Onofrio is back with his latest techno monster, ‘Oblivious EP’. The EP comes with two tracks and is backed up with two remixes as well as the originals. Onofrio keeps very busy indeed on the studio front. 2013 saw a lot of quality original and remix works, his last offering saw a remix for Tribal Warriors on ‘New York To Ibiza’. Watch this space in 2014 as we are sure to see more from this guy.
The Original Mix of ‘Oblivious’ intros with a killer bass drum and soft hat combo, cool percussions sit behind and ease their way into the sound. The bassline rumbles along creating hypnotic rhythms and is the perfect sound for this very minimal track. An ideal track for those darker late night techno fests!
Italian producer Giorgio Quaranta aka Gforty steps up to remix duties with his Gforty Japanese Mix on ‘Oblivious’. Right from the off we are thrust into a full on techno ride. Big thumpy kicks and crispy hats get things moving as the bassline begins to surface alongside a well crafted synth line. On the break we get a few surprise note changes on the synth which makes for a really cool listening experience. Top notch stuff yet again and a must for any playlist.
Onofrio’s next rack on this EP is ‘Wrong Way’. His Original Mix takes the techno vibes deeper, powerful droning bass accompanies a punchy kick as ass shaking percussions begin to form. The track has a minimal groove yet has a lot going on to keep the ears trained. Excellent stuff here and no doubt will gain a lot of attention.
Gabriel Ben provides us with his remix on ‘Wrong Way’. Gabriel is fresh off the back of his last SRUR release alongside Ed Whitty with their release ‘Epoch’. Here the goods are firmly delivered yet again, fast paced and energetic techno is on offer as the drum section will testify. Strong and solid grooves are built with ease, cool percussive elements add texture while a deep and resonating bassline shores up the sound. At the break some real cool synths come to the party and sets this track off beautifully. Top quality stuff that will fill a lot of floors.
