EXPERIMENTAL FEELINGS – INDIAN TRIP EP (GREEN MARTIAN)

Experimental Feelings aka Spanish DJ and producer Toni Gonzalez gets his full Green Martian release with the superb three tracker – Indian Trip EP. He first showed up in September 2015 on remix duties for Pavlin Petrov featuring Selina Stoane’s Feeling Alive which gained great support, and prior to this he appeared on Green Martian’s Afterhour Trax 17 and Bonzai’s Progressive House 15.

Indian Trip gets right down to business from the off and takes no prisoners with its punchy kicks and tight percussion arrangement. Swirling sounds create a wonderfully atmospheric vibe that drives the groove beautifully before getting some backup from the solid bass line that bubbles up from the depths. The groove is relentless here as we get totally hooked right up to the break where the track digs deep into an Eastern flavour filled with Indian voices and wonderful melodies. Fantastic slice of prog here that will definitely light up any floor.

Forces Of Nature gets the progressive juices flowing with a truly atmospheric vibe filled with airy pads and melodic strings that melt into the sound with ease. A cool synth chord is present throughout and serves as a mesmerising focal point. The bass line trods along with a smooth driving force that shores the track up perfectly and allows the melodic nature of the groove to shine. The break takes us to a more intense arena with a deep vocal and some harsher synths that add a tougher edge to the sound. Top notch stuff yet again from this guy.

Insomnia intros with a complex arrangement of percussions drums and sweeping synth pads that when combined provide a solid groove filled with progressive delights. A punchy, probing bass enters the fray and gets the groove going on a deeper course. A seemingly haphazard affair which alludes to that sense of insomnia where you find yourself torn between sleep and an awakened state. The break almost frees you from this inertia with a subtle yet short lived melody that threatens to cut through the darkness only to be swallowed up and slammed back into the main groove for the duration. The perfect tool for those late night sessions for sure.

Vanishing Point delivers a solid progressive workout that packs a lot of energy which is dispatched by a driving bassline and a super tight arrangement. Faith In Space intros with a friendly kick and hat combi complete with rhythmic percussions that settle us into a perfect, upbeat dancey groove. Ibiza-esque basses wash over the sound with a warming glow that really lifts the track beautifully while cool pads pulse along the sidechain. The track breaks to reveal a wonderful display of melody that captivates with intricate patterns. The melody fades out and leaves behind a solid grooving progressive house cut that will definitely have the floors bouncing for the remainder of the Summer.

On Give Me A Sign, Aitra enlists the vocal talents of Angel Falls who adds a wonderful mystifying character to the sound that will max out the euphoric receptors in your brain. The track itself boasts a solid groove to get the feet shuffling as a tight drum arrangement leads the way alongside a well crafted rhythmic percussion section. The White Isle gets another nod as blissful melodic guitar riffs float across the sound. The vocal definitely gives the track a huge boost making this an absolute must have cut for the terrace or the club.

Lots more to come from this guy in 2015, so stay tuned. The Chase comes packed with three top notch remixes.

The Original Mix intros with a superb kickdrum that packs a nice punch on the low end and some cool rhythmic drums to get the floor moving. A deep, probing bassline comes through and takes over with its powerful groove and is soon joined by cool pads that sweep across sound. Sustained chords drive the hypnotic edge of the track as the shuffling hats keep the rhythm flowing. On the break those chords come to life with sharp stabs that split the low frequencies in two. A top notch cut that will be a welcome addition in many sets.

The first of three remixes is Jekyll’s Metastasis Remix which intros with a cool elemental flow as rattling chimes are met with blowing winds and light rain. In the background a warm pad begins its rise alongside a distant heart beat. A nice big punchy kick comes out of nowhere with crisp hats in tow and we soon find ourselves on the cusp of an epic ride. Sharp, bright melodic keys dish out a cool lead as a siren winds up and takes us deep into the groove with the addition of a driving bassline. On the break the melodies break free in various guises and deliver a sublime sequence before crashing right back into the main track for the duration. A wonderfully rich progressive journey you will not want to miss.

Onez!e returns to remix duty on Green Martian after a short hiatus. We last saw this talented artist back in November 2014 with his remix on Lonely Sun & Nicolas Agudelo’s Robotronica which turned a few heads and gained great support. Here he takes the remix on a fantastic ride filled with wonderful melodies and a driving relentless bassline that never lets up. An intensity develops in the track as those background pads and winding synths rise and rise bringing the track to its highest level before we drop into the break where the bass remains king. A deep progressive monster that will shake up a lot of floors.

Video Life debuts on Green Martian with a fantastic remix that will fast become a go to track for sure. On the intro we get a soft start as muted kicks are joined by a cascading percussion and shuffling hats. The softness disappears as a superb offset bass ploughs through and dominates the sound. The bass transforms after a short break and delivers a powerful, driving groove that is matched beautifully with strong chords and a tight drum arrangement. A definite go to track that will keep the party rocking.
