Mars Attacks returns with Volume 6 packed with progressive goodness from four top class artists.

First up is DJK aka Kevin Miller with “Trust In Me”. This is Kevin’s third time appearing on Mars Attacks which is a testament to the awesome talent from this UK based producer. This track intros with a solid kick and hat combi, a subtle bassline fades in as the track builds. The track takes on a laidback approach with some super cool synth chords providing the main focus alongside a few nice FX lines and retro vocal samples, very nice.

Eprome Inc returns to the Bonzai stable, after his 2009 release on Nemesis, with “Bathsheba”. A nice kick and clap intro, with a distant melodic arp filling in the background, is accompanied by cool effects and short vocal samples. The drop brings the track to life with a huge, gritty progressive bassline. Throughout the track some real cool, almost retro sounding stabs ease us between parts, while on the break expertly crafted synth work takes us back to this solid prog groove.

John Scott’s “Summer Rains” is up next and takes on a bit of a deeper progressive vibe. Warm lush bass and pads provide the intro with top quality FX work taking us to the main groove in style. The kick drops and this tune takes off on a hypnotic ride through progressive heaven. Super tight arrangement with a lot of punch here as the very subtle melodies slowly build up to a satisfying climax.

Lastly we have Jesse Mairo and “Andromeda”, a much more upbeat prog house vibe is evident here with the bassline standing out very well over an array of melodic sequences and sweeping pads. The drum arrangement is a bouncy affair that will get any floor shakin’ and ass groovin’. Some very nice synth work on this and a track that is for sure a must for any DJ bag.
