Disquiet EP

Monog Records MNG043 27 October, 2014

Croatian producer Kruno Kereta debuts on Monog with the sublime Disquiet EP and comes complete with a superb remix from Alan Castro.

The Original Mix oozes deep minimal techno grooves as tough break beats dish out head nodding rhythms alongside some very cool percussions that become the mainstay of the track. A simple yet highly effective bass sits just behind the kicks beautifully as shuffling hats drive the rhythms. A series of synth sequences fade up from nowhere and keep with the minimal groove resulting in a proper deep techno experience.

Argentinean DJ and producer Alan Castro returns to Monog on remix duty, we last saw Alan with his Metodology EP back in 2013 which also got appearances on compilations through Eyepacth Recordings and Bonzai Progressive. Here he beefs up the original with big punchy kicks in a breaks pattern and a super tight drum and percussion arrangement which keeps with the minimal feel of the sound. Eerie sounding synth licks and pads combine brilliantly with a series of metallic FX which marries perfectly with the vibe. The beats transform into a full on 4×4 rhythm at the midway point and this beast of a track really takes off. A truly epic experience you will not want to miss.

Stratus rounds up this EP and gets right into the heart of deep minimal techno sounds with thumping break beats and a pure, raw bass. Rhythmic patterns flow effortlessly with the addition of spacey hats and percussions. A fantastic arp sequence brings with it a hypnotic flow that filters wonderfully to become the dominant force of the groove. Top notch stuff that will surely get attention within the techno fraternity.
