Parallel Crosspoint

Green Martian GM2014230 8 September, 2014

Russian producer Alex Philipp debuts on our Green Martian imprint with the sublime three tracker Parallel Crosspoint. Alex loves blending grungy atmospheres from the nineties with psychedelic sounds from the sixties, all wrapped up in techno flavours. He has seen a very impressive list of releases on various labels since 2013 and we have no doubt we will be seeing much more from this outstanding talent.

Parallel Crosspoint is up first with its glitchy organic vibes. The intro eases in with a soft pad alongside a nice punchy kick as various percussions get the rhythm flowing. Blippy FX and raw analogue sounds provide wonderful textures as pulsing bass drives the track forward. A multitude of FX draws lots of focus here and the expertly crafted arrangement keeps the vibe groove intact. Sublime slice of deep techy progressive house that will be a welcome addition in many sets.

Steady movement sets of with a smooth uplifting pad as blippy FX fill the spectrum. A superb bright arp weaves in and out as the filters tear out harder edged segments. Subtle kicks and a flowing rhythmic structure round off the intro as the track crashes into the main groove with a fantastic acid styled bassline. The break offers up cool chords that give stark contrasts to the sound resulting in a strong hypnotic groove. Superb stuff and not to be missed.

Tired Of News sets off with a crashing FX that leads to a grungy bass that resonates through the speakers menacingly. Big phat kicks join in as the percussions begin to form up to the backdrop of rolling, melodic arps and subtle chords. Intensity builds leading up to the break where a smooth melodic sequence plays out before easing back to the main groove for the duration. Top notch progressive and a must for any late night set.
