Ischia (Naples) native Onofrio Conte debuts on Basiks with a thumping deep tech driven monster of an EP. Onofrio was born on a small island in the Gulf Of Naples and has always been fascinated by music and listens to all kinds of genres including Classical, Hip Hop, House, 90’s dance and Italian Pop. He has been influenced by the likes of Carl Cox, Danny Tenaglia, Sandy Rivera and others and continues to draw inspiration from these peers. With releases on the likes of Passion Recordings and Gam Recordings we are sure to see a lot more from this guy in the future.

Kicking us off is the title track “What Da Hell”, pure tech house driven vibes abound here with a fresh upbeat rhythm section topped off with cool tabla action. This track builds well and just after the break we get down and funky with a classic synth stab and a nice short vocal shot that ties everything up beautifully.

“Feel The Funk” has more of that well honed drums section and this gives an upbeat naturally bouncy rhythm. Cool sampled sax loops around and a true funky vibe comes through while retaining the tech element, big party sound here and one that will be on a lot of playlists for sure.
