Alexey Lisin is back and this time around he enlists the vocal talents of Ann Di on the superb Gloss. Alexey’s last outing saw him utilise vocals from Ange on Vesna, and we have no doubt this new pairing will yield another great result.
The Original Mix sets out with deep, grooving house in mind as warm chords fade in and out alongside a cool shuffling hat patter. The stunning vocal from Ann glides in effortlessly and marries to the sound beautifully. The track gets into full swing as chunky kicks come through and tighten up the drum section perfectly. Those chords dominate right the way through the sound and are joined by cool glittering synths that cast brilliant textures. The bass sits back innocently while adding a great deal of depth to the groove and compliment the smooth vocals superbly. Top notch stuff that will surely get the floors moving.
Long Garden Avenue aka the hugely talented Manu Riga debuts on Bonzai Progressive with two very impressive remixes. Manu is currently one of Bonzai’s top deep progressive artists, but in 2005 he entered the scene through house music and slowly changed into a more progressive style. Over the last several months he has began to bring in more of his house music background with smooth melodies and emotional tracks coming through. 2015 is proving a big year for this guy and it is only going to get better from here. On the remix we get strapped into cool house grooves right from the get go as punchy kicks are joined by snappy snares and sharp claps. A smooth FM bass dances along the groove nicely while distinct house chords glide through. The track breaks with those chords fizzling in and out to the backdrop of Ann’s stunning vocal that fills the sound beautifully. A super tight drum arrangement keeps this rhythm in check and allows the musical side to flow effortlessly. Top notch stuff that puts Manu firmly back in the deep house game.
The Long Garden Avenue Dub Mix takes us deep into the groove with a pure musical journey with just the slightest hint of vocals popping up throughout. One for the late night trips for sure.
Abi-Q returns after a short hiatus to deliver a wonderfully deep, prog fuelled remix. We last saw Abi-Q back in February 2015 with the fantastic Boaka Chiringo which turned a few heads on the circuit, delighted to see him back once again. The remix gets right into prog mode as punchy kicks are met with sharp, crisp hats and a hypnotizing repeated vocal shot. A cool riser teases and leads us into a mixture of cool sounds and FX while in the background rich pads are forming up and creating a surreal atmosphere. The bassline soon follows and we find ourselves locked on for the duration. On the break we are hit with big stabby chords and glitchy sounds as fleeting synths leave a trail of progressive goodness. Superb stuff that will definitely grab attention.

Abi-Q returns to Bonzai after long hiatus with the superb three tracker Boaka Chiringo. It was back in 2012 when we last saw him with 12 as well as subsequent appearances on several of our compilations. Great to see him back and we hope to see much more from him in the future.
First up we get right into the deep progressive house grooves of Boaka Chiringo. The intro boasts a cool drum and percussion arrangement with a plucky bass fading through. Cool FX litter the sound and take us into the main track with nice punchy kicks and smooth percs alongside subtle hats and sharp claps. A lush, deep droning chord arrangement takes over the sound bringing a great depth to the groove. The FX and rising synths add wonderful textures with organic flavours throughout. A real nice and smooth trek into the deeper side of prog house, not to be missed.
Caribbean Romance intros with a cool rising chord and subtle tribalistic drum arrangements in the background as a punchy kick gets the feet tapping. A cool, flowing rhythm ensues with the help of tight percussions and shuffling hats. Sweeping pads ebb and flow throughout taking the sound deeper into a pure house groove. A warm plucked bass sits just under the sound perfectly allowing the mid range to flourish. Top notch stuff that is a definite must have for your collection.
These Dark Rhodes gets the remix treatment from Wonji aka Juan Gonzalez. Wonji was last seen around these shores on his 2012 release Convince Me on Eyepatch Recordings. Another artist we are delighted to see with the hope of more to come. The intro gets right up in your face with a full on groove filled to the brim with deep pulsing bass, chunky kicks and huge reverbed percussions. We settle into a smooth house ride as that bass becomes the main feature alongside some cool vocals that are scattered throughout. The break reveals a very cool surreal sequence that gives way to the bass which evolves into a 303 line before we get slammed back into the main groove for the duration. Superb deep grooves that will be a welcome addition in any set.

Fresh from their last outing “Liquid Disco Jam” on Green Martians “Mars Attacks Volume 2” this Barcelona based duo gives us a quality prog, tech house vibe over a two track release and backed up with an impressive remix on Bonzai Progressive.
The original mix of the title track “12” opens with an almost tech vibe but quickly switches to a banging prog monster, deep basses and plenty of awesome FX help to create a solid groove, on the break we are treated to some cool, eerie melodies and then back into that awesome groove, huge big floor appeal on this one.
Very popular and regular remixing duo Manu Riga provide a more darker edged house vibe with their “Manu Riga’s The Number Is 12 Remix”, quality beats with a tribal feel and a really cool bassline, great vocal used also. The break takes a melodic approach with some nice sounds and coming back in with a bouncier groove, very impressive remix indeed.
Finally we have “Weekend” which quit simply is an absolute joy to listen to, pure tech house driven progressive groove, from the thudding kicks to the crisp percs and chugging bass to the sweeping synths this tune is such a tight production, massive massive sound here and one to watch for sure.
