Banshee Worx is proud to announce we signed a exclusive artist contract with Dimitry Liss (Eyepatch Recordings)

Dimitry was born in the culturally diverse eastern Russian port of Vladivostok where his father had introduced him to many musical styles. Dimitry draws on influences from the likes of Led Zeppelin as he feels this helps to shape his sound, he also listens to many contemporary artists including, Amon Tobin, Bonobo, Cuthead, Mount Kimbie, Jehst, Metronomy to name a few. Dimitry also feels that because he grew up in such a rich cultural environment that this also helps in his quest for sound.

Dimitry’s parents left Vladivostok when he was in 5th grade and moved to Tyumen due to work commitments, this was a big change for him as he lost many friends. It wasn’t until Dimitry moved to UAE that he found his musical forte, spending many months and years wandering the deserts searching his soul to define his musical style. This led to a few releases on small record labels, so small he can no longer even remember the name and by his own admission Dimitry believes these releases were far from what he wanted his music to be.

Tech House was the early style he enjoyed and Dimitry gained a partnership with Frisky Records in 2009 and became one of the few people in his area to be with a bigger label, this opened up the DJ route and lots of gigs around the Dubai area ensued. After a lot of creative differences with club promoters in Dubai and Dimitry being told what he can and can’t play, he decided to quit the DJ circuit and focus on production, although DJing would be an option for Dimitry on the European scene.

Today Dimitry’s passion lies in Deep House with a slight element of Tech House and with a compliment of releases on Progrezo and more recently Eyepatch Recordings, his music has featured on may compilations from the likes of Alex Dolby and Gare Mat K plus support from Hernan Cattaneo, Camea, Ellen Allien, Ricardo Villalobos, Loco Dice and more. Dimitry also features regularly on Bonzai Progressive’s own compilations.

Dimitry loves the Deep House genre and will always try to add a bit of his own vision.

His last release, Interstellar Frankie backed up with All That Jazz, is a testament to the diversity and innovation in his music and with the upcoming Captain Love on Eyepatch we are excited about what the future holds for this very talented artist.

The following is a quote from Dimitry and sums up beautifully his vision “I dont really like to call it “dance music” as it’s so much more, deep-house, tech-house and the combination of both is where my attention is centered on at the moment. We’ll see what the future brings, times change and so do we”.
