MetrONomes are a progressive DJing and production duo by Jon ManimaL & Magros who have been regular contributors to our Progrez imprint. The guys always deliver the goods and this three tracker entitled ‘Roll & Rock’ is no exception.
‘Roll & Rock’ intros with a deep growl and a big chunky kick accompanied by some very cool percussion elements. Growling basses continue to rise up as a deep and dark vocal sample comes through. The track lets loose a funky bassline that gives the sound a huge character and is joined by lots of warping effects later on. A full on progressive groove with a cool twist that will not disappoint!
‘The Dark Age Is’ rattles home a monster bass that will shudder any floor as it pounds away alongside a chunky kick and rhythmic percussion arrangement. The kicks and bass filter down lulling you in before that huge bass slams back right in your face. An array of cool FX create flowing textures throughout and on the break darker elements come out of the shadows before heading right back into the main track. A surreal experience is created with softly rising pads that adds a new dimension, powerful stuff!
‘Soulfood’ intros with a pulsating bass and comes married with really cool FX which blend well and give an edgy texture. The bass is a big feature and will set floors alight all over. Nice chunky kicks and shuffling percussions give a cool rhythmic vibe to the sound. Strangely eerie synths pop out of the woodwork and pave the way for a soulful vocal that sweeps across the groove. Beautiful sweeping pads come through and give an epic feel to this prog stomper.
