Chilean DJ and producer Diego Herrera returns to BB with the superb ‘Middle Earth EP’. His last outing ‘Afterhour’ gained much attention as he delivers a full on deep tech experience. This EP covers two tracks plus a brilliant remix.

The Original Mix of ‘Middle Earth’ gets right into tech grooves from the off with a snappy kick, crisp hat and some deep throbbing basses. Cool rhythms are the result of this arrangement with some raw, almost industrial sounds creeping in. This is evident on the break, sublime organic sounds are merged brilliantly with some vocals that give the track an even darker edge, top notch yet again from Diego.

Buenos Aires based DJ and producer Rodrigo Estevez offers up a wonderful remix on ‘Middle Earth. Rodrigo has begun releasing his own material through labels like Mismatch Music and Power Beat Records since late 2013, definitely one to watch here. The remix gives us a cool 4 x 4 groove with a tight arrangement on the drums and percs which makes for smooth rhythmic vibes. Nice depth on the bass as it powers through the track drawing lots of attention. The original vocals are used well throughout this full on tech workout.

Diego’s next track is ‘Raw Wax’, the intro boasts a sharp hat and muted kick combo with a fantastic arp rising up alongside. Before you know it, after a short break the track explodes with a superb bouncy rhythm which is formed by some expert arrangement. The bass is the big hitter as it bubbles up from below, the bass is complimented by some outstanding construction on the kicks and percussions giving off a nice techno bounce. The track trudges on relentlessly as the groove fully takes control, simply stunning stuff!
