Long time Spanish DJ and producer Jonathan Calvo debuts on Basiks with a stunning tech house fuelled package. Jonathan has been a DJ for more than 20 years and recently he has used this extensive experience to enter the world of production. He has seen many releases since 2011 on labels like Ambiosphere Recordings, White Island Recordings, New Era Recordings and many more. Here he delivers two tracks backed up with quality remixes.

The Original Mix of “The Intstructor” is a powerful tech house stomper, heavy kicks are accompanied with a deep throbbing bassline and steady rhythmic percussions. The overall sound is quite minimal but packs a massive punch, throughout the track a cool vocal sample subtly delivers a narrative to the vibe, top stuff.
The Club Mix delivers more of the same tech vibes but with a deeper house twist due to the synth chords coming through, perfect for a deep set on any floor.

Argentina born Martin Lacroix is up on remix duty with a superb gritty take on “The Instructor”. Now residing in Barcelona this DJ and producer has seen releases on many labels over the years and currently DJ’s at top venues around Barcelona. The track intros with a sort of metallic feel as the synths punch out their groove. Tough beats are matched well with cool percussions and deep basses. The vocal is much more prominent here as it gets beefed up to become the main feature of the track.

Jonathan’s next track is “Sai Baba”, the intro puts us right into a solid groove with a thumping kick and crisp percussion combo. The tech vibes begin to flow when the super low end bass kicks in with a very subtle synth coming through in the background. A relentless and infectious groove ensues which would be a perfect addition to any set list.

Barcelona based production duo Endika & Sesk make up the project Krusound and here they deliver a superb tech filled house remix on “Sai Baba”. The intro gets the rhythm flowing early on and soon a deep throbbing bassline takes over the sound with cool synths and vocals adding to the dynamic vibe. Another fine addition to this pack and a must for the deeper floors out there.
