Ivan Shadrin aka Ego Progressus is back with this two tracker entitled ‘The Ink Of Night’. His last outing on Progrez ‘Dark Story’ was well received which is a tip of the hat to this fine producer.
First up is the title track ‘The Ink Of Night’, the intro is a simple punchy kick and crispy hat combination with a warm pad soon following. Cool FX start to come through before a grungy type synth leads us into the darker recesses of progressive house. A short break takes us into this realm further as the synths intensify and the percussions escalate. The bassline comes through as a construction of many sounds which has a huge impact overall giving an organic flavour to the vibe. Intense and amazing.
‘White Church’ sets off with a multitude of percs and FX over a cool kick, the percussions continue to build as a dark bass pokes through. The track takes on a very percussion focused drive that produces flowing rhythms with very cool sequences. Expertly crafted track indeed which ebbs closer to techno with a progressive edge.
