Sublime deep bass and a well crafted arrangement are held together with a quite brilliant vocal sequence throughout the track, tight modulation and filtering add extra layers and textures, amazing.
Getting a bit more funky up in here with “Murmuring Hearts”, so cool, deep n funky tech vibe pours from this track. From the start you get locked into the groove, some nifty percs with sharp hats and claps build up the sound along with a smooth bass and classy vocal shots. Based in the UAE, Russian born artist Dimitry Liss graces the shores of Piston Recordings with his new cut “Downside Swindle EP” which is backed up with super remixes. Having signed a new exclusive deal with Bonzai, it’s clear that this guy has a lot offer and this EP is testament to that.
Kicking off with the original mix of “Into The Night”, a deep funky slice of pure house, excellent bassline with a very laidback groove and a very effective continuous organ synth hypnotises the mind, add into this a really cool vocal and you’ve got a track that will hold up in any club.
First up on remix duty is Portuguese deep house star Accatone aka Jose Reis with his remix of “Into The Night”. Jose is heavily involved with Piston along with the founder and close friend Rogerio Martins. The remix kicks off quite minimal but soon builds to an awesome house vibe with the great vocal from the original taking centre stage, deep basses and crisp sharp hats create a sweet groove which will make sure this has a lot of plays.
Pistons head honcho Rogerio Martins returns to the mixing desk after a brief hiatus to deliver the same quality production that keep his label at the forefront of the house scene. His remix of “Into The Night” really is an amazing insight into the deeper side of house. Soulful vibes kick off this remix and the vocal sweeps in and out with some very nifty FX work. Cool organ sound fills the arrangement with a grungy type bass coming in midway, really well crafted remix of the highest standard and sure to hitting the floors big time.
“Killa Dime” Cold Cut Mix is a sublime piece of deep house that really gets the toes tapping, surreal synths dominate with a very cool vocal over a laidback groove. Very impressive production from Dimitry and definitely taking deep house in a different direction.
Finally we have the delectable and funky “Midnight On Wax”, deep funky vibes take control, this tune builds up to a frenzy of awesome house organs and stabs, different vocal one shots from both male and female add a cool texture, late night parties will be queuing this up for a while.

Banshee Worx is proud to announce we signed a exclusive artist contract with Dimitry Liss (Eyepatch Recordings)
Dimitry was born in the culturally diverse eastern Russian port of Vladivostok where his father had introduced him to many musical styles. Dimitry draws on influences from the likes of Led Zeppelin as he feels this helps to shape his sound, he also listens to many contemporary artists including, Amon Tobin, Bonobo, Cuthead, Mount Kimbie, Jehst, Metronomy to name a few. Dimitry also feels that because he grew up in such a rich cultural environment that this also helps in his quest for sound.
Dimitry’s parents left Vladivostok when he was in 5th grade and moved to Tyumen due to work commitments, this was a big change for him as he lost many friends. It wasn’t until Dimitry moved to UAE that he found his musical forte, spending many months and years wandering the deserts searching his soul to define his musical style. This led to a few releases on small record labels, so small he can no longer even remember the name and by his own admission Dimitry believes these releases were far from what he wanted his music to be.
Tech House was the early style he enjoyed and Dimitry gained a partnership with Frisky Records in 2009 and became one of the few people in his area to be with a bigger label, this opened up the DJ route and lots of gigs around the Dubai area ensued. After a lot of creative differences with club promoters in Dubai and Dimitry being told what he can and can’t play, he decided to quit the DJ circuit and focus on production, although DJing would be an option for Dimitry on the European scene.
Today Dimitry’s passion lies in Deep House with a slight element of Tech House and with a compliment of releases on Progrezo and more recently Eyepatch Recordings, his music has featured on may compilations from the likes of Alex Dolby and Gare Mat K plus support from Hernan Cattaneo, Camea, Ellen Allien, Ricardo Villalobos, Loco Dice and more. Dimitry also features regularly on Bonzai Progressive’s own compilations.
Dimitry loves the Deep House genre and will always try to add a bit of his own vision.
His last release, Interstellar Frankie backed up with All That Jazz, is a testament to the diversity and innovation in his music and with the upcoming Captain Love on Eyepatch we are excited about what the future holds for this very talented artist.
The following is a quote from Dimitry and sums up beautifully his vision “I dont really like to call it “dance music” as it’s so much more, deep-house, tech-house and the combination of both is where my attention is centered on at the moment. We’ll see what the future brings, times change and so do we”.
Fresh from his last release on Eyepatch (Interstellar Frankie) Dubai resident Dimitry Liss delves back into the bowels of house for a round of deep fuelled goodness.
Captain Love is a perfect example of pure deep house production, heavy kicks, low end basses and that sweeping synth combined with a cool vocal really make for something special.
Can Get Witcha is a more minimal deep tech sounding vibe, crisper lighter feel to this tune with an almost tribal appeal, again vocals are very well added and tie the tune up nocely.
C’mon is a sublime tune that combines the deepness and the tech of the other tunes on this release, lots going on here all brought together beautifully in a hybrid groove, hypnotic stuff that will have many heads spinning.
Dubai’s finest Dimitry Liss for our 99th Bonzai Basik Beats!
