On fire Australian DJ and producer Audio Noir is back again with another of his top notch creations with Brooklyn Xpress. Audio Noir is one of those producers that always delivers, he has an insight into where sounds originated and has the ability to transfer that sound with today’s technology. This skill is evident in all he produces, most notably with his last two incarnations R3WIND and Pressure. Brooklyn Xpress comes with three superb remixes making up this stunning slice of prog.
The Original Mix intros with a round of cool percussions and a hypnotic delayed bass note, these are soon joined by a nice chunky kick which gets us into full swing. Sublime synths weave in and out of the sound and give off a true progressive house vibe. The first break reveals the stunning bassline that just seems to materialise out of nowhere and adds a driving force to the sound. Cool FX fill the spaces and we are on our way into a world full of deep and dark grooves. The main break lets loose with surreal pads accompanied by a luscious vox and eases us back into the main track for the duration. Top quality yet again and not to be missed.
In-demand producer and remix artist Steve Sai is up first on remix duties with his superb take on the original. Steve has a knack of always pushing out quality cuts of his own and remixes alike. His sounds are featured regularly in many sets and download portals. With a new single on the way very soon we are always delighted to see his work come through the office. The remix intros with a huge chunky kick that will get any floor on the move. Subtle percussions provide a smooth rhythmic feel and short synth stabs build the layers up nicely. The track bursts right into full swing as the fantastic offset bass takes full control of the sound perfectly. Cool FX and one shot hits are evident through and add textures within the layers. Surreal atmospherics come through on the break as the bass continues to reign before slamming right back into the groove, superb stuff from Steve.
Alex Vidal returns to Bonzai Progressive after his debut, Solar Citadel was very well received indeed. No stranger to deep progressive vibes Alex has a keen eye for marrying sounds with ease. Here he sets out on a truly awesome journey as nice, well rounded kicks are contrasted with sweeping melodic pads that seem to float just above the arrangement beautifully. The track settles in as a fantastic deep bass bubbles up from below and dominates for the duration. The break gets groovy with those pads working wonders alongside a gated synth and a superb vocal before coursing effortlessly back to the main groove. Excellent stuff and a definite must have.
Deuzler is up next for remix duty and transforms the original brilliantly. He is an admirer of electronic music who has been around for many years in the Mexican scene, nine years as DJ and three years as a producer. He recently made his Bonzai debut with the stunning Go Toward The Light. Here he sets the remix off with a punchy kick and tight percussion arrangement. A groovy analog bass pulsates through the sound as it hits the offset notes creating a bouncy groove. Cool arps weave in and out of the sound and sit perfectly with metallic styled FX. A wispy pad meanders through on the break and the bass note change adds a new perspective. Classy stuff and a must for any set no doubt.
Airwave and DJ Fire join forces once again to deliver another stunning deep progressive monster entitled Without Roots which comes backed up with four superb remixes. The guys have work well together in the past with their hugely successful Fire and Ice project, and more recently with cool cuts such as Kabalash.
First up we have the original mix that starts life with a nice chunky kick and subtle percussions. A deep rooted pad begins to fade through as the percussion arrangements become more prominent. As the track progresses we are drawn into a darkly atmospheric space that consumes your mind beautifully. Distant ethnic sounds further enhance the deep progressive vibes and add a surreal element. Deep basses bubble up from deep within the groove as soft melodic phrases break through and we are left with a stunningly epic track that will prove a hit in many sets for sure. Not to be missed.
Relaunch is first up with his brilliant remix. Big and bold intro as monster kicks take full control from the off to the backdrop of tight percussions and a hypnotic synth loop. Dancey drum patterns soon follow and lead us up to a fantastic Psy styled riff that really sets the track off. The bass sits perfectly under the track and adds its own pulsating rhythms to the sound. The break is an out of this world moment that delivers a beautiful euphoric vibe as melodies are forged out of a wonderful string and pad arrangement. We are then thrust back into this tough edged workout for the duration, absolute top quality yet again from Maik.
Kevin Vega is back on remix duty and as he normally tends to do he has raised the bar again with this remarkable journey through the progressive spectrum. The intro eases in with a beautiful atmospheric soundscape filled with lush tones and subtle melodic flavours. Distant percussions lead up to a fantastic pulsing bass which is soon joined by a smooth kick and the track flows magically. Intensity breeds at every turn and soon you will find yourself locked into a stunning hypnotic groove. A truly epic ride that will appeal to many, a must have.
On fire producer Audio Noir is up next with his remix that stuns with its wonderful complexities. Beautifully tweaked sound designs light up the spectrum with warm pads, cascading arps and a haunting chorus. These sound blend perfectly into an epic intro that builds to a stomping rolling kick climax. Big chunky kicks take over alongside a brilliant bassline that just oozes acid flavour. The track holds a steady flowing rhythm and takes us to the break where we are given respite in a serene setting with fluctuating melodies before we are slammed right back with the help of a massive build up. No more words, just listen, you will not be disappointed.
Audio Noir offers up his Zen Mix which encapsulates the ambient side of his Odyssey. All the mesmeric and haunting qualities are gathered together to captivate us into a surreal progressive driven utopia.
