At the age of 15 he had dj’s and performers as friends and his contact with the after-hours scene in Lisbon started at the early age of 16, making his personal heroes DJ’s like Jeff Mills, Dave Clarke, Daftpunk, Laurent Garnier, Juan Atkins, Plastikman, Green Velvet, The Orb, Larry Levan, Luke Slater, Underworld, Derrick Carter, and many more…

He started his musician career in 1998 as a percussionist playing all over Portugal as a freelancer and as a member of many bands like the folk band Dazkarieh in 2002, and the chillout project Tachyons from 2003 to 2005. Then he his way into production of electronic music between chillout and deep house and playing as a DJ at most of the trance and techno open air party’s and clubs all over Portugal having his debut abroad in 2009 in Belgrade Serbia at the Namaste Club.

It is only in 2008 after he graduates from the National Conservatory of Cinema, in the Sound Department, that he begins to embrace the production of house and techno at a full range. He pursuits for different and more accurate deep and groovy house tunes working as a DJ, Producer/Remixer and sound recordist and closely involved with Piston Recordings ran by his long time friend Rogério Martins.

DIMITRY LISS:

From an early age Dimitry had an aptitude for music. Being a piano student he attended various local competitions in his native town, making sure he practiced long hours before each one at home. When he realized being a professional piano player wasn’t his calling, he walked away with considerable knowledge and experience in music and its theory. He tried a lot of musical instruments and was about to settle for rhythm guitar when his thirst for electronic dance music started to develop.

Somewhere deep in the heart of Russia, a lot of influence arose from the cold and moody surroundings he was subjected to in the urban city. He dived deeper into the unknown world of synthesis and sampling. This is where it all started, sleepless nights and lone days with books and computer screens. Producing, practicing and perfecting his craft.

Year 2002 brought dramatic changes to his rather rehearsed and already aggravating routine, when he moved to Dubai. Experience in a new city added to his aural perception. He grew as a music producer gaining knowledge and skill in this fresh and exciting multi-cultural environment where music, culture and technology coincide hand in hand. While on the path to musical growth, Dimitry stumbled upon a few others that shared his vision for a good groove. Two of these key influences are Costas Papa and Abood Nasrawi. Together they try to explore and push creative boundaries.

Dimitry Liss supports electronic music to this day, he is heavily involved with Dimitry Liss and Costas Papa duo project and his own work as a producer and a DJ, crafting brand new tech, deep and minimal house tracks for your enjoyment.

JIMMY GALLE:

Jimmy is born on August 17th in Luik aka Liege in Belgium. As his parents were boatmen he had to attend boarding school from the age of 6 onwards. To overcome the loneliness of boarding school his parents bought him a walkman. That event literally plugged him in in music!

He listened a lot to music via tapes and the radio and developed a health preference house music.
After a long period of nagging and begging his parents he finally got the best birthday present ever on his 15th birthday: a music mixer and double deck cd player. Every free second of his time went into his devotion to music.

2 years later Jimmy got the chance to prove himself at a cool club in Antwerp: Het Eilandje.Success was immediate: he got his first residency!

Not long before he got interested in making his own music. With his savings Jimmy bought his first PC with a sound card and a Korg keyboard. After a few years he discovered his own sound and at the beginning of 2004 he released his first record: Jim-Y – Digital Trumpets. In the meantime he was working on a project with his best friend Ruly. Jimmy had finished a new demo for which he had the perfect voice in mind and boldly he sent it over under the project name R & Y to his favorite vocalist and singer. And guess what! Only 2 weeks later he got contacted by Jan Johnston. Jan had already written the lyrics and called for a date to do the recordings for this song, that is how R&Y Meets Jan Johnston – Its Cold Outside was born. This single was released in 2007 with remixes from Filterheadz and Sied van Riel.

In 2008 Morning On The Terrace got released on the label Bonzai Fiesta. At the end of 2008, Ruly decided to stop with the project, and that was when Jim-Y changed into Jimmy Galle. Jimmys sound was different as a solo dj/producer. After this period different productions and remixes appeared on different labels.
