Italian DJ’s and producers, Cristian Carpentieri, Guido Nemola and Chico Perulli aka Joyfull Family return to Piston with the excellent Lost Pleasures EP. This one follows their 2015 debut – Wish EP – which gained great support across the board. Ten years ago these guys got together to create underground tracks and house remixes. Their 2005 hit Da Breaker got plenty of airtime, notably through gaining top spot on various European charts including Pete Tong’s Essential Selection. They went on to remix for international stars like Corrina Joseph and Shawn Christopher as well as a remix for Cajmere and Dajae’s Brighter Days. In the last couple of years they’ve racked up a very impressive release count on several labels with their brand of deep and tech house hitting the spot for many jocks and clubbers alike. Nice to see them back for more at Piston.

Lost Pleasures is a pure unadulterated bona fide slamming house joint filled with everything you need to get that booty on the floor. The track is driven by a tight drum section complete with chunky kick and shuffling percussions that keep the rhythm flowing nicely. A bouncing bassline gives the groove a dancefloor appeal while smooth garage style pianos give that retro feeling. The vocal stands out with its clubby, soulful vibe making this an absolute must have track.

If you’re looking to add an element of funk into your deep house set the Funk Game is just the track. A mid-tempo groover filled with rhythmic drums and a warm ass shaking bassline that meanders effortlessly through the groove while funky keys fade in that grab a hold of you and force you to move. The lead synth delivers the magic touch on this one as it dishes out the funk with a little help from cool pads and a short vocal snippet. The perfect party starter here, not to be missed.
