Belgian DJ and producer Quincy aka Quincy Steveninck returns with the sublime Acid Jungle and is backed up with three top notch remixes from Bonzai’s elite roster. His last track In Balance was heavily featured on many top download sits and saw rave reviews from many quarters. Quincy himself started producing after a long stint as club and event promoter for various venues around Belgium. His Age Of Love gig ran for more than 6 years and is still regarded as a major success among Belgium’s seasoned clubbers. Quincy is a vinyl only DJ and has graced the decks at many parties, he also enjoyed top releases as part of Soul Phonic on Punk’ID Records.

The Original Mix gets the party started with nice chunky kick and percussive led intro that builds into a cool steady groove. A deep plucky bass is unleashed alongside a wavering synth that roams throughout the sound beautifully. We start to get a bit of an acid line creeping through and on the break this becomes more pronounced and is joined by a chorus of synth arps before getting right back into full swing as this deep, hypnotic track enters its final run.

The hugely impressive Manu Riga is back to remix duties with his Deacidified Remix. Manu delivered his usual brand of quality progressive on the re-released remix pack of Transfagarasan Highway by Audio Noir and no doubt we will see much more from this highly talented artist. Here the remix kicks off with an immersive progressive vibe as chunky kicks are lined up against a cool flowing bass with a subtle percussion arrangement coming through. Wafting synth pads create a sublime atmosphere as the bass ramps itself up a gear and transforms into a powerful resonating monster. Melodic sequences find their way through the maelstrom of basses giving the track a stark contrast and keeping you hooked right to the last beat.

Belgian Nice Therapy is next up to the remix desk with his 6AM-On-Acid Remix. We last saw Nice Therapy on Frankie Jones’ Belgium Goes Detroit on Bonzai Basiks and we are sure to be in for a real treat here. The remix intros with smooth kick and offset bass with crispy clear hats soon joining in. A rising synth pad gains momentum and is accompanied by the first inklings of an acid line which becomes a big focus on the track. Plucky FX deliver some cool distractions and these soon combine to form their own melodic sequence. The break is where it’s at as melodies come together in a strangely uplifting way while acid blips go off all around. A perfectly timed climax brings the track back into a full on progressive groove. Lots going on here and a joy to listen to as new patterns are found with each listen.

Top Bonzai artist Audio Noir lends his skills on remix duties with his Oldskool Remix. Saying that this guys is on fire at the moment is an understatement. His soon to be released Rewind EP shows us how the oldskool era can be applied with modern technology and this remix is also testament to that. Solid intro as tightly arranged percussions lead us into the mother of all kicks, an instantly recognisable kick that was the basis of so many classics. The track moves into gear at the first very short break where a super cool classic vocal sample leads us to the superb bassline that just pulsates right through the track. A very cool acid line takes the track to the next level and beyond and on the break this is where it really shines. This track has it all, it pays tribute to fantastic era and it does it with so much respect, this is no doubt one of the tracks you have got to have, raise the roof time is here!
