Chanelle returns to Eyepatch after her well received debut, “The Bass EP”. She continues to deliver her own unique style of deep-funky-tech vibes with her three track “Strange Fairytale EP”.
“Forever Young” is up first, full on dark, sublime funky tech grooves. Nice steady flowing rhythm with a superb bassline and some quirky synths all make for a very “strange fairytale” atmosphere indeed. Destined to be on a lot of playlists for sure.
Fresh grooves on “White Snow”, much brighter sound, again Chanelle is able to tell a story so well through music, the sounds created fit the name of the track brilliantly. Another stunning bassline sits back while a wonderfully crafted drum and percussion section keep the rhythm flowing. The big ear-catcher here is the FX and the simple yet highly effective synth work, just awesome!
“The Witch” delves back into the darkness with a heavy kick and bass combo. Very cool synth work again and the FX are pure genius. Very sinister element within the sounds build a cinematic feeling to the track, top quality stuff.

Not long after the popular “The Bass EP” on Eyepatch, we are delighted to welcome the talented Chanelle Pearl to the home of tech, Bonzai Basiks. Superb 4 tracker here with everything from deep tech house to funky tribal rhythms.
Kicking off we have the techno fuelled “No Guestlist Tonight”, quite bouncy to begin, with cool crisp hats, deep range on the bassline which gains momentum building into an awesome vibe. Real nice synths at work and a spoken vocal adds weight to the tune, top stuff.
“Teka Therapy” adds funk to the sound while retaining that ever present tech undertone, cool, upbeat and catchy sounds will have any floor grooving.
Coming into a solid tribal groove is “Konga”, super deep bass with hypnotic percs lead up to a wild ride on the bongos, tablas and all things slappy with big snare hits for good measure, top notch sound that will fill a lot of playlists.
Taking the tribal groove to new heights here on “Kuthumi”, heavy duty drums at play with a super tight arrangement, lots going on yet easy to pick out individual sounds, big big sound here that would rock any speaker system.
Funky tech house with soul is what Chanelle Pearl is all about. Born in Quebec, Canada, Chanelle has carved a respectable niche in electronica with her energetic vibes sometimes with an 80’s flavour. Influenced by the likes of Roger Sanchez and The Cube Boys, Chanelle’s ultimate goal is to have her own team of producers and her own record label. Fast becoming a big name on the Canadian dance circuit it won’t be long before she is global. Chanelle debuts on Eyepatch with a superb three track EP filled with her trademark sound.
First is “The Bass”, pure quality funky tech house, bouncy rhythm created by a well crafted drum and perc arrangement. Super funky riffs and a lot of brilliant samples including “turn up the bass” which always adds weight to any track, brilliant stuff and sure to be a big floor filler.
“Mike’s Dinner” kicks us off and straight away the tune is pumping, quite simple structure yet highly effective, super thick kicks and sharp percs provide a steady groove, nice cool bit of a soul flavour in the synths and a short vocal sample helps to deliver a top notch tune.
“Funky Musik” is exactly that, Funky! Deep deep basses accompanied by a more upbeat arrangement on the drums, highly infectious soulful and funky synths will keep the ears pricked up for the duration.
