Italian DJ and producer Duluth aka Marco Trovato makes his debut on Green Martian with the superb Tribute. Marco got into music at a young age and at just 16 he began to DJ at local radio stations where he soon became noticed and was offered many gigs in local clubs. He was playing Acid House and Rap in 1990 and soon his friends were encouraging him to get into the production side of things. Marco has released top rated tracks like Icarus on Mistique Music , Origin and Cremisi on Darkpload Deep and Beggar on Iboga Records. Now with Bonzai we are sure there is much more to come in 2014.
The Original Mix is up first and takes us into a smooth deep progressive house journey. The intro boasts a nicely arranged percussion section with a warm synth forging a melancholic groove to the backdrop of a mystical speech by the late great Nelson Mandela. Smooth flowing rhythms give off a laidback groove which is shored up by a dominating deep rooted bass. Superb stuff and a definite must have.
On remix duty we have another of Marco’s guises, the Mark Found remix turns the heat up to a simmer as tougher edged kicks get the track flowing. Tight percussion patterns provide a solid rhythmic groove here and the bass reverberates beautifully through the sound. That wonderful Mandela speech is reprised here and adds a truly inspirational tone to the sound. A much deeper affair in the remix and will no doubt appeal to many.
