Reflexion

Bonzai Progressive BP3542014 28 April, 2014

Soft Knees aka Finnish duo Antti Mantysaari and Jarno Kilpia are back to BP with ‘Reflexion’. The guys’ last outing ‘Couchclocking’ gained support from many quarters and here we will no doubt be treated to more of the same.

The Original Mix sets off with a nicely tweaked kick with cool clip on the top, these beats set the scene beautifully and are soon followed by a bubbly bassline that controls the low end with ease. Sweeping synths make a show and become a big feature of the sound as they tease out a cool melody. The rhythms really let loose with the aid of some tight drum patterns while on the break things whittle down to just those sweepy synths and some stunning acid lines. Superb progressive house sounds that will do well on any floor.

The ever popular Kevin Vega steps up to remix duty first. Kevin is fresh off the back of his stunning ‘Andromeda’ which marked his return to BP after a short break. Here he pulls out all the stops once more to deliver s surreal slice of progressive goodness. The intro boasts a dominating percussion section alongside a nice and chunky kick, this sets up the groove perfectly as the rhythms slowly unwind at the start of this epic ride. Subtle pads begin to fade through and bring with them a hint of melody making you want more. The bass shatters into the sound and transforms the track so beautifully giving it that real progressive edge. A story is to be told in the ever evolving melodies and that makes this track a truly awesome listening experience, top notch yet again!

UK based Cordoba aka Lloyd Trimmer gives us his remix and what a job this guy does yet again. Lloyd’s latest track ‘Surface’ has been performing extremely well on the circuit and on download portals, this is a testament to the quality on offer from a talented producer. Here the remix intros with a full on progressive flavour, chunky kicks and crispy hats provide a solid platform for hypnotic synths and a superb rolling bassline which becomes infectious after just a short time. The break focuses on stabby synths with the bass rising up from the depths to take us back into this absolutely stunning slice, a must for any box!

Smok debuts on Bonzai Progressive with his remix and what an impression he makes. The track intros with a cool deep flavour as chunky kicks pump out a lush groove. Smooth deep synth stabs are the perfect companion for the plucky bass, the bass itself is a real groovy affair which will have you on the dancefloor pronto! Tight drum arrangements provide for a solid and steady rhythmic feel and on the break this continues with some nice percussion alongside a cool funky element. Top stuff for this guys debut and a must for those groovier progressive sets.
