months to come.
