Abi-Q returns to Bonzai after long hiatus with the superb three tracker Boaka Chiringo. It was back in 2012 when we last saw him with 12 as well as subsequent appearances on several of our compilations. Great to see him back and we hope to see much more from him in the future.

First up we get right into the deep progressive house grooves of Boaka Chiringo. The intro boasts a cool drum and percussion arrangement with a plucky bass fading through. Cool FX litter the sound and take us into the main track with nice punchy kicks and smooth percs alongside subtle hats and sharp claps. A lush, deep droning chord arrangement takes over the sound bringing a great depth to the groove. The FX and rising synths add wonderful textures with organic flavours throughout. A real nice and smooth trek into the deeper side of prog house, not to be missed.

Caribbean Romance intros with a cool rising chord and subtle tribalistic drum arrangements in the background as a punchy kick gets the feet tapping. A cool, flowing rhythm ensues with the help of tight percussions and shuffling hats. Sweeping pads ebb and flow throughout taking the sound deeper into a pure house groove. A warm plucked bass sits just under the sound perfectly allowing the mid range to flourish. Top notch stuff that is a definite must have for your collection.

These Dark Rhodes gets the remix treatment from Wonji aka Juan Gonzalez. Wonji was last seen around these shores on his 2012 release Convince Me on Eyepatch Recordings. Another artist we are delighted to see with the hope of more to come. The intro gets right up in your face with a full on groove filled to the brim with deep pulsing bass, chunky kicks and huge reverbed percussions. We settle into a smooth house ride as that bass becomes the main feature alongside some cool vocals that are scattered throughout. The break reveals a very cool surreal sequence that gives way to the bass which evolves into a 303 line before we get slammed back into the main groove for the duration. Superb deep grooves that will be a welcome addition in any set.
