Out Of This Life

Bonzai Progressive BP4902015 5 October, 2015

Blufeld is back with another cut entitled Out Of This Life which is from his forthcoming (imminent) 4th studio album A World Less Ordinary. A very exciting time ahead for this guy and he doesn’t seem to be letting up. With the album scheduled for the end of September 2015, this new cut is the perfect insight as to what you can expect, we’ve already seen A World Less Ordinary and Threlkeld which performed very well indeed. Always worth keeping an eye out for this guy as he never disappoints. Out Of This Life comes backed up with 3 superb remixes.

The Original Mix of Out Of This Life straddles the prog house-trance borderline with a slight leaning towards trance. We are faced with an expertly crafted construction filled with driving beats and fantastic synth play. The bass line is where it’s at here though, a multi layered approach ensures an energetic ride which bonds perfectly with the sweeping pads and strings on the higher end. Cool melodies float across the sound and bring home that euphoric touch with a hypnotic edge. A tasty Autumn treat for us all.

First up on remix duty we have Audio Noir with his Rekonstruction, all the way from down under. This guy has become a very much recognisable force on the scene, but he shrouds himself in mystery by not revealing his identity. He has however given a few interviews which can be found online, these rare glimpses give an insight into the man behind the music, but not the face in front of the man so don’t be disappointed there is no big reveal, anyway, to the music. The remix intros with a cool percussive driven arrangement that is soon joined by a nice punchy kick and some tight drums to get the rhythm flowing. Sweet melodic synths etch out cool patterns that provide a colourful sound. A deep, relentlessly probing bass line follows and takes over the sound beautifully which gives some cool contrasting textures. The break reveals a superb vocal that comes as a pleasant surprise full of retro flavour. The track gets back into full swing with a tough, gritty bass sound joining the party. Top notch stuff yet again that is not to be missed.

Platunoff aka Russian DJ and producer Igor Platunoff shows up on remix duty and takes us deep into the progressive abyss. While this will be his first outing on a single release for Bonzai Progressive, he did make an appearance on Club Traxx Breaks 3 back in May 2015 with no less than three tracks including his own, From Chelyabinsk To Moscow as well as two top notch remixes. Here he takes us on a sublime journey that starts out with a cool drums and percussion intro that soon gets a boost from a nice chunky kick. Bright synth shots add a smooth melodic flavour to the sound as a contrastingly deep throbbing bass takes us into the depths. Crystal clear synth riffs light up the sound as the lower end gains intensity and takes us to the break where the bass is king before we get right back into full on mode. Brilliant stuff from this guy and a must have track.

The impressive Ruslan Vashkevich delivers his super solid mix that delves deep into progressive house. His last outing for Bonzai Progressive, Thought The Smoke gained a lot of attention and featured heavily on top portals and sets. With fou
