ALEXANDER DANCALESS – COFFEE MORNING (BONZAI ELEMENTAL)

[soundcloud id='59494190']

Russian producer Alexander Dancaless returns to Bonzai Elemental after his All The Time EP with this stunning Chill album, Coffee Morning, 15 tracks of bliss and soundscapes waiting to be relaxed to.

The title track sets us off into a journey of sublime chilled out vibes, heavy, deep pads arranged in a cool melody and a subtle drum section sets up the album perfectly.

Irreversibility is a nice emotional piano moment with sweet melody and a strangely distorted pad that fits so well, cool beats give a downtempo feel as well as relaxing the mind.

Nacreous Poison has a dark edge to it, deep drone pads and basses and an eerie melodic sequence with heavier beats, a masterpiece of soundscaping.

Next we have Ice, more uptempo beat with some very cool FX on the drums, again we are treated to very nice melodies.

Track number five is called Another, very smooth intro building up to a crescendo of pads and voice over an array of well arranged beats, now it’s really time to chill with this amazing track.

Frustration takes a more grizzly approach as can be heard through the percussions, eerie windswept pads create an intense atmosphere.

My Film Is A Drama unloads sweet sounds over a heavier kick drum arrangement, deep bass and very nice organ sound will end up soothing the night away.

Puzzless is a really laidback affair starting off with smooth synths which later become grainy and then morph into beautiful melody.

Lonely Smoke is another beauty with a well constructed drum arrangement and an arp that really sets the melody off, very nice relaxing sound.

Track ten is I Don’t Feel A Bottom, as the name suggests you get a sense of an eerie dark abyss, wonderful technique.

When I Sleep is one of those tunes that will surely make you drift off, really nice piano and synth combination.

Time Of Low Clouds takes the chill meter way down with a cool groove and outstanding sweeping synth pads on the melody.

Other Autumn keeps the chilled out vibe alive with very subtle chords and a perfect drum section, a nice melody comes sweeping by keeping you hooked on this gem.

Tomorrow is more of that same sweet subtle sounds, really cool synth work on this and again the beats fit snugly into the groove.

Finally on this outstanding album is Squeezer, heavier kicks and bass create a nice flow in the sound, cool FX work and a simple melody make this a fitting end.

Yet another top quality offering from Alexander and for Bonzai Elemental.

BONZAI PROGRESSIVE PODCAST – WEEK 26 – 2012

EPISODE 195: Aiemo – Sweet Peaches (Bonzai Progressive)

Second release for Unnamed in Eyepatch Recordings. The release comes with two outstanding originals, In Love and If.

The 28-year-old Danish/Italian artist is born and raised in Copenhagen, Denmark. Inspired by the pulsating, urban and unique atmosphere of Copenhagen, David Nicosia Longhi has produced and published under various pseudonyms such as Mazenga and Aiemo. Ranging from deep, minimal psytrance to chillout and melodic lounge music.
David himself describes the importance of inspiration gathered from the fast paced citylife: I love living in the city, there are endless inspirational options, ranging all the way from high-end fashion, cocktailbars, nightlife in general and even the modern oasis areas in Copenhagen, filled with peace and calm energy.I also like the anonymous feeling found in a big city. You could be surrounded by 100s of people and still feel like no one is seeing you. I generally get inspired from beautiful people around me and the desire to make and do something that touches the heart and thought of a human in combination with the electronically produced music. I want to keep living my daydream and my music reflects this.

Practical Inspiration has been gathered from both the trance/balearic scene throughout the 90s all the way to the downtempo and chilled lounge scene in modern time.

His first releases goes back to 2003 with Italian based label Inner-sound Records on the Perfect Evolution compilation and shortly thereafter another release follow with a Danish label. After several years of devoting his artistic abilities in literature he again turned his attention towards electronic music and the perpetual style of modern lounge.
The style from David Nicosia Longhi is now mainly focused on top quality lounge music, with his own deep devotion into a timeless and atmospheric production.

Born in Czech Republic in 1983.
I started to play vinyls in 2001 age 17.

Every beginning is hard but with patience and a lot of hard work I am now in the position of playing around the brightest clubs and venues in the Czech Republic

I was actively involved in a tour sponsored by Sony Ericsson that promoting a DJ school this way I was able to play on the most famous festivals happening in the Czech Republic (Hard House, Summer Of Love, Rock For People, Hip Hop Camp)

Ever since software solutions have made their entrance into every DJs Studio I also thought of making my own music seen the situation of the market where the demand for classic DJs is decreasing.

After some trial and error I finally landed the right track which got picked up by Eyepatch Recordings in 2011.

His passion is to combine different styles of music with his formidable mixing skills thriving to present the perfect set full of personality. Growing up in the mid-90s, the strongest musical influence on his life was Marek Bilinski a composer and multi-instrumentalist from Poland. Listening to the vibes of the electronic music scene Solartoff soon became part of it. Today Solartoff is read to sweep the dancefloor and surprise the people with his gorgeous sets without musical boundary.

He is always searching for the striking impulses in club music to turn the hours on the dancefloor into special and lasting moments. He loves to play long DJ-sets benefiting from ability to mix whatever music he pleases selecting with good taste and feel from a range of music.

Hi loves to switch styles from Deep House, to Tech House or else Funky House. And as long as the people keep moving on the dancefloor: Who cares? Solartoff does not because to him its about making people move. And whenever the crowd thinks he got his style he is already up for something else.

EPISODE 208: Lucio Grandi – Reelooper EP (Bonzai Basiks)

Lucio Grandi was born in Cali, Colombia on August 5, 1984, with Colombian, French and Italian roots.
His first contact with electronic music happens a the sweet age of 6 when Dance and House music hit the local radios. Intense happiness filled him listening to these tunes. Not long before he starts experimenting with recording tunes and making his own mixtapes.

Ten years later after learning how to mix properly on turn-tables he starts his carrier as a professional DJ playing Techno and listening to DJs like Marco Carola, Ben Sims, Cristian Varela, Jeff Mills, Samuel L Session. He filled his DJ-bag with the dark sounds of strong Techno.

But only 2 years later he finds himself tired of that sound and starts the search of his very own musical identity. DJs like Danny Tenaglia, Vibe, Victor Calderone, Carlos Manaca, Richie Santana convince him that Tribal is his call.

Still not satisfied he ends up to adapt House and Alternative Music into his sets and this turns out to be his true self. Influenced by names like Silicone Soul, Peace Division, Little Louie Vega, Armand Van Helden, Harry Romero, Alton Miller , Afrika Bambaataa gave him the needed diversification and shades in tones that this genre contains.

Actually, it is that variation, that diversification that House Music offers that marks his identity as a DJ because he can choose between one side or the other, achieving a more intense atmosphere in his sets.

He has played along with DJs like Franco de Mulero, Jose Viscaya, Malambo, Lexx, Chile, Chloe Harris of London and with David Guetta in 2009 after winning the first DJ contest of his hometown.

He has played in Mission Club, Cooseres, La Cantera, Joan of Arc, Central Valley Pacific events, private parties, etc.

Today he finds himself as a DJ and producer to be part of the infamous Bonzai label group. Convinced of their professionalism and way of working he finds his tracks released on Bonzai Basiks.

BONZAI PROGRESSIVE PODCAST – WEEK 16 – 2012

EPISODE 148: Eddie M – My Trip To The Sky EP (Bonzai Elemental)

Born in Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul, and now based in the capital of Santa Catarina, Florianopolis, DJ and producer Eddie M began playing professionally in 2007. With a background in musical instruments and a passion for electronic music, the work of Eddie quickly drew the attention at the scene of Porto Alegre (Rio Grande do Sul), one of the most traditional in Brazil.

After a long DJ career that took him to many places like Jimbaran, Madras, Cozumel and Cafe De La Musique he is now a resident of the 688 Club (Porto Alegre). Being very charismatic and with the great ability to identify the needs of the dance-floor crowd, it did not take long before Eddie broke the boundaries of his home state and moved on to new challenges. Clubs established in Brazil as the Green Valley and Santa Catarina Warung, the Pacha Sao Paulo and Rio Nuth were some of the locations where Eddie showed his ability. He also became a regular at major events such as Planeta Atlantida and Tribe as he was always very comfortable with large audiences. In addition, Eddie M has also performed at the famous Club Avalon Hollywood located in the United States and recently played the best New Year’s Eve in Punta del Este in Uruguay with Sharam and Miss Nine.

The innovative character of Eddie motivated him in 2009 to start producing. After a lot of commitment and devotion to learn how to produce music by himself, 2010 saw the birth of his first tracks. In less than a year Eddie has released five songs. The track “Rain From The Suite 902″ which was produced in partnership with Argentine BONG, stayed for several weeks on the list of 100 most downloaded songs of its kind on the Beatport site. In 2011 the track “Midnight Blue” and its remix by Miss Nine – both released by the label 925 Digital – were also well received and integrated into many DJ-sets and charts.

The only explanations for such a fast uprise of a newcomer are: Talent, determination and a relentless passion for great music. Eddie M combines them perfectly and with him the future of Brazilian electronic music is surely guarantied and in good hands.

Emmanuel Benami:

Born in 1983, Israel, and started producing music at the age of 10 (since 1993-today) making my first steps at the underground plant-traxxx website until I was ranked number 1 and discovered by German labels.
My first release was a remix for the G&M Project – Dreaming About Paprica 2003 – along with Dave Joy and 2 Players. Subsequent to my first release my first single vinyl was followed under the – Informers – alias signing the – The Dawn of Mankind- , which scored 5/5 at both DJ-Mag and IDJ-Mag and was supported by top DJs such as: Marcel Woods, Cosmic Gate, SHOKK, Mat Silver, Tony Burt, and many more.
After several more releases the alias Coldware was founded and got massive support to its first single – Fusion – from well known DJs (Marco V, Benjamin Bates, Above & Beyond, Johan Gielen and more). – Fusion – was followed by another great hit that was played in clubs all over the world getting support from Tiesto, Armin Van Buuren, Marcel Woods, Marco V., M.I.K.E and many more.

Throughout this time I have been spinning in the major clubs in Israel and abroad (including Dome, Ha Oman 17 Jerusalem, Zoom, the old Pacha Israel, Octopus, TLV, and others). I spin various styles; from House music to Tech-Trance, Electro and Breakbeats and I am always inspired by the crowed; thus I am always playing the music the crowed de- sires to hear. Currently I am playing in Hong Kong, mainly at Drop.
By the end of 2007 I have moved to Hong Kong and continued producing mainly under the Emmanuel B. alias.
Currently (2010), together with Janva and Natalie Hardoon, I have formed a new group named Junk Deluxe. We are in the process of working of a new EP and new singles to be released in the coming months.
In addition, all my tracks were highly exposed throughout major radio stations around the world including: BBC Radio 1, ID&T – Slam FM, D-I (Digitally Imported), ASOT – A State of Trance, and many more.

Janva:

Being an avid music devotee, Janva has been in the music and club industry since 1990 being the audio & visual manager and resident DJ at the notorious California Bar in Lan Kwai Fong, the center of nightlife in Hong Kong. Along the years, Janva has been performing with renowned artists; from Simply Red to performing together with Tiesto in Bangkok, Paul Oakenfold, Pete Tong, Boy George and Grace Jones live on stage for more than 10,000 people at the legendary Unity Party in Hong Kong, as well as appearing together with John Creamer at the Out of Space party at Club Yellow in Tokyo. Janva passion for moving the crowds was not confined to Hong Kong only. From Hong Kong to New York, London, Italy, Indonesia, China, Japan, Singapore, Taiwan, Korea, Thailand, Macau, Guam and many more were destinations Janva has been blasting the crowds with house, break beats, electro, and tech-house vibes. – Its not about the music style, its all about the people. I make them move –

Nevertheless, Janva enthusiasm for music did not stop there. Throughout the years Janva has been sponsored by numerous famous brands that kept on bringing him back to dance floor.

Janva has also shown to be a perfectionist when DJing. Throughout the years he had been highly ranked in the Superman DJ Battle in New York (sponsored by The Source Magazine), and was also the DMC mixing champion worldwide representing Hong Kong in the world finals in London. Janva also
produced and released a few EPs worldwide during these years.
In 2010 Janva has collaborated with Emmanuel B. (aka. Coldware/Emmanuel B./Informers) who has been signed, among other famous labels in Europe, on Armada records with Armin Van Buuren, and is known best for remixing Armin all-time classic anthem Communication. Emmanuel remix has been
the best selling version of this almighty track ever since. Together, Janva & Emmanuel had formed the group Junk Deluxe and since then have started producing and performing together.
