ALEX PHILIPP – BUDDHA HIGHWAY (GREEN MARTIAN)

Russian producer Alex Philipp returns to Green Martian the superb Buddha Highway. He first showed up at GM back in the Summer of 2014 with his debut Parallel Crosspoint, and this time round you will see that the quality remains with a strong progressive house vibe.

Buddha Highway gets right into a deep progressive groove from the outset as pounding drums are met with a deep bassy atmosphere. Swirling pads fill the background as stabby chords join in alongside a wonderfully lush low end bassline that is laced with a sophisticated groove. Brighter synths come into play and stand is cool contrasts the lower frequencies. Tight drums and crispy hats keep the rhythm flowing as we get totally hooked on this one for the duration. Top notch stuff and well worth adding to your collection.

Helena Wants It intros with a superb punchy kick drum and crispy closed hat alongside a deep droning pad. A superb probing bass makes its way into the sound and surges the track forward and locks it into a solid progressive groove. Sweeping synths are littered throughout delivering a complete kaleidoscope of colourful textured sounds. A real nice slab of prog that will sit beautifully in any late night set.

ANTONE – ENGINE (GREEN MARTIAN)

Russian DJ and producer Anton Batukov aka AnTone debuts on Green Martian with the wonderful two tracker entitled Engine, which is a super fine slice of tech and progressive house that will surely get any floor rocking. Anton has been DJing since 2005 and moved to producing music since 2010 using the likes of Reason as his main tool alongside VST plug-ins. He likes to dabble in many different genres and can turn his hand to trance, house, techno and disco. Definitely a talent to keep an eye on.

ENLUSION – INNERVATE EP (GREEN MARTIAN)

Russian DJ and producer Kirill Smirnov aka Enlusion debuts on our Green Martian imprint with his Innervate EP, a superb two track progressive trance workout that would fit beautifully into any set. This young artist is making his mark on the progressive scene with some gusto, in just a very short space in time he has notched up quite an impressive back catalogue with releases on labels such as Unique Sound, Abstract Space, OLD SQL Recordings and Mystic Carousel. Towards the end of 2015 he was on remix duty for our very own Blufeld’s Letting You Go on Sunstate Records. In January 2016 he announced a new record label called Forescape Digital which intends to focus on the progressive, trance and techno genres, exciting times indeed we’re delighted to have him on board at Green Martian.

Innervate sets out with a real epic building theme that hooks you right in from the off. Chunky kick drums and bright crispy hats keep the rhythm flowing as we are carried along by warm pads and droning basses that deliver a fresh almost Spring vibe. A beautiful melodic sequence comes through and provides the perfect narration on this superb solid slice of progressive. Just the tonic needed in the middle of Winter, this one will warm up any venue.

Memories intros with a cool percussion led sequence which takes us up to the pumping kicks and a wonderfully lush bass that wraps you up in its warmth. In the background we get a taste of some cool and complex layers that blend effortlessly together, while up top a sweet melody sweeps through the sound. The break delivers more of those Spring-like melodies alongside that fantastic bass drone before slipping right back into the main track for the duration. Brilliant stuff here that will bring a lot of joy in the dark months.

SCANFIX – MIRRORS EP (GREEN MARTIAN)

Russian producer Scanfix aka Shamil Gaisin debuts on Green Martian with the superb three tracker Mirrors EP. Born in the Republic of Bashkortostan, Russia, he really started to listen to music in the early to mid nineties. U96, The Prodigy and Scooter where some of his favourite artists. When he heard PPK he made the switch to trance and then Goa and Psy before discovering progressive sounds in 2005. In 2001 he started to explore producing on DAW’s like Cakewalk 6 and later FL Studio and Cubase SX2. 2009 saw his first release as a remix for Alexander Polyakov on iRecords before he made his full release debut on Mistique Music with Memoirs and then later an appearance on JOOF’s Progressions Of Trance in September 2015.

Breath Part A intros with a pacey kick and sharp hats delivering the perfect set-up for the track to build. Super cool snares grace the downbeat before a riser crashes out and reveals the sublime bassline that accompanies us on this fantastic progressive fuelled journey. This track has a lot going on and the sounds combine beautifully, from acid lines to melodic synths and high strings, we get locked into it all. The icing on the cake though is the super tight drum arrangement that keeps the rhythms flowing and the dance floors pumping.

Breath Part B takes the tempo down slightly and focuses more on the beautifully crafted synths and swirling atmospherics. The drum section packs a huge punch with that solid kick and rhythmic hat combi. Bright synths form into cool melodies and are the perfect match for the superb bassline that powers through the sound controlling the groove. A late night stomper for sure, not to be missed.

Mirrors eases into existence with a soft pad and swirling FX as a chunky kick fades in and takes control. Cool percussions build up and bring a steady flowing rhythm as various sound go off in the background. The bassline bursts out and settles into a full on driving progressive groove that hooks you in for the duration. This one is relentless and continues to drive forward unloading subtle melodies on its way. A superb slice of prog here and a definite must have track.

EXPERIMENTAL FEELINGS – BETWEEN THE STARS (GREEN MARTIAN)

Experimental Feelings aka Spanish DJ and producer Toni Gonzalez returns to Green Martian with the fantastic three tracker entitled Between The Stars. This one comes after a successful debut back in September 2015 with his Indian Trip EP and more recently he showed up as a guest remixer on Audio Noir’s – Your Love. Prepare to get lost in a world of beautifully deep melodic progressive house on this one.

Between The Stars intros with a deep vibe that settles us into a solid progressive groove. Chunky kicks and crispy hats are met with a deep sweeping pads and an equally deep probing bass that dominates the low end beautifully. Subtle melodies can be heard but are overshadowed by the deep nature of the track. The break allows the melody to come through for a short time before we are consumed once more by the deeper elements. A top notch track that will sit perfectly in those late night prog sets.

Underwater Love sets out with a real nice kick and a rich string in the background that delivers a cool melody. A deep throbbing bassline comes through and takes us deeper into the progressive abyss as brighter sounds keep the track fresh up top. A wonderfully crafted sweeping melodic sequence comes in and stays the course on the break before the bass takes control once more and we are led back to this solid groove for the duration. A fantastic display of the deeper side of prog house that is not to be missed.

Don’t Be Afraid intros with a solid kick drum which is joined by cool shuffling hats and a mesmerizing string that hangs beautifully in the background alongside spacey FX. The bassline bubbles up from below and takes the sound deep into progressive with ease. This one stays deep, the subtle melodies keep the track locked into a deep groove. On the break we get blown away by a wonderfully intense sequence complete with a stunning spoken vocal before the main track kicks back in. A real progressive treat here that will be a welcome addition in any set.

He is a modest producer who ‘just makes music’, but we think he is something special and these two tracks will prove just that.

Sunrise In Pluto opens with a very cool expansive sound that befits the title of the track in every way. Rich pads open up and creating a real smooth texture. Soft edged warm bass notes come through before turning to a more rugged, gritty bassline that dominates the track beautifully. Those pads layer up against a sweet melodic pluck that just sends the track higher and higher. The break enhances those melodies beautifully with twangy synths that melt together perfectly. A real smooth slice of mesmerizing progressive house, top notch.

Sunset In Mercury intros with a muffled kick alongside swelling pads and a subtle arpeggiated note. Cool percussions start6 to form up and provide a nice flowing rhythm as we are drawn into the sound. The kicks break loose and are joined by a beautiful warm bass the flows effortlessly along the low end. Alien style FX litter the background as the cosmic vibe gathers pace and takes us deeper into the groove. On the break we are treated to a sublime display of melodies that weave colourful patterns that evoke that sunset feeling. A fantastic slice of prog to warm up the coming Winter nights.

EXPECTED MIRAGE – OBSERVERS EP (GREEN MARTIAN)

Expected Mirage returns after a hiatus of almost 5 years with the fantastic three tracker, Observers EP. We last got a taste of this guys progressive grooves back in 2010 with These Satellites which went on to appear on many compilations under the Bonzai banner. Prior to this he had cuts on Progrez, starting in 2008 with Old Castle and in 2009 with Reflective EP. Remixes also came thick and fast during this period for artists such as Blufeld, Arto Kumanto, Joost Glazenburg, L.A.V.I, D.E.E.P and Zakat Project. Great to see this guy back at the helm and we hope to see more in the future.

Time Does Not Exist opens with a stuttering percussion pattern that branches out into a solid progressive groove with the introduction of a punchy kick and a rising synth that warms the track beautifully. The bassline soon takes over and we find ourselves locked on to a deep lush groove. The chords deliver a subtle classic feel to the track while on the break we are faced with a sublime chorus of melodies and a hypnotic key that takes us back into full on mode for the duration. Superb stuff and a definite must have.

Morning Scene offers up a wonderful trek into a melody driven pure progressive house cut. A beautifully crafted construction awash with a myriad of colourful melodies that cascade through the sound effortlessly. At the backend we have a solid chugging groove that will rock out any floor, while up front we are treated to those fantastic melodies that will surely brighten up the start of any day. A perfectly chosen title for an epic sound, one to watch here.

Origins Of Reality intros with a subtle percussion arrangement before the kickdrum filters in to deliver its punch and get the track moving. A pulsating bass resonates right through the sound and becomes a big focus with its hypnotic draw. As the layers build we feel the anticipation rising with short sharp synth hits echoing throughout. Suddenly we’re engulfed with the most amazing arpeggiated synth line that just goes on and on and on, creating a magical vibe that takes us back in time. A classic progressive groove ensues that is reminiscent of the hey days of proper progressive with a sprinkling of trance. On the break we enter the rabbit hole as swirling pads and beautifully tweaked melodies build a wall of textured sounds before we get slammed right back into the main track. An epic monster of a tune, and at just over 11 minutes this one will dominate any set, a future classic for sure.

Dell opens with a cool percussion led intro with a smooth warm pad filling the background before making way for punchy kicks and cosmic synths. A deep droning bass tone adds depth to the sound and gives the track its progressive groove. Mesmerizing melodies deliver splashes of colour to the sound and keep you locked on throughout. Top notch stuff, a must have track.

Iincessant gets right into a deep groove from the outset as chunky kicks and a superb hypnotic bassline get the progressive juices flowing. Crispy, shuffling hats provide a steady flowing rhythm to the track as swelling strings and pads bring in rich textures. Throughout the track we are treated to a myriad of melodies that give a brighter touch in contrast to the deeper elements. An excellent slice of melodic progressive house that will be a welcome addition in any collection.

TIM AARON – DISTANCE WAITING (GREEN MARTIAN)

Tim Aaron debuts on Green Martian with the wonderfully lush two tracker – Distance Waiting. Tim aka Aeropolis has been into music from a young age, he started to experiment with sounds and got into trance music before venturing into the progressive side of the tracks. A very much experimental producer, Tim loves to recycle sampled sounds creating his own textured palettes. Great to see him on board and we look forward to much more in the future.

Distance intros with a punchy kick and a tight slapped drum roll in the background. Soft claps and various other percussive elements start to find their way into the track as a warm bass rises up from the depths. The bass soon becomes more prominent in the sound and is joined by a superb sub bass bringing in a harsher sound. Atmospheric synths deliver cool stabs of sound with a melodic progressive edge. The break features a brilliant arp that hypnotizes as it filters off and on before those solid beats return and slam us back onto the floor. A simply stunning slice of progressive house that will do well in any set.

Waiting sets out with a simple punchy kick with subtle percussions hanging off the fringes. Spacey pads fade in and out as the percussions are filtered in alongside a crispy sharp hat. The cool rhythms of the track get an injection of warmth from the subtle synths before a superb rolling bassline takes over. The pads hang in the background beautifully creating a wonderful texture to the sound that blends effortlessly with the groove. The break takes us deeper with the bass fading out leaving behind a brilliantly tweaked synthline before returning to takes us to the climax where we get thrust back into the main sound for the duration. Top notch stuff that is definitely not to be missed.

SWEEN – TRANSPORT (GREEN MARTIAN)

Fabio Andrea Petrini aka Sween makes a welcome return to Green Martian with the superb two tracker entitled – Transport. His last GM outing was back in April 2015 with Neutron which quickly gained a lot of attention.

Transport gets things moving with a pacey tempo filled with a solid kick drum and nice, crispy shuffling hats. Probing basses find their way through the sound and lay down a superb progressive groove. Cool voices float through and are joined by a building synth line that hypnotizes alongside some fantastic rattling percussions. An intensity creeps into the track as rich strings ebb and flow leaving behind a kaleidoscope of colour and wonderfully textured sounds. Excellent stuff here that you will definitely want in your playlist.

Autocoscienza intros with a smooth kick drum that packs a lot of low end giving it an almost laid back feel. Extremely cool percussions fade in and bring a surreal twist to the sound and in the background we feel the bass start to bubble up. A maelstrom of bells creates a chaotic picture that really gets right in under your skin. In a surprising twist we get hit with some brilliant chord stabs that seem to fit right in on the chaos surrounding them. An absolute stomper that will turn a few heads for sure.
