Based in Verona, Italy, DJ and producer duo Gobbetti Pizzini debut on Piston with this superb three tracker entitled Black Girl EP. Gianmaria Gobbetti and Thomas Pizzini aka Gobbetti Pizzini bring a smooth blend of deep house along for the ride, their tracks have seen great support and have seen releases on labels like Young NRG Productions, Deep Dependence and Exotic Refreshment. We are delighted to have these guys on board and look forward to more.

First up is the title track, Black Girl. On the intro deep rooted basses and muted kicks filter up and are joined by a distant piano arp that hints at melodic flavours. Crispy percussions make an appearance as the offset bassline takes full control of the sound. A fantastic sounding brass riff with its spacious vibe provides an unexpected twist to the sound and adds very cool textures. This track really does go deep and will keep you locked in for the duration, not to be missed.

Freedom intros with some very cool keys that fade in slowly, building anticipation. Those keys soon reveal their warm tones and are joined by a nice chunky kick and a deep resonating bass. Crispy percussions soon follow as the kicks take on a breaks persona that really gets the rhythm flowing. The track has a melancholic flavour throughout which is built upon by a raspy blues styled vocal snippet. A fantastic, deep and thought invoking track that will appeal to many for sure.

Solo gets going with a haphazard display of sounds that gets the rhythms flowing nicely with the help of a stuttering percussion display. Smooth warm house chords gets the groove moving beautifully while a superb bassline brings up the rear. The deep chords play a huge role here and keep the track moving as the layers build. A little nod to the oldskool style here that will definitely grab a lot of attention no doubt.
