Portuguese producer Scrub aka Joal returns to Eyepatch with his first full release ‘Feed Me’ which features the fantastic vocals of Barbara Wahnon as well as a raft of quality remixes. Having already done the rounds on various compilations we felt it necessary to give this track another outing with top notch remixes.
First up we have the Original Mix which gets going with a smooth kick and percussion combi, setting up the groove beautifully in the process. Punchy basses come through adding a cool deep vibe to the sound, this is coupled with nice key work and a great vocal from Barbara. A real mover here as the sounds come together superbly and will force you to get that ass shakin’!
Legendary Belgian DJ and producer Eric Powa B delivers his Funk You Up Remix and he does it in style. Nice and big pounding kicks are the dominant force as subtle hats sit back. Huge funk appeal with the synth work and the groovy bass alongside a fantastic electro fuelled snare roll and percussion section. The vocal comes through brilliantly and is the perfect complement to these funky grooves. Another top notch performance from Eric and will no doubt be a big feature among many.
Portuguese artist Dave Nash debuts on Eyepatch with his stunning remix. Dave has seen his music perform well across many labels and he shows no signs of slowing up with cuts like this. Much more to come from this guy so keep an eye out. Here he takes the track to another level with his unique style. The intro boasts a superb chunky kick with contrasting crisp and sharp hats. An amazing bassline comes through and sets the track off on a smooth deep journey filled with a beautiful vocal and some very cool synth work that just sits so perfectly in the sound, not to be missed!
UK based DJ and producer Ed Lee hits the Eyepatch stable again with a sublime remix that takes us deep into house grooves with the help of a simply fantastic vocal performance. Classic kick and hat intro sets the scene up nicely and paves the way for the bass to slowly rise up from the depths. Big house chords become the dominant force in the track and give it a real smooth and groovy feel. Proper deep vibes here that will get attention from many quarters!
Rounding off this pack we have the increasingly popular Rion Oidua on remix duty. Rion has been doing the rounds on quite a few remixes with impressive results. Here he applies his skills to churn out a deep tech fuelled stomper of a remix. Cool percussive intro with the chunky kicks fading through before the rhythmic vibes get into full swing with the vocals standing out nicely. The bass makes a late showing on the break but absolutely makes up for it as it takes hold of the track brilliantly, resulting in a nice and tight ride which is a must for any DJ box!
Yaroslav Lenzyak is back with this wonderful two tracker entitled ‘Utz’. His last outing ‘Jupiter’ saw rave reviews from all quarters and was featured on Bonzai’s latest vinyl venture ‘Eyepatched Volume 4′.
First up we have the epic ‘Utz’ which gets going with a bass fuelled intro to get the juices flowing. The intro will have you hooked in no time as it hypnotizes you with that pulsing bass. Nice and chunky kicks soon get moving and are joined by smooth percussions which build a rhythm beautifully. Surreal deep house keys seem to morph out of nowhere and bring with them a groovy riff that will have those feet shuffling along to the groove. A truly epic ride through the deeper side of house and one that will bring a lot of pleasure.
Next we have ‘Last Night’, full bodied, phat kicks provide the intro with a nice and subtle hat sitting back and creating a smooth rhythm. A lush synth note stands out and as the track progresses it transforms the sound superbly. The huge deep bass packs a massive punch here and is the power in the track as it pulses through. The track evolves with expert precision as those synths make subtle changes to alter the grooves keeping a nice flowing dynamic in the sound. Superb stuff!
German DJ and producer Deeply Hi aka Simon Gartner marks his first outing on Eyepatch with this classy two tracker entitled ‘We Are’. Simon is well into the deeper more minimal side of house, he loves to create deep dubby and smooth grooves for those warm ups or very late night parties. He also turns his hand at a bit of techno and disco which gives him a cool and diverse range.
‘We Are’ intros with a cool percussion arrangement that steadily builds and will have you toe tapping in no time. A big and well rounded kick soon dominates and is joined by smooth and deep house chord which becomes a big focus on this journey as it evolves from its deep roots and transforms into a fantastic stab. Throughout the track a whispering vocal adds great character to the sound and gives off a truly hypnotic feel, superb stuff!
‘Reduced To The Assence’ sets off with a cool and flowing upbeat vibe, a nice thumpy kick is accompanied by a bright hat and crispy claps which really gets the rhythm flowing. A smooth dubby bass fills in the offbeats as deep chords weave out their patterns. In the background a shutter release adds a cool textured effect. A surreal and bubbly synth sequence finds its way into the groove and takes the track on a twisting ride, a must for any box!
Johnny Deep aka Yonathan Dahan delivers a stunning two tracker in his latest offering entitled ‘New Era EP’.
The title track ‘New Era’ gets us moving with a tight deep tech vibe right from the get go. A very strong kick is joined by some very cool percussions and huge industrialised FX. The track breaks down with a brilliant synth coming in over some spoken vocals before heading back to the main track, but this time a deep resonating bassline joins the party. Throughout the track the drum arrangements continue to evolve, particularly with the snares. Quirky little chords creep into the sound while the spoken vocal continues to add character, very cool stuff!
‘I Do’ is up next and intros with a big and powerful kick alongside some expertly crafted percussion and FX patterns. The kicks are transformed with the addition of a pounding bass hitting each of the kicks. Very intricate sequences from the percussions are a dominating feature and are joined by a round of vocal samples which really set the track off beautifully. On the break the synths begin to work and stay with the track for the duration creating a stunning groove which is not to be missed.
Italian DJ and producer Ivan Masa debuts on Eyepatch with the sublime three tracker ‘From London EP’ which also comes with two superb remixes to whet your appetite. Ivan grew up with music all around him so it’s no wonder his path led him to become involved in music. Having played at many gigs around his hometown Ivan soon found his niche within the early Acid sounds of the eighties. With successful releases across many labels we are delighted to welcome this great talent in the Bonzai family.
‘From London’ is up first and sets off on a smooth deep grooving ride as chunky kicks and sharp hats take over from a cool percussion led intro. Surreal chords are accompanied by a high pitched synth adding cool textures to the sound. The deep bass lifts the track up a notch and is soon joined by some vocal samples and a round of grungy synths, superb stuff!
The Original Mix of ‘Old School In My Skin’ has a very cool retro theme as expected from the title. A single high string is joined by a percussion line and a very cool vocal sample. Big phat kicks soon come through as a groovy bassline takes shape alongside funky house synths. The main break delivers a cool chord sequence with some quality snares taking us into each section before blasting back into this deep fuelled groove, top notch stuff!
Italian DJ and production duo 2Manyfold aka Francesco Fortini and Giovanni Martino are up on remix duty on ‘Old School In My Skin’. The guys have worked with Ivan in the past and have themselves released a multitude of track across many labels. Here they transform the original into a full on deep fuelled masterclass in house music. Nice and smooth snare driven intro with cool synths making their mark. The kicks really set the track up perfectly for the journey ahead with the vocal samples fitting in perfectly. The track evolves beautifully as a big bass sound bursts through to dominate. On the break a very well crafted synth sequence shines through before some smooth chords take over, excellent workout from these guys and definitely one to watch!
‘Sweet In My Heart’ is up next and intros with a fantastic vocal which soon leads to a massive kick and bass combo that will pump any floor. Big and bouncy grooves abound and as the sound progresses we get some funky synths and vocals which add huge character to the proceedings. Big tune here and a must for any box.
The Italian connection continues as Daniele Kama steps up to remix ‘Sweet In My Heart’. Daniele has already carved a cool niche with his sound and has appeared on the home of deep house, Piston Recordings, with his EP ‘She Appears’ in 2012 as well as other remixes on various Bonzai imprints. Here he keeps the deep grooves flowing with a stunning display of sounds. Nice and smooth intro as a sweeping synth is accompanied by a single clap, soon a huge kick appears and is suitably coupled with a pounding deep bass. The vocals are prominent throughout and on the main break they marry well with a dry, sublime melody. A sure fire big hitter here with all the qualities to rip up any floor.
Deep house guru and all round funkster Victor is back at Eyepatch with this wonderful three tracker ‘Ready For Something Nu’. Victor always produces the goods in his work and judging by his last offering ‘Nightlife Unlimited’ we are in for another round of deep fuelled goodness.
The title track ‘Ready For Something Nu’ goes into a full on solid rhythmic flow right from the off. Well tweaked kicks sit over a nice display of percussions and a low end bass, smooth deep house keys weave a smooth pattern as sweet pads work the upper layers. Throughout the track groovy sounds pop up adding to the diversity on offer. Funky, groovy, deep house pleasure and a must for any box.
‘The Deep Goes On’ serves up another slice of Victor’s trademark deep sound. Classic kick and percussion intro leads us into a beautifully layered, lush array of synths that ebb and flow. Silky smooth pads are accompanied by rich keys giving that groovy feeling. The groove is beefed up by a cracking bass that just sits nicely within the sound and on the break the keys are let loose making this a sure fire hit at many parties.
Next we have ‘Tiefklang’ which has a simple kick intro that takes us to a super crispy hat before a sublime swaying pad takes over. This is shored up by a well balanced deep throbbing bass which adds a real sense of depth to the sound. Metallic sounding plucky notes come through and fit well in contrast to the deeper edge on the track. The break unleashes a superb cacophony pads before slamming back into a full on, hypnotic deep house ride, brilliant stuff!
The ever impressive Dimitry Liss returns to Eyepatch after stints on Bonzai Basiks and Piston Recordings. Here we have Dimitry’s sublime brand of deep house in the shape of his two tracker ‘Gentle Elton’.
The title track gets us moving with a big chunky kick that packs a huge punch indeed. Very crisp open hats are the perfect match to the kicks and provide a solid base for the flowing rhythms. The bassline cuts through the sound beautifully with a groovy flavour, in the background strings sweep along while upfront some very well tweaked synths make their mark. The vocals stand out well here and definitely makes for a floor shaker!
‘Jelly Jelly’ is up next and does not disappoint. Smooth intro with kicks and percs as a vocal filters through with expert manipulation. A super deep groovy bassline pops up soon after and the vocal becomes more prominent. Proper deep house grooves are all over this track with the funk factor coming through later on, top notch stuff yet again from Dimitry.
Daniel makes a welcome return to Eyepatch with his four tracker ‘Marlboro Station’. His last outing ‘Lofty EP’ showcased his skills beautifully and now we are treated to more of this superb talent.
First up we have the title track ‘Marlboro Station’ which sets off with a very cool kick and percussion arrangement before a wonderful plucky bass takes over the sound. An array of metallic sounding FX adds a stark tech twist to the sound, this is contrasted by the occasional warm pad and synth note adding smooth textures, great stuff.
‘Brighthouse’ goes deeper with a smooth house vibe built in alongside elements of techno. The intro boasts a nice chunky kick and crispy hat combi, warm house keys soon filter through and blend well with the more techy edged FX that peek through. A well rounded deep bass makes a show and the track topped off with some very strong piano riffs, top quality track.
Up next is ‘Water Tunnel’ with a gritty intro made up of cool percs and a thumpy kick. Raw sounding FX start to take over the sound as a stunning bassline builds the momentum. Again we see some fine deep piano chords coming through with a contrasting strings and pads. A superb guitar also accompanies the piano and makes for a fantastic deep tech house ride, brilliant!
‘Fallen Star’ takes things deep with a stunning array of sounds on offer. Tight drums and percussions set the scene beautifully as a backdrop to some expertly crafted synth keys that dominate throughout. All these sounds are complimented with a deep rooted bass and a myriad of sweeping FX, quite an amazing sound with an almost laidback, chilled groove.

Ittai makes a welcome return to EP with his superb three tracker entitled ‘My Sugar Brother EP’. Ittai’s last release ‘Dost’ received great support from all over which is evidence of his highly skilled approach at producing music. No doubt we will continue to be blown away with what this guy has to offer.
First up is ‘Hyoung Nim’ which intros with a smooth kick and percussion combination, this leads nicely into a well rounded synth riff that carries the hallmarks of true deep house grooves. The bass eases into the sound and powers the track beautifully with its deep lush vibes. The groove bounds on relentlessly before taking a respite on the break where the synths come to the fore and the bass takes a back seat. We see the full force of this track once again as the grooves rebuild and leaving us in a deep house utopia.
‘Sugar Caned’ turns up the heat with a somewhat deep and energetic workout. Big chunky kicks abound as a subtle percussive line keeps the rhythm. The break comes early with a sneak peek at some warm chords before the bassline enters the groove. The track continues to build with cool percussive elements and beautiful synths resulting in an seemingly endless and hypnotic journey.
‘Home Is Where The House Is’ takes us right into the heart of deep house. Solid intro with thick kicks and chords with more chords fading through. The bassline eases into the mix very subtly and before you know it we are locked into a fine deep groove. Percussions build nicely creating smooth rhythms and making this a must have for those deeper sets.
Mexican producer Dan Cano debuts on Eyepatch with ‘Moving In You’, a sublime slice of deep house which is a perfect edition to the EP collection. Dan has seen releases on labels like Deepclass Records and Kimbo Records with no doubt much more to come from this young and talented guy.

French DJ and producer Gaulois aka Sebastien Desay ramps up the pressure with his remix which is full of deep and groovy flavours. Kicking off the track has a classic style feel with the drums and percussion blending brilliantly alongside a short vocal sample. Plucky synth notes begin to show before a lush synth takes the helm. The bassline gives off a cool rolling vibe combining well and creating a true deep and groovy cut.
French DJ and producer Gaulois delivers superb fresh sounding deep house beats with his two tracker, “Living On The Music”. Gaulois is a moniker of one of Bonzai’s newest signings Sebastien Desay and already we have seen some top quality productions from this guys with much more to come.
“Living On The Music” gives deep house a new lease of life with stunning fresh beats and a slow darkly groove. Excellent drum arrangements get the rhythm flowing while the bass reaches up from way down in the depths. The track has many quality features but a hypnotic synth and a wonderful spoken vocal are two elements that really shine through, one to watch!
“Young Talent” delivers a fantastic upbeat type of vibe with bright sounds and a retro style coming out of the drums and deep analogue bass. Lots of quirky one shot synth stabs keep the track fresh alongside a very cool rhythmic percussion arrangement. The vocal on this stands out beautifully and is the perfect companion to a stunning track.+

Back with another round of deep house goodness on Eyepatch is Victor Maximiliano and his three tracker “Nightlife Unlimited”. Victor continues to provide top quality productions and remains a regular feature on Bonzai Basik Beats Radioshow. His last outing “Some Mellow Deep” gained a lot of recognition from all over which is a testament to his branch of deep grooves.
First up is the Deep Mix of “Nightlife Unlimited”, chunky kicks and subtle percussions provide a solid base to build on as cool swirly synth chords break through. A deep bass punches through and is a perfect companion for the many house chords on offer. Smooth and steady rhythms that will be a great addition in any set.
“Gimme Some” intros with a smooth and groovy synth before a chunky kick punches in. Very crisp and sharp hats level things out and provide for a flowing rhythmic vibe. Wonderfully crafted synths in all shapes and sizes add a funky element and very clever arranging keeps things on track, great stuff yet again from Victor.
“Midnight Circus” goes straight into house mode from the off with an awesome kick and synth pad combination. A plucky bass comes through and creates a very upbeat groove with the percussions doing a great job on the rhythms. The track breaks into a massive synth driven riff filled with all the delights of a full on club fuelled vibe, expertly arranged and a definite must have!
DJ and producer Koen Mertens debuts on Eyepatch with the return of his Daddy moniker and this two tracker entitled “Hidden Mojo”. Koen began his music journey on an old Atari computer and sampler. He has played at many of Belgium’s top clubs and in the late nineties he created Daddy. Soon he was picked up by Bonzai and saw two fantastic releases “Rotationz” on Bonzai Fiesta and “Raw” on Bonzai Limited. With much more in the pipeline we are excited to see what the future brings for this top class talent.
“Hidden Mojo” intros with a multitude of percussions that sets the rhythm up nicely before the kicks and bass come through solidifying groove into a stunning deep house cut. Great vocal sample used adds depth to the track and on the break a fantastic 80’s synth melody pops up in a hands-in-the-air moment. Great stuff hear and a track that will turn a few heads for sure.
“The Mojo Is Here” goes deep with a tougher edge, from the off you get locked on the groove as hypnotic rhythms take hold. Superb background FX play a big part in this track as the layers are built around it. The baseline is something to be desired as it meanders through the groove delivering quality results. In contrast to the deep vibes a melodic flute sends a brighter note to the sound, top stuff.
