Maciej Labuda makes his debut on Elemental with the superb ‘Lake Of Sadness EP’ which is made up of five beautifully crafted tracks.

‘Blue Hope’ is up first and begins with a perfectly chilled intro as soft waves ebb and flow to the backdrop of a laidback slapped drum section. Serene synths form sweet melodic phrases before a powerfully deep bass takes over. The sounds are intricately woven to create a surreal experience, superb stuff.

‘Be Free’ intros with cool raspy synths and classy drum hits that evolve with the addition of the percussions. Whispered vocals lead us into stunning synth pads alongside a deep bass with long releases. Soft piano melodies caress the sound perfectly and lock you into a purely chilled out vibe, wonderful!

Next up is ‘Into The Wild’ which gets going with some cool percussive hits and a sweeping pad that leads to a super deep bass that reverberates through the sound. Nice bright strings provide a cool contrast as they form melodic sequences topped off with distant spoken voice samples. A hypnotic tone runs through as the soft keys do their work. The perfect track for laid back evenings in the sun.

‘Maybe One Day’ is a surreal piece as your mind will drift off to another world. Nice and smooth pads on the intro lead us gently to this world with a deep bass keeping you rooted. A cool downtempo drum arrangement fits the sound perfectly as melodies are formed from various instruments with strings being most prominent, very nice track indeed.

Lastly on this superb EP we have the title track ‘Lake Of Sadness’. The intro boasts and stunning piano sequence that really brings out the nature of the track as you find yourself getting totally hooked on the melodies. Beautifully arranged sounds are gelled together with a deep bass that throbs with each note. As the track evolves a certain uplift can be felt mainly down to the super sweet melody, a fantastic piece here which you will listen to again and again.
