Tallinn’s finest are back with their long awaited follow up to The Crown with You Know Why on Bonzai Progressive. November 2013 was their last full release but they have been very busy indeed with remix duties for Phi Phi & Airwave, Ecco, Cordoba and Matan Caspi. The original gets a rework from four of Bonzai’s top remixers to satisfy our progressive addictions.
The Original Mix intros with a cool round of percussions before a nice punchy kick joins the fun as vocal samples come through. A deep and laidback bass provides the perfect platform for the progressive house vibes to flourish here and are matched beautifully with a flowing rhythmic percussion section. Cool housey stabs come through as a more progressive inspired synth makes the rounds. The break reveals a bright melodic string that adds lush tones to the vibe. Top notch effort yet again from Zas and Sanze.
Top Bonzai artist Nico Parisi is up first to remix and what a fine job he does yet again. Nico as usual remains a very busy guy in the studio and on the road gigging. His latest remix for Matan Caspi has been performing very well indeed and his newest track Napoli By Night will no doubt follow suit. Here Nico turns up the progressive dial a few notches with a nice deep grooving track. The original elements are well represented with the bass walking along beautifully as big chunky kicks dominate the sound. The vocal samples come through perfectly and add to the darker tones. On the break we see wonderful contrasts as the strings pitch above the deeper vibe resulting in a must have cut for those late night sessions.
Crocy is next up for his remix and again we see top quality delivery for a top quality artist. Recently we were treated to his own latest cut, a reworking of Recht, as well as remixes for Nico Parisi and Steve Sai. The remix here intros with a nice and bright crispy hat and sharp clap combi with vocal samples coming in. The punchy kicks give way to a brilliantly crafted bassline that filters into a superb grooving house vibe as the synths dish out their subtle melodies. A super tight arrangement with a huge dancefloor appeal that will no doubt feature among many.
Jakhira delivers a top notch remix as you’d expect with his trademark house elements shining through beautifully. Right from the off you know you’re in for a good time as crispy percussions form up a solid rhythmic base. Well rounded, punchy kicks are joined by a groovy chord riff that will get the dancing feet moving easily. A cool plucky bassline keeps the groove flowing brilliantly as the layers continue to build with the addition of classy synth stabs. The break unleashes a fantastic deep bass pad as the synths continue their journey with the addition of some funky keys to shake things up a bit. Superb stuff from this Jakhira as always and no doubt this will feature heavily in many sets.
Rion Oidua rounds off this stunning remix pack with his own stunning cut. Since October 2013 Rion has featured on many remix rosters across various labels within the Bonzai realm, and each time he always surpasses expectations with quality work. This time around we see his progressive traits shine through as the track intros with a classic kick and hat combi that will always get feet moving. A deep and moody synth is joined by cool vocal samples and leads us up to a fantastic stand out plucked bass that just sits perfectly in the track. Cool house vibes come off the synths and pad chords as a smooth string melody eases in. The break lets loose with big stabby synth chords that take the track on a bit of an oldskool tangent with stunning results before settling back into this solid progressive house groove. A definite must have.
