Oraa & Ekai make their duo debut on Piston the superb two track Hot Like 95 Fahrenheit. Great to see Oraa return to Piston after his last release a few years back with That Go EP which was very well received indeed. Since then he has released on several labels and added his skills on remix duty for various artists. Ekai is a lover of house in all its forms and while he may seem relatively new to the scene he brings a fresh sounding quality to house music and he lists some of the greats of house as his influence such as Masters At Work, MK and Green Velvet. An exciting future for this Spanish duo as their music will attest, we’re looking forward to more in the future.

Hot Like 95 Fahrenheit intros with a classic styled kick and hat combi that always gets the appetite whet. Cool vocals creep into the sound early on and give us a glimpse of things to come. A superb pounding, throbbing bass takes full control of the sound as it bounces through the groove while those MC style vocals do their thing. Super tight drums bring a solid rhythm and keep the dancing feet moving easily. All throughout the track we get shook to the core by that brilliant bassline which really holds the track up beautifully. Get this on your playlist, you will not be disappointed.

Sun Won’t Shine Forever gets going with a powerful kick that hits you right in the chest and is joined by some crispy distorted open hats. Cool siren FX fill out the background as cool analog sounds bounce along the groove. A deep rooted bass lurks at the low end and allows the mid range sounds to flourish. Sinister sounding vocals sound off throughout and provide a dark narrative as much softer voices filter through. Cool dark sounds for the late night sessions, superb stuff.
