Electric Bastards are production and DJing duo Jordan Drieghe and Curt Savage, based in Belgium these guys have lost their souls to music. They are devoted to house beats and like to experiment with different genres. For several years they have been active in the music scene with different projects and appearing on many labels including a remix on “Once Again” by Mindgamers. Today they make their full Bonzai debut with “High Pass” including a fabulous remix, enjoy!
The original mix kicks off in true tech style with sharp percussion and a low end thumping drum. The layers are slowly stacked up with a brilliant bassline holding things up well. Lots of FX give the track a lot of character with a real cool vocal sample rounding things off.
Zas and Zanse aka Mindgamers return the previous favour to Electric Bastards with a stunning remix of the highest quality. Building up a cool tech vibe from the off with a rhythmic drum and percussion mix, strong, solid grooves come through and the track takes off when the bassline kicks in. Big sytnh sweeps on the break give an air of prog n the sound but the true roots are in tech as the track kicks back in, these guys sure know how to work a remix!
Henrik is back with another round of his mellowed out progressive vibes on this two tracker “Days Go By”. His last release “Another Day At The Dream Factory” done very well with support coming from many corners and top download stores featuring it heavily.
The title track intros with a nice thud on the kick and a warm pad sweeping through, subtle keys come in and the percussion starts to build up a cool flow on the rhythm. The strings gain slightly in intensity and the bassline adds a bouncy touch with some very cool pianos filling in the background. On the break we get an almost trancey feel with the synth chords ramping up the groove, very nice indeed.
“XTC” takes us deep into progressive vibes with a journey through a myriad of lush sounds, lots going on here and a perfect example of Henrik’s technical ability to be able to marry all these sounds while keeping the structure on point. Deep prog bassline with many different melodic sequences blending beautifully over a tight drum and percussion section. Elements of both house and trance are evident yet still offering a unique style, very well crafted and a joy to listen to.
Fresh off the back of his last release “Groove Romance” Bulgarian producer Thomas Genchev returns with another cool progressive house slice which is backed up with two stunning remixes.
The original mix is a testament to house music at its most raw with progressive elements thrown in. Chunky pounding kicks and minimal percussion hold a solid rhythm while the throbbing deep bass gives us the progressive edge. Very cool house chords sit back and tease their way through the groove while a deep south vocal keeps the ear trained intently, top stuff!
Dutch tribalist and all round house junkie Thorin Van Gelderen steps up with a wonderful remix. Right from the off we get hooked into this tribal fuelled groove with huge amounts of house goodness. Superb bassline throughout adds an almost funky vibe and this is beefed up by the housey chords, a bouncing rhythms that will keep the floors shaking their thang all night.
Jakhira, who recently had his debut with Bonzai returns with a funked rework on the original. Fresh upbeat vibe from the start, subtle muted hats and percs keep the track on a perfect level heading. Midway through we get an amazing transformation into some pretty nifty funky chords and synths with the bassline adding a cool progressive contrast. Top notch remix here and a sure fire hit among many DJ’s.

Making his debut at BP we have Diamantopoulos Dionysis aka Concealed Truth with his prog house effort “Smooth Rain”. Diamantopoulos is a 24 year old producer from Heraklion, Crete, Greece. He has been meddling with music from a very young age and travelled through almost every genre of music available. At the age of 6 he started studying the classical guitar and 11 years later he got his B Upper Class degree, a very exciting talent indeed.
“Smooth Rain” takes us on a dark melancholic journey with emphasis on stunning melodic sequences. Deep hypnotic bass notes grab attention from the off while an understated kick and percussion holds the rhythm beautifully. A myriad of different instruments provide the melodies and an expert arrangement ties the track up brilliantly.
“Pink Slip” is a much brighter tune with sharper, crisp percussions and a contrasting deep bass. Again we see a lot of different instruments cover a multitude of melodies, lots going on and all marrying perfectly, very well constructed.
Talinn’s finest Zas & Sanze aka Mindgamers are back with more tripped out prog house vibes with their new track “Once Again” and it comes with a little help from friends Florian Meindl and Electric Bastards on remix duty.
The original is a proper Mindgamers track with crisp, sharp hats and rhythmic percussions over a tight kick. Brilliant piano chords take centre stage here and a truly deep throbbing bass will get any speaker (and ass) shaking. Well placed vocal sample repeats once again and on the break the piano ramps up a notch with super cool strings coming through, one hell of a build up gets us pounding back into the groove, top quality stuff!
First up for remix duties is Florian Meindl with his Shitakusa Remix. Berlin based producer, DJ and sound designer Florian is a hard working artist with many releases and remixes under his belt including on his own label Flash Recordings. With a passion for music he is busy with writing movie soundtracks and has completed his BA at the London College Of Music. Here he applies his skill in style, carving out a straight up prog house groover, nice chunky kicks are in contrast with subtle strings and some very nifty FX and synth work. On the break the bass is boss and the pianos provide for an awesome build up back into this superb flowing track.
Electric Bastards aka Jordan Drieghe and Curt Savage are a Belgium based duo who have lost their souls to music. They are devoted to House beats and like to experiment with genres as Deep, Tech and Progressive House. Here they provide us with a stunning remix which focuses around a brilliant deep bassline throughout. Lots of FX play a part here with tight percussion and drum arrangement creating a steady groove. Cool use of the vocal with brilliant filtering on the piano sample, quality stuff here and sure to be a firm favourite for a lot of jocks.
Mylan is back with some serious prog-tech house beats on “Doubt EP”, a super-charged three tracker filled with all the wonders of house.
First up is the title track “Doubt”, surreal, dark hypnotic beats and percussions carve out a cool rhythmic vibe with a tribal element. Some very nice synth and FX work really adds a new flavour to the sound, but the big focus remains on those percussive grooves. A dark and sinister vocal pops in from time to time and the overall darker theme is complete.
“Replace” is a superbly crafted experience in the frequencies of bass, heart throbbing basses pulsate throughout this track and give it a very distinct vibe. Also on offer here, apart from super cool vocal samples, is another brilliant percussion and drum arrangement with some very funky and cool housey chords keeping this groove ever flowing.
“Again” continues the overall theme of the EP with a darker edge and tech in mind, more low end basses that will have any sub speaker shaking and a real dense thud on the kick will get any floor moving to the beat. Top quality FX work blends in perfectly with sweeping pads and that tense vocal sample, top notch stuff!
