Progrez PRG2014106 18 August, 2014

Metronomes are back at Progrez with their fantastic three tracker entitled Madam Butterfly. The guys have been busy since their last offering with a spot on Bonzai Basik Beats and a superb remix on Steve Sai’s Stardust. Here they dig out their best progressive skills once again for a brilliant ride on the progressive highway.

First up we have Madam Butterfly which sets us off with a pulsing bass alongside cool percussive elements before a punchy kick comes slamming in to get the groove into full swing. The bass delivers a deep grooving vibe and is contrasted beautifully with sweet piano licks. The break offers a little respite before the track really gets going on its sublime journey. Various basses combine perfectly and are joined by some mesmerizing synths throughout. Expertly arranged and in your face progressive house that will be a feature on many sets for sure, not to be missed.

Fantasma intros with a droning bass sound alongside crispy hats and is soon joined by a nice and punchy kick. A sub bass begins to bubble up from to the backdrop of some quality FX work which provides lots of beautiful textures. A dark atmosphere is formed as the layers build resulting in a deep progressively charged groove that will work brilliantly in the darker rooms no doubt.

Dead Tourist begins life with a series of sinister sounding FX and cool percussions. Deep resonating basses add the perfect platform for the track to evolve as they transform into a rolling line injecting energy. Very cool scattered synths provide smooth textures and on the break these become more prominent. The main break is a masterclass in bass structure as various levels of low end drones and pulses merge into a superb sequence. Brilliant stuff from the guys and most definitely not to be missed.
