Bulgarian DJ and producer Pavlin Petrov debuts on Bonzai Progressive with the sublime Feeling Alive which features the sultry and exotic vocals of Selina Stoane. Pavlin grew up listening to Jean Michelle Jarre, Vangelis and Enigma among other electronic greats. In 2005 he started to produce and was heavily influenced by the ambient sounds. In 2010 he became hooked on progressive house and since then he has infused his prog sounds with wonderful ambient atmospheres while experimenting with new sounds. Over the years he has racked up quite an impressive back catalogue across many labels including Mystic Carousel Records, Revelation Records, DeeperSense Music and Beat Block Records to name just a few. He has worked with a host of top artists and is a much sought after remix artist. Delighted to have him on board and we hope to see much more in the future, well worth keeping an eye on.

The Original Mix intros with punchy kicks that are licked with a dose of bass giving them an extra boost. Percussions build slowly alongside a fantastic drum arrangement that just sits perfectly at the back dishing out a flowing rhythm that melts into the sound. The vocals add a rich and vibrant texture to the sound as the sultry voice of Selina Stoane blends into the progressive groove effortlessly. Beautifully high pitched pianos provide a cool contrast as we are taken on a superb journey through prog house and beyond. Top notch stuff.

Manu Riga, a man who needs no introduction really, steps up to remix duty and delivers a surprise for us all with his From Hell Remix. With over 40 remixes for Bonzai Progressive and no less than 16 full releases, this guy has firmly cemented himself as one of Bonzai’s top artists. He is a relentless work-horse who never lets up and always delivers the goods with quality in mind, he is currently working on his new album which is due for 2016, something we are eagerly awaiting. Catch him in the mix on Escape which airs on the 2nd Saturday of each month and Ethnoscience, alongside studio and DJ partner Matt Holliday, which airs on the 1st Saturday of each month, both on Progressive Beats radio. As the title of the remix suggests, Manu takes us deep into progressive, so deep we get lost in the progressive abyss. Right from the get go we embark on this dark journey as solid beats accompany a haunting voice. The tight drum arrangement sets up a smooth rhythmic flow to the sound and allows the track to drive with the bass at the helm. The bass line is a huge player here as it bubbles up from below employing a tough exterior which contrasts beautifully with the voices. The break delivers the killer blow as those voices dominate and then fade away leaving cool sweeping pads and that awesome bass to clean up. A different side to Manu that will definitely get a lot of playtime for sure.

Experimental Feelings aka Spanish DJ and producer Toni Gonzalez debuts on Bonzai Progressive with his superb remix. He has been around recently on our Afterhour Trax 17 compilation on Green Martian and will soon make his full debut with an upcoming release later this year. Since 2010 he has released a hugely impressive back catalogue across a multitude of labels including Liquitech Recordings, OLD SQL Recordings, MorningGlory Music and many more. He mainly focuses on progressive but likes to delve into Techno and Deep House also. Here he delivers a solid progressive workout filled with some stunning drum arrangements that will definitely get the floors moving. Punchy kicks lead the way alongside rhythmic percussions and a myriad of slapped drums. A relentless probing bass lurks throughout and blends nicely with the sweet melodic piano riffs that litter the groove. The vocals play a big part here and work well with the drums making this a definite must have track for sure.
