Melbourne based Narel aka Nick Simmons marks his debut on LCD with a stunning slice of trance goodness with “The Machines Were Dreaming” and backed up with a remix from the master himself, Airwave. Nick is a veteran on the EDM scene with releases on some classic labels and remixing for top artists over many years and with projects like this we are sure to see a lot more in the future.

The original mix gets things started with a nice thumpy bass over some beautiful sweeping pads and melodic synth. A steady solid groove builds with a bit more punch on the kicks and a strong deep bass giving lots of depth. On the main break a whole world of melodies explodes with some jaw dropping synth work, this gives an uplifting feel and will have any floor moving, this is something special!

On remix duties is none other than Airwave, quite simply, a legend. Here he applies his skills in style as he always does. Nice and smooth intro on the pads and then straight into a full on kick that builds to a superb grooving bassline. Expertly crafted percussions give off a flowing rhythm with strings adding layers and then on to a stunning break where we see melodies applied brilliantly in a huge cinematic setting. Once again Laurent shows us his true scope in creating a full on trance experience.

A little extra from Narel with an Ambient mix, all the melodies from the original given to us for total relaxation purposes and what a great job it does, wonderful!
